About: My hands-on experience as a former dog rescuer and PetSmart employee sets me apart. Being a dog rescuer has given me the skills to confidently care for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. During my time as a rescuer, I learned not only how to feed them and play with them, but also administer medicine and bathe them when necessary. As a pet care associate and cashier at PetSmart, I worked with multiple types of dogs and their pet parents to ensure they would get the best products and services. Because of my dedication to the well-being of dogs at PetSmart, I was offered an opportunity to be trained for a dog trainer position, but I had to reject it since I was moving out of state for college. Now, I’m back in Miami and ready to make your dog feel at home, even if you’re away. I’m a college student currently in Miami for summer and on a really flexible schedule, so I’m willing to dedicate lots of time to your dog. I will adapt to your dog’s necessities, whether they need going on long walks and playing at the park, or cuddles and quiet time. I believe that dogs are important members of the family and deserve to be treated as such.

“Luiza is amazing with my baby Jayden. She is always on time and Jayden always comes back very happy and tired from the walks. He loves to go with her and she always keeps me informed and sends pictures. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Caity has quickly become my dog, Finn’s, bestie. I appreciate Caity for her responsiveness, timeliness and dependability. You can stop your search now. Reach out to Caity if you’re looking for five-star pup care.”

“This is my first time using rover and I’m glad I picked Joel! He and my Layla bonded on their daily walks while I was out of town! I will most definitely use his services again!”

About: Hi! I’m Richard Twaits, born and raised in Coral Gables, Florida with over 21 years of pet care experience. Feel free to read the lengthier bulk of my summary, but for convenience I have prepared a bullet point summary of my skills & strengths: Lifetime Dog Owner – Raised with dogs since early childhood; experienced with all life stage • 🐶 Rescue & Trauma Experience – Skilled in building trust with abused or anxious dogs • Lifetime Dog Owner – Raised with dogs since early childhood; experienced with all life stage • 💉 Medical Care Knowledge – Familiar with chronic conditions (e.g., Addison’s disease) and medication routines, including injections • 🏃♂️ Active & Athletic – Committed to daily walks, exercise, and play for dogs of all energy levels • 🐕 Large & Small Dog Handling – Comfortable caring for breeds from Shih Tzus to Pitbulls and Standard Poodles • 🚨 Emergency Experience – Calm and fast-reacting in emergencies (e.g., breaking up dog fights, rushing to ER) • 🧠 Behavior & Temperament Awareness – Skilled at reading dog behavior and adjusting approach accordingly • 🏡 Experienced Pet Sitter – Cared for dogs of family, friends, and neighbors for years • 🤝 Gentle Giant Personality – 6’4", 225 lbs; firm, loving presence that dogs feel safe around • 👀 High Situational Awareness – Alert on walks and in public spaces; prioritizes safety at all times • 💼 Reliable & Responsible – Former CPA auditor; understands time management and accountability • 💧 Health & Wellness Focused – Values hydration, outdoor time, and structured routines for happy, healthy pets My love for animals started early. When I was just a few years old, my mom found an abandoned Shih Tzu in our neighborhood. We took him in and named him Yankee. He wasn’t the easiest dog—snappy, growled at everyone but my mom, and didn’t let anyone else pick him up. But over time, we formed a bond. We later learned he had been abused before we adopted him, which explained a lot. Slowly but surely, he came to trust us. I’ll never forget the first time he let me scoop him up after chasing a jogger down the street (something that happened more than once!). Yankee taught me that some dogs need time, patience, and love to come out of their shell. He went from biting us as kids to becoming a beloved family member who would cuddle in our laps when he wasn’t feeling well. That experience taught me a lot about pet temperament and trust. As Yankee reached his final days, we adopted Lena, a black standard poodle. After Yankee passed, I quickly realized something wasn’t right with Lena. A vet diagnosed her with Addison’s disease—a rare hormonal imbalance. Without a monthly injection, her muscles would collapse from exhaustion. I even had to rush her to the ER once. That experience taught me how critical it is to stay on top of medications and chronic health issues. I take that responsibility very seriously. After Lena began declining far too early, we rescued Gigi, a golden retriever/chow mix. The two were adorable together—Gigi trying to gnaw on Lena’s legs as a teething puppy, and Lena tolerating it with quiet elegance. After Lena’s passing, Gigi became my baby. She’s now almost 13, but I keep her active and healthy. As an athlete myself, I’m very disciplined with her care: daily walks, playtime in our huge backyard, and lots of love. I also care for my dad’s pitbull/lab mix when he’s out of town. I helped raise her from puppyhood, so I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and energy levels—from snappy seniors to energetic puppies. I take pet care seriously. I’ve worked as a Big 4 CPA auditor (60–80 hours a week—I get how hard it is to balance life and pet care). That’s why I’m here—to help you provide your dog with the love, exercise, and attention they need while you’re at work, traveling, or simply recovering. I've also had to protect my pets in intense situations. At a dog park, I once had to physically unhook a pit bull’s jaws from my Gigi. Another time, I defended her from a small dog that torpedoed out of a neighbor's yard. I never use violence against animals; I love them all. But I’ve learned how to react quickly and prioritize safety for every dog involved. I’m always aware of my surroundings and cautious on walks to protect pets from traffic, off-leash dogs, or surprises around the corner. I’m 6’4”, 225 lbs—what you might call a gentle giant. I’ve got a firm but caring touch, and I’ve found that dogs tend to trust me quickly. No dog is too big or too small for me. I’ve cared for the pets of neighbors, family, and friends for many years, and I’d be honored to care for yours, too. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets under my care the time, attention, and activity they need throughout the day. Whether it's early morning walks, midday playtime, medication schedules, or evening routines, I’m able to fully accommodate a pet’s needs. I also stay active myself, so daily walks, backyard play, and consistent hydration are already part of my lifestyle. Pet care isn't something I squeeze in—it's something I plan my day around. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for any pet, whether in my home or yours. I always take time to understand each dog’s unique needs, personality, and boundaries before beginning care. In your home, I treat the space with respect, follow all instructions carefully, and maintain routines to keep your pet comfortable and stress-free. I'm alert on walks, avoid unsafe or crowded areas, and always keep pets securely leashed unless in a fully fenced space with permission. If I'm caring for a pet in my home, I make sure the environment is calm, clean, and pet-friendly—free from hazards and tailored to the dog’s energy level and comfort. I also have a large, secure backyard that allows for safe outdoor play and exercise. I’ve dealt with everything from high-anxiety rescues to medical conditions requiring medication, and I bring a calm, confident presence that helps dogs feel safe. Whether it’s administering meds, protecting pets from off-leash dogs, or recognizing signs of stress, I act quickly and responsibly.

Gloria P.
“Gloria Pascual has been my neighbor across the back fence for about 39 years. In all that time we've known each other, we've both been caring for our own cats and, particularly in Gloria's case, the neighborhood strays and ferals as well in a several block radius - the lost, the ones left behind when owners moved, the kittens and adults dumped for whatever reasons people do such a terrible thing. She has always been dedicated to making sure everyone got food and water twice daily, rain or shine and she would go to various places around the neighborhood to greet 1-2 here, 3 there, until everyone was checked over and fed. First things first, our Rule of the Neighborhood - if I feed you or can catch you, you're going to get spayed or neutered and checked out. Over time she would befriend them and they would gather in their little territory when they knew she was coming. She's accustomed to handling cats, understanding their behaviors and quirks, and sensing if their behavior is irregular. As best as possible, she would get them veterinary help when sick or in a fight or injured even though that was expensive, and sometimes making the hard decision when they were too hurt or too sick to save. She was always frantic when one of her charges disappeared, and if she called me, we'd both look. Sometimes successfully, sometimes not. She was greatly saddened over any disappearance or need to put someone to sleep - and over 39 years, it's happened a lot. While her experience is mostly cats as far as I know, there have also been stray or lost dogs in the neighborhood as well, and she would catch them if possible and try to find their owners and get them home. I don't know about birds or more exotics, but I can say that if an animal needs feeding, watering, walking, company or care, she's your person and she'll learn anything she needs to know to make them comfortable when their owners are away. I believe she would make an excellent pet sitter. She is conscientious, reliable, and dedicated to the welfare of the pets she monitors. She would be committed to keeping their routines, keeping things calm, safe, clean with plenty of food, water and company, and following protocols if anyone got sick. She's a good person.”

Richard T.
“I have known Richard since he was a kid. My wife and I live in Coral Gables, and often go on trips. We have been able to rely on Richard countless times to look after our lab while away. He trust is highly trust worthy, extremely nice, and great with our dog Bianca. I can also attest to him being a big dog lover walking his family dogs everyday, which speaks volumes. The house was clean, no accidents / stains. He’s great. Also helps he’s a big guy considering our Bianca is a strong puller!”

Camille P.
“Camille is absolutely wonderful with animals! She has cared for my cats since 2013. She is so loving with them, and they adore her. She has always gotten to know each of their individual personalities and gives each one the special attention they need. One size does not fit all! I have seen the dogs in my neighborhood approach her without hesitation. She is so friendly with and respectful of all of them. Camille clearly loves animals and has a natural affinity for caring for them.”

Natalie H.

“Natalie was super sweet and attentive towards our pup on walks! He takes a little warm up to someone knew and she understood that and took good care of him!”

Fabiola B.
“I have trusted Fabiola to care for my dog. Fabiola and her family truly care about animals and their well being. She understands animals and their needs. I would not hesitate to recommend her as a pet sitter.”

Danni B.

“Danni is a wonderful pet sitter. Conscientious trusting and very responsible. I allowed Danny to spend several hours in my home to care for my cats. Danny cleaned up after them and called me to keep me informed as to how they were doing while she was there. She is conscientious trusting and very responsible. Danny was special because not only did she feed my pets and play with them she made a bond with my kitty cats and they loved her. I felt as though my pets were safe with her and I felt very comfortable having her in my home. I highly recommend her to any family who is interested in having someone care for their pets. PS she is great with kids too!!!”
