I currently spend most my time as a handyman on Task Rabbit but I love taking care of dogs. I used to have a 17-year-old Jack Russel myself so I know how convenient having a dependable person take care of your dog can be for us dog-owners. In my free time, I love taking long walks in Rock Creek Park, go play tennis (i have an endless supply of tennis balls) or hang out with my friends. My dog loves staying with Thijs, as evidenced by the photo updates of her happily cuddling with him! Also, I am very grateful that when my flight was delayed and I was stuck 2 days longer than anticipated he made it very seamless to keep her and take care of her longer.
My dog was very happy with Thijs. She stayed with him for 5 days, and Thijs sent picture updates each day so I was able to see what fun she was having. Thijs is also very responsive in terms of communication. I will definitely and happily have Thijs dogsit again!
Thijs was great about checking in daily on our kitty! We were anxious about leaving the cat alone for such a long time, but seeing how happy the cat looked in all of the pictures that Thijs took was very reassuring.
Thijs has been walking Lai Lani four days a week for a month now and I’m absolutely at ease and confident knowing she’s in good hands! A gem of a person … highly recommend! I couldn’t have asked for better

I make sure they have access to food and water, for dogs having a spot somewhere uniquely theirs is important for cats i make sure their litter ox is clean, and have access to water and food. I am always down to play with any animal so it depends on how they react to my energy, some are in the mood to play others are focused on their food, others want to be left alone...

I usually do an initial meet and greet with the dog and their owner(s). Maybe go for a walk and get a feel for the dog and his or her behavior. Once we establish a positive relationship, we can discuss dog sitting services.
A typical day
In the morning I have a coffee first before anything else then we let the dogs out for a quick pee in the backyard, we finish out coffee and then go for a walk. During the day we work and play in between, some dogs will be let out for small walks but a quicker one then in the mornings and evenings. Then in the evening around 7pm we go for a long evening walk. Later on mostly chilling and a quick pee if needed

Availability
I work from home in the mornings and out on the road in the afternoon fixing things for people. I am available for walks around noon and after 7pm on weekdays and free for dog boarding, and walking on the weekends
