About Great Dane Rescue of the Commonwealth
GDROC is a 501c3, nonprofit rescue organization incorporated by the state of Virginia. Founded in 2005 and based in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, GDROC operates solely via volunteers and foster homes.
GDROC adopts to families within their local southeastern Virginia region only. Their organizational mission is to take in, rehabilitate and rehome purebred Great Danes, who are no longer wanted, by placing them in foster care and carefully screening potential adopters to ensure that the perfect forever homes are found. In addition to rescuing Great Danes in Virginia, GDROC aims to educate the public about the breed.
