“Alexis was great with our Archie! She was attentive to his needs, gave him lots of love and nice long walks, which he loves! She also sent us pictures throughout the day. We’ll ,without a doubt, book with her again in the future!”

“Scotty was wonderful, took a last minute booking for us and took great care of our dog. He was super responsive and sent us photos of Arlo playing. Scotty’s has an energy about him that puts you at ease about leaving your dog. You can tell he really loves them and that they’ll be in good hands. I would highly recommend him. Arlo is fast asleep from a short but fun stay with Scotty.”

“We had a wonderful first experience with Turin! Tilly needs to be the only dog, so finding someone who could give her individual attention and make her feel comfortable was very important to us. Turin took the time to sit with us while Tilly explored her surroundings and adjusted at her own pace. She had such a calm, kind way with Tilly, and we felt very comfortable leaving her in her care. It was obvious that Tilly enjoyed spending time with Turin, and she came home happy after having a great time. It means so much to find someone you can trust with your dog, especially when they have individual needs. We are so happy we found Turin. We would absolutely recommend her!”

“Wow! Our ‘boys’ had an awesome time with Debra, Vic and Hersh. They played all day and are knocked out tired. Thank you so much for taking such great care of them. We were able to go about our day worry free knowing our boys were in such wonderful hands. It’s early and they are in bed snoring! Your ‘kids’ will be in great hands. They are absolutely fabulous and the playground, it’s doggie heaven!!!”

“Our Buddy seemed to be well taken care of for the couple days we were away. Pictures were sent to keep us posted and a nice little goody bag was sent home with him. Thank you for your care of our little guy!”

About: Our property is a lush 5 acres. We have a fenced-in dog run, but we have lots of land for walks. We have two beautiful labradors: Abilene and Odessa (8 years old). They like having friends over to socialize and play. You can rest assured that we will treat your dog like one of our family. We love dogs, so care is easy! Our home is well suited for dog naps, daily walks, and midnight howls. My wife and I, as well as our two Labradors will give your dog a family to stay with while you are gone. Our home and property are large enough to support the individual needs of each dog. Two levels in our home and a large property allow us to facilitate special requests and routines.

About: Hi, I'm Manuela I've had dogs my entire life, and caring for them is truly my passion. I've also volunteered as a foster home for dogs rescued from high-risk shelters, so I have experience with pups from all kinds of backgrounds especially those needing a little extra love and patience. At home, I live with my sweet, spayed female dog named Mocca. She's very friendly and gets along well with others, so your pup will have a built-in buddy to play with and feel at ease around! I work from home full-time, so I’m always available to give your dog the attention, care, and companionship they deserve throughout the day. I’m also available to go for a walk or take a trip to the dog park since it’s only 5 min away from home. We also have a fenced yard, giving your pup a safe and secure space to play, explore, and burn off some energy while being safe.

This was my first time ever boarding any of my dogs. Everything went better then I could imagine. I received daily updates and photos. Even videos. Highly recommend.”

“Trista was absolutely amazing with Kobe! 🐾❤️ We were away for 5 days, and from the moment we dropped Kobe off, we felt completely comfortable knowing he was in great hands. Trista was caring, attentive, and treated Kobe like he was her own. She kept us updated while we were away, which gave us so much peace of mind. Kobe came home happy, relaxed, and clearly had a wonderful time. It’s not easy leaving your dog with someone, but Trista made the entire experience stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable. Thank you, Trista, for taking such great care of our Kobe! We will definitely be booking with you again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Silver Spring
Wow. Jessica came through with flying colors during a family emergency! I think she did an incredible job! She picked the dog up from the apartment, took care of an aging dog on meds, offered to feed him human food because he ran out of prescription food, and dealt with the accidents from a traumatized 18 year old pup. I would recommend Jessica in a heartbeat. Thank you, Jessica!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Silver Spring home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Silver Spring.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Silver Spring sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
