“Caroline took such great care of our boy! This was our first time using Rover and having someone our dog doesn’t know let him out. He barks a lot around people he doesn’t know. By the 3rd drop-in, he wasn’t even barking at her. Loved all the updates and pics she sent. We will definitely use Caroline again in the future!”

“Halle was amazing!! She bonded very quickly with my little one. Was prompt, attentive to my dog, and made sure to give her cuddles while we were away. Leaving our dog behind is always rough but Halle gave us peace of mind that she was being well taken care of!”

Please tell me everything I am a full time nursing student but am only taking one online class over the summer. Besides that, I have a 3 year old golden retriever and a year old kitty that I love dearly and spoil rotten and would love to help other pet parents when needed! I will abide by the pet parents rules and make sure they are well cared for, fed, groomed, dogs walked, played with, happy, loved and for them to be as stress free as possible (rather than being alone from their parents and anxious).

About: I've been a dog lover my entire life and have always had dogs as part of my family. After graduating college and moving into my own place, the very first thing I did was adopt a dog of my own! I now have two wonderful dogs and have spent years learning about different breeds, personalities, and training styles. Caring for dogs has become second nature to me, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to their daily routine, my goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. In the summer, I am available full-time to care for pets. Beginning in the fall, I am a teacher so I am available for pet care after 4pm. I am comfortable visiting your home and caring for your pets in their most comfortable environment, their own home! I am able to bring your pets for walks, let them outside, crate them, or snuggle on the couch! Whatever you and they are comfortable with.
About: As a lifelong animal lover, I’ve cared for a wide range of pets — from cats and dogs to small animals. I have three dogs of my own, so I understand the importance of routine, patience, and genuine love when it comes to pet care. My dogs currently live with my parents 2 miles down the road from me! My experience includes handling multiple pets at once, caring for senior dogs, and understanding different personalities and energy levels. I treat every pet like family and always go the extra mile to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work early mornings at Hershey Hospital and typically finish around 4:30 PM, which gives me plenty of time for evening walks, drop-ins, and overnight care if needed. On my days off, I’m fully available for daytime care as well. I’m happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pets get the care and attention they deserve! For the safety and comfort of your pets, I care for them in their own familiar environment — your home — where they feel most relaxed and secure. I follow all of your instructions carefully to keep their routine as normal as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special needs they may have. About: It is very important for any pet to engage in daily activities and to be loved, specifically when they are away from their family. Patience and love is the key to make them feel at home. My family is involved in helping pets feel at home and in taking care of their needs. Depending on the age and the specific care needed, every pet will be in good hands in my house. I usually work with repeated customers that know that their pets are now part of my family. They are testimony of the excellent care and great communication that are part of my services. My husband helps when I’m not at home and my daughters love to take dogs on walks I have a fenced yard that is safe for daily activities. There is an open park a block from the house where we go for more open space
“Kianna was amazing! She was so quick and responsive with which to communicate. She understood and tolerated my long cat sitting instructions and my cat Jack took right to her. She was able to come and care for him based on my schedule, which I greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend her and rebook her with no hesitation. What a gem to find!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Speedwell
My usual cat sitter options were unavailable and I needed someone on short notice, so tried Rover for the first time, ack! Heather responded right away and set up a meet and greet. She was very reliable and communicative, reaching out with questions as needed, and came back for the second day despite my sassy cat giving her a bit of attitude. Thanks for your patience, Heather!

I’m so happy I found her! This was my first time using Rover or any pet sitter, so I was very nervous, but she made the whole experience so easy and reassuring. She was super responsive, responsible, and followed all of my instructions for my two kittens perfectly. She clearly has experience with cats and cared for my kittens like they were her own. I also noticed a few things through my pet camera while I was away, and when I asked her to check in on them, she was so kind and helpful about it. I would 100% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable cat sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
