“So thankful for Sarah! This was my first time needing someone I didn’t know to take my babies out while I’m gone, and I’m so glad it was by her. She was prompt, available last minute which I am so thankful for, and great with communication and response! I have a recently adopted pup I don’t know a whole lot about yet and she handled him wonderfully, as well as my other baby. Knowing she was coming gave me such peace of mind. I absolutely recommend her!”

About: Howdy! I’m a EMT student trying to incorporate my love for animals in with keeping in shape for my next career. I’ve lived and worked on farmland all my life — I’m not phased by aggressive *livestock*, much less a reactive dog! I spend a lot of my time currently training dogs for people in need, and working with shelters to help their nervous dogs develop some adoptable skills. I’ve also been volunteering with disabled animals (wildlife and domestic alike) since I was in middle school, in rehab facilities and as a home foster, and I’m very accustomed to delivering meds to all the most resistant patients. They’re a part of my daily function — they eat when I eat, I don’t go for runs without them, and if I’m going to any pet-friendly store they can behave in, they’re already in the car. My pets and any others in my care are not only my first priority in terms of safety, but in fun! My career and lifestyle has had me naturally trained in pet aggression and reactivity, including muzzles and muzzle training, crate training, heavy leash pulling etc.
About: Having owned a barn I have experience with all types of pets. I have experience with difficult pet kids. Trained in administering oral, IV & IM meds. Your fur babies are treated to long walks and massages. They will be the only pet(s) staying at my place. I care for them as my own.

About: I’m comfortable adjusting my care to each pet’s age, personality, and individual needs. My family had a couple litters of puppies, so I have experience caring for young puppies, keeping their area clean, feeding them, and keeping up with the extra mess and attention that comes with a litter. I’ve also cared for senior dogs, blind, deaf or all of the above. I can adjust to what is needed and am happy to do so. I am currently a college student so I have plenty of time to come and go as needed I can work around my class schedule. I prioritize keeping pets safe, comfortable, and supervised at all times. I’m happy to follow their normal routines and any specific instructions from their owners. I’ll make sure they have fresh water, proper meals, bathroom breaks, exercise, and plenty of attention. I treat every home and pet with respect and care, and I’ll communicate with owners if anything unexpected comes up.

I enjoy getting to spend time with other anaimals as well. I am big on “doggy manners” and am good at teaching them to your furry friend. During my visits, I will walk, play and spend time with your dog/cat. I have walked many dogs, and enjoy connecting with them all. I’m available in the mornings and afternoons, and sometimes in the middle of day depending on the day of the week. I look forward to getting to know your furry companion 🤍🤎 Im currently a stay at home mom. My child attends school from 8-3. I am a student; but like to take a few breaks a day to go out. About: Raised in Oklahoma surrounded by horses, chickens, goats, and dogs, caring for animals has always been second nature to me. My six years as a postal letter carrier added another layer to that experience, giving me a strong, practical read on dog behavior and body language out on the daily route. Now living in The Villages, I bring that lifelong familiarity to every sit. I’m comfortable with the full spectrum of pets—from giant Mastiffs to tiny Maltese, alongside cats, birds, and farm livestock. Though new to the Rover platform, I am an experienced, full-time sitter with a proven track record of 28 five-star reviews from past clients on Trusted Housesitters. Working remotely full-time means I’m right there where your pets need me most. They get steady, around-the-clock companionship, regular outdoor breaks, and total consistency with their usual feeding and exercise schedules. Whether you have an energetic dog that needs active routine or a senior pet that prefers a calm, watchful presence, I offer dependable, level-headed care that keeps your animals safe and your property thoroughly respected. Because my wife and I both work remotely full-time, our schedule is extremely flexible. Someone is almost always present in the home, meaning your pets receive constant companionship, frequent pot-breaks, timely feedings, and zero disruption to their normal daily routine. We easily integrate walks, play sessions, and attention throughout the day while we work. We treat your home and pets with total respect, cleanliness, and security. During sits in your home, we follow all security protocols, maintain strict leash safety during outdoor walks, and adhere closely to your feeding, crate, or medication routines. We send regular updates and photos so you can travel with complete peace of mind, knowing your pets and property are in mature, experienced hands.
“Teri was terrific with our little man. We are visiting Florida so was unsure how it would work in our rental but it was great! She even gave him a new toy! Will definitely request her again when we need good care for Deuce.”

About: Since middle school, I have grown up caring for many different animals. I was responsible for the care of my pets; including two rabbits, three guinea pigs, a leopard gecko, and four snakes. All of these pets lived a very lavish and spoiled life. During high school, I used my volunteer hours fostering dogs, rehabilitating them for their forever homes. The care for these dogs included feeding, walking/playing, training, and medical care. I started working in the veterinary medicine field almost two years ago. This field has given me the experience of providing compassionate medical care, no matter the patient. I am now a full time student studying for radiology. I am a full time student, in which I attend classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am free in the early mornings and late afternoons of those two days. The rest of the week is completely free besides the 2-3 hours I spend studying for school. I tend to be very watchful with pets and do not like to let animals out without some sort of lead unless your yard is fenced in. I will always prioritize safety over anything else to ensure a safe and positive experience for all parties involved. I also ask that I be either provided an emergency contact and/or a preferred veterinary caretaker in case (god forbid) an emergency does come up. I also ask that if a pet is receiving medications, there are clear directions with clear times to administer medications.
About: I have taken care of a multitude of breeds and animals throughout my life. Growing up I had a teacup poodle named Clara Bow. I later had an english bulldog named Lulu. During my years in high school through present time, my family dogs include a Dalmatian, a Cavalier King Charles, and a new addition Toy Poodle. Dog walking and caring has been a task I have enjoyed and attended to since I was only a child. I have experience with pitbull breeds, as well as older dogs who may need medicine administered, diapers, etc. I look forward to taking amazing care of your cute pups! I am a college student so my schedule is different depending on the season. I bounce around between Fort Lauderdale, Gainesville, and Ocala, Florida. I work part time and have availability for walking, sitting, drop ins, etc on most days of the week. I currently own a cat of my own and she will be a year old in October. No matter which location I am in, my home is filled with comfort, cleanliness, and calm. In Fort Lauderdale there are the two dogs I mentioned, my family dalmation and cavalier king charles. My cat comes wherever I go, but when tending to services in Ocala and Gainesville it is just my one cat in the home.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
