About: I am a Marquette native who just returned home after years of adventures and experiences with animals in other places. I have over 20 years experience in the animal medical field, primarily in emergency and surgery and over 3 years with animal poison control. I also recently became a certified dog trainer, using positive reinforcement. Your animals will be in qualified and caring hands with me. I currently have wide open availability as my main focuses right now include caring for a family member in a nursing home and maintaining my busy household, which includes my special needs pets. With my extensive experience, you can feel at ease knowing I am very knowledgeable about animals and their needs. I know what to do if there is a problem and stay calm in emergencies.

About: Furry Friend Care experience includes caring for cat(s) needing regular injections (subcutaneous), special dietary needs, and walking multiple dogs (familiar with each other). Light grooming, as well! As a free agent with Home bases in both Munising and Marquette, I have flexibility! We all have things we care about and want to ensure are safe and cared for when we're not around. I will give care and consideration to your fur friends, their routines and safety! My house sitting, boat sitting, fur friend care, & companionship extend from Marquette to Munising, and Chocolay to Big Bay! Care to be in your home, unless special conditions are made. My current familiar is a gorgeous grey Nebelung cat, adopted as a kitten 5 years ago. She requires a special ZD diet and biweekly subcutaneous shots. I have experience attaching kitty nail caps, when she was younger, with coordinated guidance while we were sussing out an unknown skin condition that was causing her to scratch aggressively, continually opening wounds, not giving them a chance to heal. Her condition is now under control, and she no longer requires the nail caps. Prior cats I have cared for have ranged from 3 lbs to 28 lbs! Our family pooch is an English Springer Spaniel, a unique tri-color showcasing beautiful Sable color. We welcomed him to our home 6 years ago. He is our 2nd Springer in 21 years. They are such a loving, fun, and gentle breed. I have much experience in connecting with and walking rescue dogs as well, mixed breeds including Sharpei, Pit Bull, Rottie, Jack Russel, Corgie, Labradoodles, Spaniels, etc. Sanitation is the start of keeping our friends safe and healthy; exercise and fresh air are necessary as well to have a happy, healthy home life. I can provide these things for your loved furry friend(s) while you are traveling or working.

About: I can’t wait to meet your pet family! With 5 years of previous experience working in veterinary medicine and more than three decades of pet caretaking/ownership, I offer worry-free skilled and routine pet caretaking services in your home. I have a background in fear-free techniques that help me to understand and work with fearful and high-anxiety pets. I am currently employed at a veterinary referral/emergency hospital; my schedule is variable and allows me to pet sit around my shifts. *I carry a pet first aid kit at all times.* My clinical background as a veterinary assistant/receptionist includes animal handling and restraint, administering medications and injections (such as insulin and fluids), caring for hospitalized patients and providing treatments, assisting doctors with diagnostics, and educating/communicating with clients. My professional experience in both traditional and exotic veterinary practices translates to exceptional care for all species of companion animals. I am comfortable managing a wide range of medical conditions and administering medications, so you can feel confident about leaving your pet in compassionate, skillful hands. I was dubbed the “chihuahua whisperer” at work—a true badge of honor! As a dog-mom, I truly enjoy caring for animals. My pet family includes a special-needs tripod Boxer, Raegan, for whom I had a prosthetic leg designed, and a long-coated Chihuahua, Joie. My affinity for companion animals began early on. As a child, I would bring home stray dogs and cats, and I kept exotic pets including rabbits, hermit crabs, hamsters, mice, lizards, frogs, and fish. During high school, I received academic credit for interning at a veterinary clinic. As a Northern Michigan native, I had the opportunity to work with multiple sled dog teams, which proved to be very enlightening experiences! The most interesting animal-caretaking experience I have had is providing critical care to a newborn alpaca named Mittens and helping the farm owner tube-feed this special-needs baby while she was out of town (he was eventually able to stand on his own and nurse!). A major component of pet caretaking is communication. With a bachelor’s degree in scientific and technical communication from Michigan Tech, I have studied the art and science of communication. I am available to provide services in your home during the day or in the evening. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to accommodate requests for boarding in my home. Safety is paramount: I will ensure your pet's safety while caring for their needs. I also understand the level of trust required to allow a sitter into your home and provide utmost respect for your property and privacy. I would be happy to provide comprehensive companion animal care, including routine caretaking & providing companionship/giving cuddles, administering meds, exercise, and any other aspect of animal care for any species.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was 11. I’ve been trusted with walking, feeding, bathing, as well as medication administration by family and friends. I work as a night shift nurse so my schedule can be a bit different, hectic, and sparse at times, but I’m still able and very much willing to give your dog the care, love, and attention they need and deserve! I can easily crate your dog if needed. I always check fences or fence gates before letting a dog outside. If dropping in for a house visit, I like to make sure the area is safe and secure - making sure your pup doesn’t get into anything they shouldn’t, such as trash bins, food on the counter, etc.

About: Hi! I’ve grown up with dogs and love spending time with them—whether it’s going for walks, playing fetch, or just hanging out. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages and sizes, and I have experience with senior pups and those with special needs, including administering medications and offering gentle support. Every dog is unique, and I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. Pet care fits naturally into my routine! I currently have open availability through May 19th, so I’m flexible and able to accommodate a wide range of schedules. About: I have always loved animals and dogs in particular. The older I got the more present dogs have become in my life and I enjoy their company so much. My parents and my sister have a dog each, who I absolutely adore and try to spend as much time with them as possible. I have to say hi to every dog I see on the streets and my heart gets warm when I see a wiggly tail. In July 2022 I started volunteering for a local small animal shelter. It is a lot of responsibility. All those dogs have big place in my heart and I think about them all the time. Therefore I think about dog care, training and behavior a lot. Working at the animal shelter gives me a chance to meet all kinds of breeds and different characters and age groups. Unfortunately I don't have my own dogs (yet), because they don't fit my travel-lifestyle. However, I think about owning a dog every single day. I will channel all this energy of love into your dog :) I currently don't have a fixed schedule. I have multiple small jobs. I am willing to see how dog sitting goes and adjust my life accordingly. Unfortunately I can't have dogs in my apartment since my landlord is very strict about that. When I care for your dog in your house I will follow all the rules and guidelines you provide for me. I will respect your wishes. The most important thing for me is that your pupper is safe. I know that it is a big responsibility. When I was 19 yo I was an Au Pair (Nanny) for 1 year, caring for 2 small children (4 and 7 yo). I lived with the family. I am telling you this because even from young age I was responsible and respectful, and now that I am older, I am more aware of those things than ever.

About: I love pets. I treat your pets like family. I have a very welcoming home. I love puppies, older dogs, dogs with special needs. It’s all good. I work part-time from home. I’m home during regular weekday hours and I don’t usually leave home for more than a few hours at a time. I love regular walks. I take great care to ensure that guests have a safe and secure space. I emphasize safety as priority number one. I only watch one or two dogs at a time.

About: I am a 30 year old college graduate and I have loved dogs my entire life. I was never allowed to have a dog growing up so I always asked my friends if I could hang out with their dogs whenever possible. I just honestly really love dogs and want to be able to hang out with as many as possible throughout my life. I interned at a Veterinary Clinic during my senior year of high school so I have become familiar with appropriate ways to administer medications, trim toe nails, and calm anxious pups. My availability is fairly flexible and I will always make time to take care of a pooch that needs it while their pet parents are away for whatever reason they have. My schedule can sometimes be unpredictable but I always do my best to communicate that with possible clients. Open communication is key for me to help you. If I’m in your home, I treat it like my own. I was raised to respect everyone and their belongings. Your pet’s safety is always my number one priority.

About: I have many years of experience in watching pets, I grew up with 3 dogs and a cat and have taken care of neighbors pets as well. Now that I am away at college (NMU-majoring in nursing) and cannot take my pets with me I would love to be able to make sure other peoples pets are in good hands. My reliability and trustworthiness makes me a great candidate for taking care of your pets. I am currently a full time student. I do not have any other type of job so I will be around often to take care of animals. I care for them in a loving and fun way. I will only treat them with respect and love. I want to make sure I take care of them in the way that I would want someone to take care of my animals. I will make sure that your pet(s) get the exercise they need by walking/hiking/running, whichever you prefer. Because I am only going to school at the moment, staying at your house and visiting often to walk them will not be a problem.

About: My family has owned several dogs, including a German Shepherd currently named Greta! I also own a cat named Esther and I have learned a lot from living with these fur babies Every morning when I wake up/ get off work, I sit with my cat for a little bit and feed her and play with her before starting my day! I have back patio with a fence around it and I have two rooms in my apartment where I could let my cat hang out while a pet is over so the pet has a chance to roam around and have fun while staying!

About: Growing up we always had at least one dog and multiple cats. I travel often so I haven’t adopted a pup of my own. Caring for yours benefits me as much as it does you and your fur baby! I work travel contracts 13 weeks at a time. So I’m never in one location for too long. When I work it’s 3 days a week and then I take time off between contracts so my schedule opens considerably. The only down side is I’m not permanently stationed in one location. I will make sure every pet I care for stays safe whether it is in my home, your home, or out on a walk. I’ll be caring for them as if they were my own! If you have special requests or concerns regarding your pet I will happily address them individually!

“Alana was amazing! Spoiled our boy and sent lots of pictures.”

Jennifer L.Star Sitter
“I have an 8 year old Papillion who turned my home and life into a "war zone". She had severe separation anxiety as well has behavior issues like getting into the garbage the second I would turn my back. Strapped into her car seat she would jump around (stepping on various controls in my center "control" section and screaming like a banshee. I dreaded taking her anywhere, and if I left the house, I knew I would come home to her in the crate, covered in poo. I tried to give her the whole kitchen, she chewed through a baby gate and a bookcase to get to the living room. Then Jen started to work with her. Once a new behavior "clicked" with the training, Jen then taught me so that I could reinforce the wanted behaviors. (I also purposely stayed at home without leaving her for 3 weeks. Fast forward a few months and I can actually leave my home for a few hours as well as drive in relative peace! Then it culminated with me needing to be out of the country and trouble finding someone who could take my dog. So I brought her. She was SO perfect, like an animal in a move or tv show: all the walking through multiple airports for hours, sitting at gates forever, even being in a carrier under the seat in front of me for multiple long flights. Hundreds of people complimented her good behavior, especially at a very overcrowded gate! Plus she was good as gold while we were gone as well. I actually can enjoy and love my dog again, all thank to Jen's amazing gift.”

Olivia E.

“Thanks for helping in a pinch, Olivia!”

Kendra S.
“I have a reactive (due to trauma) pit bull who makes a terrible first impression to the point where people cross the street when we are walking. She is so scared of new situations and other dogs, she becomes highly reactive to the point where most people avoid her. She has separation anxiety and takes medication to help, but new people, dogs, and environments are just tough for this dog. I can't trust just anyone to care for her or walk her. Kendra's energy made an immediate positive impact on my dog and I would trust her with any dog or cat. She's compassionate, thoughtful, and detail oriented. You couldn't wish for a better pet care professional than Kendra. My only advice is get on her calendar now because it fills up quickly! Kendra has cared for pets her whole life and brings years of experience and knowledge. She's my number 1 go-to for my dog.”

Karina A.
“I would have no worries entrusting my pets to Karina A. I have been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for 19 years, so I wouldn't trust just anyone to take care of my fur-babies. Karina has never disappointed, not only do my pets love her, but she loves them and would love yours too, just like they are her own. Working with her in a veterinary clinic setting, I have seen first hand her compassion and love for all animals. Also her knowledge of the administration of medications and what to do if an emergency would arise. Trust Karina A. to care for your pets while you are away and know they are in great and capable hands.”

Payton M.
“Payton looked after my dog scout for a week and had a of specific instructions given to her for him, and she made sure to give him everything he needed and I was so happy he was in good hands! Such a great experience, highly recommend :)”

Sophia K.
“Sophie is extremely loving and caring for all animals. On top of being a vegan she owns a big puppy named Moose, two bunnies and a snake that she gives her literal all to. All of her fur babies have the best home and anybody who lets her walk their dog would be lucky!”

Veronica J.

“Communicated really well and was available on short notice. So very helpful, would call on her again when we need her!”

Jeff E.
“I have a wonderful husky/Akita/elkhound who just passed his second birthday, and two elderly old bully mixes. Due to some unexpected health issues, my wife and I have had multiple instances of short term notice travel, as well as one planned vacation, of a week. After having Jeff watch my fur babies (the younger being rather enthusiastic by nature) I wouldn't trust the job to anybody else with the task. He's kind to all of our animals brings the pup home for overnights (which he Even got a teddy bear from) and everyone is always healthy and happy upon return. If you need someone to care for your fur babies on your absence, look no further!”

Amber R.
“Amber is a caring and responsible individual when it comes to providing for pets. She watched my two rambunctious kittens for over a week while away, and I had no issues with the experience. She provided excellent communication the entirety of her gig, and regularly updated me with pictures of my kitties. My space was left clean and treated respectfully during this time as well. Would highly recommend her to any others considering her services.”

Anna S.
“In case you are looking for a pet caregiver that really loves, respects and entertains your dog, Anna is the perfect person for the job! She took care of our dog Lumi several times. Lumi is a very energetic dog who loves to play a lot - Anna never grew tired of keeping up with her energy! When she takes care of a dog, she devotes all her time to that task and is also perfectly adjusting to the dog’s character. Lumi and her have a very special bond! We can also confirm, that Anna works with positive reinforcement. She is very responsible and we trust her 100%!”

Jered O.
“Jered loves dogs and dogs love Jered; he is a dog whisperer. He believes that dogs need regular walks and enjoys getting dogs outside and active. He is a strong and dependable "pack leader," but also enjoys showering dogs with love and affection. I would whole heartedly trust Jered with my beloved animals.”
