“My dogs take awhile to warm up to new people and Bevin did a wonderful job of letting them get to know her. She updated daily with pictures and regular walks. My dogs were with her for 5 days and at the end of their time together they had developed a lovely companionship, would def book again with her.”

“Chantal was amazing with my dog. She had a hard time with new people but Chantal was calm and great and my dog warmed up very nicely. The house was left clean which was a huge relief 😅”

“Joy was a great sitter for our energetic pup and a good steward with our 121 yr old home!! It was fun seeing pics of her interacting with our WitchHazel, and the the house was just as clean as when we’d left it! Looking forward to calling upon her in the future! Highly recommend her”

“Ashley is awesome. She stayed with our two dogs (one being a 4-month-old puppy) for a week and we came home to a clean house and happy pups. It's so nice not to worry about your home and beloved furry family members when you're out of town. Thanks Ashley!”

“Crystal was our first ever pet sitter, and she made it a great experience! She listened to our instructions thoroughly and sent us lots of updates with pictures, which we loved. She helped ease both our and our pup’s anxiety about being apart! She took great care of our home, leaving it even cleaner than we left it. We will without a doubt hiring Crystal again the next time we need a sitter.”

“According to Bailey, our Maltese, Pat treated him with attention and affection like never before (except from us) while we were away on Christmas vacation: he frankly hated to see her leave. Pat responded to our enquiry promptly and met with us on two occasions to get all the details regarding staying in our home, including Bailey's culinary details and exercise and sleeping preferences. Upon our return we found everything as we had left it and a very happy Bailey eager to have us go on another vacation in order to have fun with Pat again. We highly recommend Pat as she saved the situation for us. Initially, we did some "interviews" with a local kennel but were rejected since all Bailey did during the "all day trial" was try to escape. On future trips, Pat will be the first person we'll contact for the job.”

“Alexander arrived on time and communicated throughout the stay. The house was tidy upon our return. Alexander put in additional effort by watering our plants when he noticed they were drooping and refilled my hummingbird feeders. Our two dogs were well cared for and we are sure they barely noticed we weren’t around!”

“My Arthur is very shy but within minutes of meeting Stacy he had cuddled up behind her on the couch. She sent just the right amount of communication from me and made it easy since this was my first time working with a house-sitter. I hope to work with Stacy again and highly recommend her.”

“I have to say if you are visiting Tofino and you need your dog walked or watched for the day Claire was amazing !! I am from Ontario and I flew out to Vancouver Island to travel the island and during my stay in tofino - Claire watched Stella ( golden Retriever ) while I was on a whale watching tour. Claire sent me the most adorable photos of my dog and took her on a 12 km hike !!! She was extremely helpful and so super friendly !! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect first experience with Rover !!”

“Anya was a terrific dog and house sitter! We appreciated her flexibility as our plans shifted a bit, and that she took our pup on lots of long walks and adventures. We also loved the photo updates, and the respect she showed for our home (honestly, she left the house cleaner than she found it!) She is a very reliable dog sitter and we’ll definitely be using her again!”

“No words can express the gratitude I feel for the special care that Tobi gave my two small dogs while we were away for a few days. Tobi has to be one of the sweetest, most caring, intuitive and professional dog lovers I’ve ever met. My boys were happy and relaxed when we returned and we will most definitely be calling Auntie Tobi every time we travel to take care of Simon and Webster. Nine million thumbs up!”

About: Animals are wonderful beings! They have a way of reminding us to slow down, be present and get outside. Having been without pets for quite a number of years, I am missing their presence in my life. I grew up with poodles, springer spaniels and terriers. I had two cats of my own (Ruth and Monica) and loved them dearly. I'm considering a move to a quieter (and more rural) part of Vancouver Island and am looking to explore some of the areas outside of Victoria and house/pet sitting is a great way to get a feel for other communities. I'm also interested in exploring areas of the BC interior. I'm a devoted, reliable, dedicated animal lover and I take pride in doing any project to the best of my ability. I have a care-giver background, having worked in dental health and as a yoga teacher for many years. I have lots of experience with landscaping and I love to garden. I love building connections with people & animals. I am 'trauma-informed' and am familiar with 'Force Free' training principles. I'm comfortable with older pets and giving some meds as needed also. I've recently received a refresher with chicken coop care --gathering eggs, cleaning and maintaining the coop as well. Let's touch base with a phone call first to get a sense of each other. From there, if the 'fit' feels good--I'm happy to meet up in person on Vancouver Island. Alternatively, we can meet on video to get a feel for each other also. Looking forward to caring for your precious animal friends. I'm working on some entrepreneurial and writing projects (WFM) so I'm happy to take pups out in the morning and evening for walks, and longer hikes on the weekend too! I love to hike and explore rural and forested areas. Exercise is an essential part of each of my days and I'm happy to continue the exercise routines that you have in place for your pets :). Breaks for 'play' time are great for pets and for humans too! As a detail oriented person with a healthcare background, I understand the importance of providing the highest level of care to your pets. All of my airbnb references are 5 star, as I believe in the importance of leaving a place better than you found it. I've got fantastic personal references also. I'm registered with THS and House Sitters Canada. I've got a recent police check also. I'm more than happy to meet and review things in detail over zoom or meet up in person on Vancouver Island. I'm happy to provide consistent, reliable and loving care with your detailed guidance and instructions. As a former health-care worker (dental assistant and dental hygienist), I understand the importance of detailed, compassionate care and supporting your pets needs and regular routines.

About: I have taken care of dogs of my own and other people’s dogs and cats since I was around 10, and have been involved in dog training since I was 13, even training my own service dog. I also dabble in dog walking. I used to work at a pet supply store that had store cats, and one of my daily chores was taking care of them, too. So I am well versed in dog AND cat care. I am currently working part time with weekends completely freed up, so I can be available in the later afternoons, and evenings, and early mornings. At my own home I have a fenced yard, but if you need me to crate your dog or if you have your own safety preferences I am definitely willing to work with them. In your home it is obviously whatever rules you have for your house, and I will follow them.

“Zannah did an amazing job taking care of our cat while we were away. He can be hesitant towards new people and she was very patient with him. I got lots of updates and cute pictures and Juneau appreciated the company! Would absolutely recommend Zannah to anyone looking for a conscientious, caring pet sitter :)”

“Lisa was wonderfully flexible with our plans. She was prompt and very clear with details and expectations. She took great care of Jack, our dog and the house too. I felt quite secure leaving both in her hands.”

“Move to the area and we were without a pet sitter for our dear pup. Tricia took great care of Malcolm and also our house. We didn’t need to worry and we were away for a whole week. Tricia was a great communicator and gave us confidence everything would be okay. We highly recommend Tricia!”

About: I was a professional pet care provider for 2 years and have done it freelance on and off for the past 5 years. I have worked with a wide variety of pets including reptiles and birds. I’ve trained puppies and mature dogs and have battled the litter box countless times. I have always been a face that pets have trusted and warmed up to right away, even the most aggressive and timid dogs have cuddled up to me in a very short time period and some have even trusted me to train them to do tricks. Guess it’s my wild soul they see in me? I have administered medication and ointments as well. I also speak cat and dog very fluently I work from home so I am very flexible with my schedule and can do my work anywhere I want so that makes pet care very easy to fit around my work life I walk the perimeter of the yard and make sure gates are latched before the dog is let out and I stay in the yard with them when they are let out (for safety supervision and outdoor playtime). And if no yard is present then they are on leash at all times and I make sure their collar or harness is secure before attaching the leash
