About: I live a very active lifestyle, which has been great for being both a dog owner and a sitter! I recently lost my dog of 13 years and am not ready to find my next companion yet. In the meantime, I would love to soak up your pup's love and shower them with affection. I love spending time outdoors and staying active. I hike about 3–5 miles a day, and I have a beautiful lawn and patio area where I spend a lot of time. I work from home and make my own schedule, so I'm free to walk your dog or take advantage of the sunshine whenever it suits us. I work remotely and I am generally flexible with my schedule and availability. I can customize my day to meet the needs of the dogs in my care. I have experience with many temperaments and am happy to adapt to your dog's needs—whether that's enrichment, exercise, snuggles, or safely navigating walks around other dogs. Having had reactive dogs of my own, I understand how important it is to be patient, observant, and calm, and I'll follow your routines and cues closely so your dog feels safe and settled.

“We left our dog with Blair and her pack for a few nights. Blair was patient and a great listener to learn about our dog's needs. Her own dogs are great with other dogs. Blair communicated frequently with updates and photos while our dog was staying with her. She and her dogs were very accommodating for our dog. I would definitely bring our dog back as needed and recommend Blair's service to others.”

“Brutus had another wonderful stay with Elizabeth and came back home happy and healthy. Brutus has colitis so its important that he eats only certain foods and Elizabeth did this perfectly for us. We got daily photos and a little report on his days activities and walks he had gone on. Couldn't be happier knowing our dog was safe and well taken care of while we were gone. Thanks Elizabeth!”

“Wendy provided a loving home for our pup, Freddy, during extended travel for our family. Wendy's dog Elka was an instant friend to Freddy and knowing that he was safe, busy and receiving wonderful care took away a lot of anxiety. We look forward to Freddy staying with Wendy again in the future.”

About: I'm a work at home pet mom with a large yard, lots of toys, and a calm and welcoming house. I've always had large dogs from mixed breeds to Great Danes, but love and appreciate all types of well mannered dogs. My house sits well off the road, so its quiet and I hike or trail walk almost daily. I am adept at giving medicine, cleaning wounds and dealing with incontinent dogs, but I will only board dogs who are respectful of my cats. I am currently working from home on my own schedule. Boarded dogs who enjoy car rides can come with me on errands or outings. While each day may different, my activities will be built around the needs of the animals I am caretaking, especially if separation anxiety is an issue. I will care for your animals as per your instructions and the capabilities of your pet. I do not have a fenced in yard, but have installed a run line in the past. If a dog is used to being crated, receiving treats, or sleeping on the couch - no problem. Conversely, I don't give animals people food, and if you want your pets to stay off furniture I will strictly honor that as well. My house is small but open, so it is easy to keep an eye on them.
About: I have over 15 years of experience dog sitting. I am a huge animal lover, and would love to give your dog some extra attention while you are away. I grew up with dogs, and I have experience with dogs of varying shapes, sizes and personalities. I will be sure to send you photos and updates. I also have experience caring for cats and horses. Please let me know how I can help! I am available weekends and weekday mornings and evenings. I could be available during the work day on a case by case basis. I work full time in Boothbay (some days are remote). I am open to staying at your place or your dog coming to mine. I do have a dog so they would need to be dog friendly. Safety is my top priority. I always keep dogs on leash when outside, and I always ensure the inside space is safe and clean for your dog.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Southport home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Southport.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Southport sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
