Alexis was great! We had a last minute need to book a pet sitter and had some difficulty finding someone with all the dates open. We luckily found Alexis and she couldn’t have been more perfect. We did the meet and greet the day before leaving on our trip and knew immediately that we could count on her to be reliable compassionate with our dachshund. We could tell that he really liked her. She was very responsive in all communication and provided many great pics of our little guy while we were away. We will recommend her to our friends and make her our first choice for future bookings. Can’t say enough about her calm disposition and caring attitude. Thank-you, thank-you Alexis for being there when we needed you. Since we were away for a family death and funeral, knowing that we had someone as trustworthy as you to take care of our pet enabled us to focus on family and make the trip as best as it could.

I’m offering pet sitting services for anyone who needs help for a few days each week, weekends, or even longer stays while you’re away. We don’t venture out as much so I’m here to help you enjoy your vacation while you take your time away where your fur babies will be taken care of.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was very young, especially dogs and even reptiles! I’ve spent many many hours researching different breeds of dogs so I could understand what they needed to be happy and healthy. I can even do bath times! With me, your pets will be in the best of care. I’m a stay at home mom who loves playing with pets and taking them on walks and play dates. I have a large vehicle which allows for me to transport pets easily. If you need them brought to the groomer or the vet? I’m your girl! I’m currently available to pupsit on weekends with weekdays on a case to case basis, I have two very friendly dogs who love making new friends! They are both crate trained which will allow those pets with a fear of others to thrive. My yard is fenced in as well and I have a 5yr old who loves to play with animals and go on very long walks

About: Passionate about caring for your furry friend. When life happens count on me to care for your baby, I think it's important for our pets to have someone to watch them when we are away or busy. I am currently on summer break from work. I work as a part time aide at an elementary school and looking to stay busy and share my love to your pets. I am available everyday. I have a fenced backyard that they can freely roam in and can cage them if you would prefer that. I am okay with indoor dogs and would love for them to cuddle on the couch with me if that's what they like :) my main priority is for your pet to be as stress free as they can be when you are away. I have 2 friendly miniature poodles of my own(I can easily separate them, if needed).

About: Animal care has always been a passion of mine. Currently taking care of a pack of French Bulldogs Growing up I had 5-6 dogs I was responsible for feeding, grooming, exercising ect. Professionally I have worked in kennels for about 6-8years, ranging in groups of 2-50. As a kennel technician I was responsible for maintaining a leveled space for everyone to play and exercise or even relax. I do have experience in medication administration, oral, topical, rectum, shots. I have also a year of being a veterinary assistant which is what I'm currently pursuing and absolutely love it. My schedule is wide open currently! I just moved back to the Central Valley and I'm flexible. I have school online for Veterinary Technology and have started school for LVN as well. While doing a house sitting or drop-in, I always greet the animals check food and water bowls, make my way to the yard and ALWAYS check the yard before letting out animals. I will walk around the house to make sure there were no accidents or anything out of sorts really. I make sure doors are closed that need to be and always give the love that's needed.

About: I was raised in a home with many pets, which has taught me a lot about how to responsibly and lovingly care for many types of animals. I am a current student, so I am available most of the time until October. June and July I will be busy during most weekdays for a volunteer program, but weekends are open!! August and September weekdays and weekends work for me. I believe that communication is key for understanding and creating a respectful and caring environment for each pet. I’m excited to talk with you and get to know the specific needs of your animals.

Taylor was a godsend. Having just moved to Merced, I was worried how to get someone trustworthy to take care of my pup in what seemed like an overwhelming sea of available but under-reviewed sitters. She worked with my schedule to figure out a good time for sitting, was communicative and really set my anxieties at ease when we first met her. I cannot thank her enough for the care she took of my dog, and recommend her to anyone who is looking for a loving, welcoming, and responsible person through Rover.

Kaitlyn is awesome. We are so happy to have found such a great pet sitter to look after our pup and cat when we travel. Kaitlyn is a really great communicator and does such a great job. She is flexible and has helped us out on a number of occasions when we really needed a pet sitter for a spontaneous trip. We are just so appreciative. Kaitlyn is organized and very clean. We never have to worry when we are gone. Thank you so much!

About: Thank you for reviewing my profile! I am unable to edit, but my preferred name is Astro. I am a 23-year-old ag-business student with a minor in animal science. I am unavailable from 8a-12pm on weekdays, but I am available at any other time to take care of any pets you may have. I have a passion for animals because I enjoy giving them love, just as they give love back to us. This June 2026, I have cared for my former professor's 2 dogs, cat, and goat for two different weeks. I will be housesitting for her this June 21-28, so I will only have availability for walks and drop-ins at this time. I make sure to give all animals extra love while their owners are away. If no walks are bought for housesits, I will give one walk per stay, and if my schedule allows, I'll provide additional. I am comfortable with farm animals as well, if you need care and feeding for them. My pet background: I have 2 years of experience as a kennel attendant: sanitizing kennels, taking dogs for walks, feeding, and medicating both dogs and cats. I also have a few months of experience as a vet assistant: restraining animals for vaccines and nail trims. I currently have a 5-year-old chihuahua and a 4-year-old domestic shorthair cat. My chihuahua has seizures and requires a specific feeding and medication schedule, so I can easily adapt to your pets if they have additional needs. Since I was 12, I would adopt rabbits from the flea market and take care of them until I was in high school. I adopted my chihuahua as a one-month-old in 2020, and have been taking care of her ever since. My passion for animals led me to earn my AA in Animal Science, and expanded my interest in caring for farm animals as well. Animals make me happy, and after my kennel attendant job ended, I decided to try Rover out to continue working in the field I enjoy! June 21-28 I am booked for housesittng, but available for drop-ins and walks. My earliest availability starts 1:30pm on Monday thru Thursdays as I work 8a-12p. Fridays I work 10a-2/6pm so I can drop in before 9a or after 2/6pm. House-Sitting information: I am unavailable to provide services in my home, but I am available for house-sitting in your home on weekends. I have taken care of my former professor's 2 dogs in her home while she has been away a week + weekends, along with her two outside pets of a cat and goat. On weekdays, I can house-sit, but I will be in and out for personal, child, or pet errands. I'd like to note that on weekends, I will need to feed and give potty breaks for my own pets at home, but will return to your pets once finished. In my client's home, I treat it with the same respect as I would in my own home. I also make sure to keep it clean and organized as the owner has left it. I don't wish to make my client's uncomfortable, so I will make sure to ask before doing anything that wasn't previously discussed. For house-sitting, I provide basic cleaning before leaving your home (sweeping and mopping the floors).

About: With seven years of experience caring for dogs, rabbits, goats, and guinea pigs, I understand how to meet different pets’ needs. As an animal science major, I have hands-on experience with giving medication and checking vitals. What sets me apart from other dog sitters is my mix of real-world experience and animal health knowledge, ensuring pets get the best care possible. As a full-time student with a part-time job, my schedule is flexible. I have evenings and nights open, and from Wednesday to Friday, I’m available after 1 pm. On Wednesdays, I have no classes at all, and I’m free all weekends. This allows me to provide reliable pet care when my clients need it most. I provide personalized care based on each pet’s needs, whether in my home or a client’s. This includes feeding, fresh water, exercise, and companionship. I ensure pets feel comfortable and safe, sticking to their routine as much as possible. With my background in animal science, I can also administer medication and monitor their health. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or special care for older or anxious pets, I prioritize their well-being and happiness.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs from the puppy stage to the senior stage. I started at a young age being raised around animals. I currently work Monday through Friday. My husband is always home for the most part. Someone is always home! My household absolutely love animals! We make the flexibility aspect work between my husband and I. I have a fenced yard. If your dog needs to be crated at this time, I do ask you bring your own crate but, I do have space for it. There is a park nearby where I live where I can take your furrbaby too as well. For safety, I deep clean prior to each furrbaby this is to ensure safety within the vaccinated and unvaccinated dogs. FAQs for House Sitting - Sierra Vista

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 137 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sierra Vista. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sierra Vista walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sierra Vista maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sierra Vista choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sierra Vista. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
