About: Born around lots of animals, including the GSD my mom bred many going to K9 programs and I would show them when I was little. Growing up, I was part of raising & training hunting dogs (Labs) & a seizure dog (Sheltie). As an adult I've had a GSD, Pomeranians and pitbulls (potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, basic commands like sit stay come - clicker method). I also learned some about senior care helping my friend who worked at Hearts United shelter for several years. I currently don't have any dogs, but have cats. I have minimal appointments (2 hour long weekly standing & sporadic others) and errands (school drop off and pickup) so I can be available to care for your pet nearly 24/7 Caring for your dog at your home, I would follow whatever routine, usual/best practices you have for them there. At my apartment, there is a large open grassy area right behind my building and a great walking/bike path, but it is NOT fenced so I would be taking out any dog myself on a leash. If I needed to leave my apartment for an appointment/errand and could not bring your dog along, I would want to crate to ensure there's no accidents while unsupervised in a strange environment.

About: Hello, my name is Mike. I have a family of four, consisting of two daughters and my wife. My daughters are aged 15 and 12. My wife and I have been married for 20 years. Our entire family has always had dogs, and we all share a deep love for them. We often dog-sit for many of our neighbors' and friends' dogs. Currently, we have one dog named Bella, who is a three-year-old Maltipoo and very social. When my daughters were younger, we had two rescue pugs that grew up with us but unfortunately passed away in recent years due to old age, which was very heartbreaking. Fortunately, we welcomed another dog into our home and regularly take care of the pets of many friends. Our eldest daughter, Sophie, enjoys running with our neighbors' dogs, a large Schnauzer and a Golden Retriever. She is quite fond of running frequently. Our younger daughter, Sadie, takes Bella for walks regularly, and our entire family enjoys walking our dog together. We have a fenced backyard where Bella has learned to use the doggy door to go outside whenever she pleases. We all cherish having dogs around the house, playing and keeping us company. Our family's schedule is very flexible as my wife is a stay-at-home mom, and I work from home most days. Despite their involvement in various activities, my daughters always find time to spend with our pets. I currently work part-time from home, while my wife is home full-time. About: My wife and I both grew up with multiple dogs in our families. My wife grew up on a farm with mostly outside cattle dogs and I grew up in the city with mostly inside dogs. When we got married we got a dog of our own. She was our baby until we had kids of our own. She was then the best big sister to our daughters the rest of her life. We have owned 2 boxers in the time that we have been married and truly loved our time with them. We have realized as our 3 girls have gotten older and super involved in activities, we no longer have time for a dog of our own. That is what has brought us to Rover. We would love the opportunity to care for other people dogs in a way that works with our crazy schedule. My wife and I are both teachers and coaches. During the school year we are very busy teaching, coaching, and running our 3 daughters to activities. During the summer our schedule slows way down. We are usually home during the the week and at the lake on the weekend. All/most of my family would be available for pet care Monday-Friday during the summer. We would be available to have dogs in our home or to drive to your home. We would not be able to do any overnights in your home, but would welcome dogs to stay over night in our home. We live in a split level house, so there is no way to avoid stairs. We have a big fenced in backyard with a play set, trampoline, and above ground pool. We live in a quite neighborhood on a side street. We have lots of houses around us with dogs and lots of dogs in the neighborhood. My wife takes long walks daily and would love to have a canine companion. My 3 girls love animals and will spoil all dogs with love and attention.
