ICU/ER & Neuro Vet Tech - COVID vax
Pet care experience
Hey there! My name is Maddie. I have a vast amount (ten years worth!) of specialized veterinary experience as a veterinary technician, groomer, and kennel manager. I currently work as an upper level ICU/ER and neurology veterinary technician at one of the top practices in the country. And yes - we do do brain and spinal surgery in neurology! I am also RECOVER pet CPR/Advanced Life Support certified and Fear Free Professional Certified. I started my veterinary education and ignited my true passion when I landed an exclusive internship with a veterinary internist at very well-known specialty practice in North Carolina at age 16. My first job was at a local cat rescue when I graduated high school at 17 years old. I went to veterinary technician school at Purdue University and additionally completed a college level course on animal behavior. I know how to and am comfortable administering injectable and subcutaneous medication, including, but not limited to, insulin. I am an absolute cat lover, and slowly but surely, my life has turned to revolve around them, at and outside of work. I am a volunteer with a group that helps owners with cats with a deadly illness called FIP in my free time and I also help them navigate the difficulties of treatment. I am also pre-veterinary studies at GSU and hope to eventually go into feline research, specifically retroviruses, like FIV and Feline Leukemia, and Feline Infectious Peritonitis(FIP). A dream I hope to accomplish in my life is owning a special needs cat sanctuary. I am also comfortable with handling dog aggressive and reactive dogs. I send many pictures of your pup(s) and/or cat(s) hanging out and having fun with my dogs and I. I also send daily updates of your pup(s) and/or cat(s) and their adventures. I cater their stay to the individual dog, all based on their normal routine and your preferences. I specialize in smaller, senior dogs, but I love the bigger ones as well! I also adore cats, and they tend to reciprocate the feeling! I have a passion for what I do, I love cats and dogs, and I can't wait to work with yours!
Reviews
Highly recommend Maddie! I always feel comfortable leaving because I know she is taking good care of our pet!
Love Maddie and how well she takes care of Nook
Maddie was great! Onyx loves her and we will be booking with Maddie again.
Maddie does an amazing job. She gives thorough notes in the Rover card and amazing pictures! She makes sure to take time to play with our picky cat and pays close attention to her needs. I highly recommend her. She's the sitter we plan to use each time.

Information Maddie C. would like to know about your pet
The serious things I would like to know the following: -Temperament -Potty training status -Are they crate trained? -Who their vet is -Anything I should watch for -Food/dog/cage aggressiveness -Allergies, health issues, and medication -Favorite treat? -Favorite toy? -Favorite playtime activity? -Couch potato or play time aficionado? And anything else you feel is pertinent! Breed wise, I do not have a preference, but my favorite dogs to take care of are the senior small dogs. My favorite cats, of course, are special needs and senior. They're the sweetest!
A typical day
I cater every furbaby's experience to the individual pet, so there is a great variety of possibilities! For dogs, we can go on walks through the neighborhood and to a nearby park! Hiking is a definite option as well. We can play fetch and cuddling is a must! For cats, I let them decide what they feel comfortable with. Every visit, I go in with Feliway pheromone spray on my clothes so they feel safe being around me. I also play anti anxiety music for the more nervous ones. If they just like a companion who sits near them, I will do that as well.

Availability
I work full-time, so care does unfortunately have to revolve around my work at this time. That being said, if you have a time you need, please feel free to ask and I can see if I can make it happen. I primarily do drop ins, but am open to walks.
