I have over 20 years experience in the animal medical field, primarily in emergency and surgery and over 3 years with animal poison control. I also recently became a certified dog trainer, using positive reinforcement. Your animals will be in qualified and caring hands with me. About: Furry Friend Care experience includes caring for cat(s) needing regular injections (subcutaneous), special dietary needs, and walking multiple dogs (familiar with each other). Light grooming, as well! As a free agent with Home bases in both Munising and Marquette, I have flexibility! My current familiar is a gorgeous grey Nebelung cat, adopted as a kitten 5 years ago. She requires a special ZD diet and biweekly subcutaneous shots. I have experience attaching kitty nail caps, when she was younger, with coordinated guidance while we were sussing out an unknown skin condition that was causing her to scratch aggressively, continually opening wounds, not giving them a chance to heal. Her condition is now under control, and she no longer requires the nail caps. Prior cats I have cared for have ranged from 3 lbs to 28 lbs! Our family pooch is an English Springer Spaniel, a unique tri-color showcasing beautiful Sable color. We welcomed him to our home 6 years ago. He is our 2nd Springer in 21 years. They are such a loving, fun, and gentle breed. I have much experience in connecting with and walking rescue dogs as well, mixed breeds including Sharpei, Pit Bull, Rottie, Jack Russel, Corgie, Labradoodles, Spaniels, etc. Sanitation is the start of keeping our friends safe and healthy; exercise and fresh air are necessary as well to have a happy, healthy home life. I can provide these things for your loved furry friend(s) while you are traveling or working.

With 5 years of previous experience working in veterinary medicine and more than three decades of pet caretaking/ownership, I offer worry-free skilled and routine pet caretaking services in your home. I have a background in fear-free techniques that help me to understand and work with fearful and high-anxiety pets. I am currently employed at a veterinary referral/emergency hospital; my schedule is variable and allows me to pet sit around my shifts. *I carry a pet first aid kit at all times.* My clinical background as a veterinary assistant/receptionist includes animal handling and restraint, administering medications and injections (such as insulin and fluids), caring for hospitalized patients and providing treatments, assisting doctors with diagnostics, and educating/communicating with clients. The most interesting animal-caretaking experience I have had is providing critical care to a newborn alpaca named Mittens and helping the farm owner tube-feed this special-needs baby while she was out of town (he was eventually able to stand on his own and nurse!). A major component of pet caretaking is communication. With a bachelor’s degree in scientific and technical communication from Michigan Tech, I have studied the art and science of communication. I am available to provide services in your home during the day or in the evening. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to accommodate requests for boarding in my home. Safety is paramount: I will ensure your pet's safety while caring for their needs. I also understand the level of trust required to allow a sitter into your home and provide utmost respect for your property and privacy. I would be happy to provide comprehensive companion animal care, including routine caretaking & providing companionship/giving cuddles, administering meds, exercise, and any other aspect of animal care for any species.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was 11. I’ve been trusted with walking, feeding, bathing, as well as medication administration by family and friends. I work as a night shift nurse so my schedule can be a bit different, hectic, and sparse at times, but I’m still able and very much willing to give your dog the care, love, and attention they need and deserve! I can easily crate your dog if needed. I always check fences or fence gates before letting a dog outside. If dropping in for a house visit, I like to make sure the area is safe and secure - making sure your pup doesn’t get into anything they shouldn’t, such as trash bins, food on the counter, etc.

About: I have had all sorts of pets growing up my entire life. I have been responsible for taking care of dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes, turtles, and birds since before I can remember! I have never not had a pet in my home to tend to. I love animals more than anything in life and have a genuine passion for taking care of animals (: I currently work part time- mainly on the weekends so I am free most weekdays and am always flexible on the weekends! I have two dogs of my own, so I have experience gauging the specific time and needs of animals :) I have a dog and a crate trained pup of my own living on 4 acres of land for all sorts of animals to enjoy! I also have a lovely house cat and kitten who would love nothing more than to play with your fur babies, cat or dog :) Your animals will feel right at home with special companions to be accompanied by their entire stay! About: I have grown up with no less than 5 dogs all my life, I also have just under 2 years of house / pet sitting experience! About: I have always loved animals and dogs in particular. The older I got the more present dogs have become in my life and I enjoy their company so much. My parents and my sister have a dog each, who I absolutely adore and try to spend as much time with them as possible. I have to say hi to every dog I see on the streets and my heart gets warm when I see a wiggly tail. In July 2022 I started volunteering for a local small animal shelter. It is a lot of responsibility. All those dogs have big place in my heart and I think about them all the time. Therefore I think about dog care, training and behavior a lot. Working at the animal shelter gives me a chance to meet all kinds of breeds and different characters and age groups. Unfortunately I don't have my own dogs (yet), because they don't fit my travel-lifestyle. However, I think about owning a dog every single day. I will channel all this energy of love into your dog :) I currently don't have a fixed schedule. I have multiple small jobs. I am willing to see how dog sitting goes and adjust my life accordingly. Unfortunately I can't have dogs in my apartment since my landlord is very strict about that. When I care for your dog in your house I will follow all the rules and guidelines you provide for me. I will respect your wishes. The most important thing for me is that your pupper is safe. I know that it is a big responsibility. When I was 19 yo I was an Au Pair (Nanny) for 1 year, caring for 2 small children (4 and 7 yo). I lived with the family. I am telling you this because even from young age I was responsible and respectful, and now that I am older, I am more aware of those things than ever.

About: I love pets. I treat your pets like family. I have a very welcoming home. I love puppies, older dogs, dogs with special needs. It’s all good. I work part-time from home. I’m home during regular weekday hours and I don’t usually leave home for more than a few hours at a time. I love regular walks. I take great care to ensure that guests have a safe and secure space. I emphasize safety as priority number one. I only watch one or two dogs at a time.

About: I am a 30 year old college graduate and I have loved dogs my entire life. I was never allowed to have a dog growing up so I always asked my friends if I could hang out with their dogs whenever possible. I just honestly really love dogs and want to be able to hang out with as many as possible throughout my life. I interned at a Veterinary Clinic during my senior year of high school so I have become familiar with appropriate ways to administer medications, trim toe nails, and calm anxious pups. My availability is fairly flexible and I will always make time to take care of a pooch that needs it while their pet parents are away for whatever reason they have. My schedule can sometimes be unpredictable but I always do my best to communicate that with possible clients. Open communication is key for me to help you. If I’m in your home, I treat it like my own. I was raised to respect everyone and their belongings. Your pet’s safety is always my number one priority.

About: I have many years of experience in watching pets, I grew up with 3 dogs and a cat and have taken care of neighbors pets as well. Now that I am away at college (NMU-majoring in nursing) and cannot take my pets with me I would love to be able to make sure other peoples pets are in good hands. My reliability and trustworthiness makes me a great candidate for taking care of your pets. I am currently a full time student. I do not have any other type of job so I will be around often to take care of animals. I care for them in a loving and fun way. I will only treat them with respect and love. I want to make sure I take care of them in the way that I would want someone to take care of my animals. I will make sure that your pet(s) get the exercise they need by walking/hiking/running, whichever you prefer. Because I am only going to school at the moment, staying at your house and visiting often to walk them will not be a problem.

About: My family has owned several dogs, including a German Shepherd currently named Greta! I also own a cat named Esther and I have learned a lot from living with these fur babies Every morning when I wake up/ get off work, I sit with my cat for a little bit and feed her and play with her before starting my day! I have back patio with a fence around it and I have two rooms in my apartment where I could let my cat hang out while a pet is over so the pet has a chance to roam around and have fun while staying!

About: Growing up we always had at least one dog and multiple cats. I travel often so I haven’t adopted a pup of my own. Caring for yours benefits me as much as it does you and your fur baby! I work travel contracts 13 weeks at a time. So I’m never in one location for too long. When I work it’s 3 days a week and then I take time off between contracts so my schedule opens considerably. The only down side is I’m not permanently stationed in one location. I will make sure every pet I care for stays safe whether it is in my home, your home, or out on a walk. I’ll be caring for them as if they were my own! If you have special requests or concerns regarding your pet I will happily address them individually!
