“Casie took care of my pup Tank while I went on a little weekend vacation. Tank absolutely loved her, he gave her 5 stars too! She did an amazing job looking after him while we were gone. She sent tons of pictures with updates & left our place as it was before. We really appreciate all she did, thank you again Casie!”

“Natalie was AWESOME with Grey! She came to meet him a few times, before she stayed with him, to insure he was comfortable with her. She was very good with Grey. She played with him more than we do, I am sure. She sent us pictures and videos multiple times a day. She contacted me if something arose that I had not mentioned or explained about his idiosyncrasies. He loves her, and so do we. We were concerned that he would want to go with her, when she left / went home from the stay!! That is how much she did for him.”

About: I have grown up with many dogs, little and big. From taking them walks, cleaning the poop, and even just snuggles. I have a dog now who is just 4 yrs old. I love training her to do new tricks as she grows. (She can give hugs!) I worked at a Doggy/Cat boarding/Day care and loved spending time with them to build trust. I love helping the dogs and cats meet their needs and care as if they are my own until their own family will again. I am able to work through anytime on the week days. Start at 7am-9pm on the weekends. I can adapt to times and planning, even on short notice (shortest as a day before). I am able to work through handing dogs at your house as you want/need. Even cleaning through cages, vacuum, pick up poop, straight up toys. At the same time, your pet will be loved, fed/hydrated, play through the day, and all needs and/or wants.
“Tina was outstanding! She gave me daily updates on how my boy Chef was and was overall very thorough with making sure he was well taken care of. I will be reaching out to her again next time I need someone to watch Chef.”

“Excelente house sitter and great with dogs. He is home often and makes sure they get plenty of exercise. And on top of that he takes great care of the house too!”

“EXCELLENT dog and house sitter! He watched my dogs for 3 nights and 4 days. Bryce took excellent care of my house and dogs. He was very communicative and gave excellent, precise information. He walked both dogs, gave medication and went above and beyond. Awesome sitter”

“Samantha was very accommodating to our last-minute changes. She even made a trip out to meet Laila since we would be leaving before she first arrived. She sent a picture and messages during our time away from our fur baby. I’m so pleased with how well this worked out because for the last several years, my husband would only plan a trip away together if one of our kids was able to take of Laila. Now we have another option and will definitely be using Samantha again.”

“Stayed at my house with my two pups and did amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure they were taken care of and I couldn’t have been happier. She sent updates and pictures throughout the days as well :). Great sitter!”

“This is the first time I ever used a service like this and was very apprehensive about it at first. I was paired with Vance and after speaking with him I felt at ease. Vance asked a lot of questions regarding the pets and the house as he was staying with my pets and watching over the house at the same time. Over the course his stay he was very commutative sent daily updates and picture's. The house was even cleaner after he left. I highly recommend Vance I definitely will reach out to him in the future!”

“I had Albert for the 1st time over this weekend. He was very friendly, reliable and great with my Labrador Sunshine. She is 2 1/2, high energy and 73 lbs. Albert handled her very well and took very good care of her. I already have him booked again this summer!”

About: I have had a life long love of animals. Since I was a young child we've always had cats, dogs, lizards and at one point a bird in our home. That has not stopped since I've been an adult. I have been caring for my cat Greyson for the last 3 years. Over the last 4 years I have spent more time pet sitting for neighbors, friends and family. I currently work part time, 26 hours a week Friday through Sunday. I am available for walks, drop in visits, house sits and more Monday through Thursday 7 am to 11 pm. Fridays I am available after 4 pm and I'm available after 2 pm on Saturday and Sundays. I have a lot of experience with pets who tend to act like escape artists. I am very careful when I open doors as to not let the fur babies out.
About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life, and have been caring for them my entire life. I have experience with both large and small dogs as well as cats. I’m currently home from college for the summer and working part time so I have a good amount of time on my hands, especially on Sundays and Mondays. I experience with almost every type of pet care you can think of including things like bathing, crating, playing, walking, feeding, and even giving medication.
“Jen was amazing, and it was such a pleasure to work with her! Her knowledge and experience with dogs, especially considering our high-maintenance Siberian Huskies, left us very confident that we could trust our babies with her while we were away for a week. We have four dogs—three young adult Siberian Huskies and an older mixed-breed. Our four dogs absolutely adored Jen. We've never seen them so attached to someone other than us. Jen communicated regularly and sent us pictures daily, and we could tell our dogs were being well cared for. She was respectful of our home and left it nice and tidy. She checked our mail, brought in our trash bin, and even let us know of a house issue that came up while she was sitting. I’m so happy we found Jen; she was the only reason we were able to enjoy our vacation stress-free without worrying about our dogs. If you’re looking for a professional, friendly, experienced sitter who will take excellent care of your pets, Jen is highly recommended. Thank you so much, Jen! We hope to work with you again!”

“Kristie was our first pet sitter that wasnt family.. She put up with a crazy dog mommy who was so worried about Nico.. We quickly settled down with all the pictures and text messages.. Our house was nice and clean when we arruved home and Nico was perfectly fine.. Thank you Kristie!!”

“One sitter we always go back to as she makes it a breeze to go out when we know our dog is with her. Sends photos while she is with him and also took him on some walks, has no problem handling anything we ask of her!”

“Hilary, thank you for adopting our pets as your own while we were away for two weeks! We missed our many pets, but were so grateful to know you were thoughtfully and lovingly caring for our motley crew of fur babies (as well as some fish and house plants). The peace of mind was a true gift, and we appreciate you so much!”

FAQs for House Sitting - South Buffalo
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 1,170 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across South Buffalo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South Buffalo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South Buffalo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Buffalo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in South Buffalo. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
