My name is Lauren Miller and I would love to be your pet's best friend! I currently have over 20 years of experience working in the pet industry and caring for client's pets! This includes dogs, cats, exotics and even livestock. I'm currently working towards becoming a certified professional dog trainer and up to date on all the latest science-based training techniques. I specialize in working with fearful dogs. I am always continuing my education by going to seminars and training classes with my own dogs. My training methods are gentle and based in positive reinforcement and relationship building. I have two older dogs named Zoe and Phoenix, a younger pup named Alice and two kitties, Pandora and Lilly. In the past I have owned chinchillas, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, goats and chickens. I also have experience caring for large farm animals including horses, donkeys and cattle. Why I love working with dogs: My whole life has always revolved around animals! I started training dogs at the young age of 12 through our local 4-H program and a few years later, I was doing competition obedience trials and agility. When I was 18 I went to groom school and became an all breed dog groomer. After 13 years of grooming, I decided I wanted to get back into doing my favorite thing: training! I spent 3 years working closely with a dog behavior consultant and helping owners train their dogs at a training facility in Portland, Oregon. I just love figuring dogs out, why they do what they do and why they don't do what we want them to do. I absolutely love it when the light bulb inside a dog's head comes on and they begin to understand their people. It's the best thing in the entire world.
