“Lisa is wonderful! She took great care of our cats while we were out of the country for two weeks. I felt a lot better knowing someone was also keeping an eye on the house and bringing our packages inside. Can’t recommend her enough!”

“Tara was fantastic! She communicated really well, did a great job cleaning up after our cat and watering our plants, left us lots of pictures, and even a kind note and some treats. Thank you Tara!!”

“Tiffany, you did an amazing job taking care of my hoof babies. I loved the daily updates on how everything was going. It was good to know they were in good hands while I was out of town :) Thank you so much!!”

“Mallory took great care of our dog, Nell, during her drop-in visits. She walked Nell, made sure she always had fresh water, and kept me updated after each visit with details about her bathroom breaks, attitude, and activity level. Mallory was also incredibly flexible and accommodating by meeting with us early in the morning before I left for work so she could do a meet-and-greet and get to know Nell beforehand. I really appreciated her reliability, communication, and genuine care for my dog. I would absolutely recommend her and would be happy to book with her again.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I must say Alexandra T was fabulous.. I will be a returning customer for sure. She was so good with our Piper.. So much attention to detail. Thank you so much for taking care of our baby.. I recommend Alexandra T to anyone! Very impressed!”

About: Hi! I’m a dependable, caring animal lover who understands that pets are family. I provide a safe, loving environment where your dog will receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while you’re away. My goal is to treat every dog as if they were my own and make their stay as stress free and enjoyable as possible. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I work full time Monday through Thursday, but I make pet care a priority! During the week I am able to go before work, during my lunch, and after work for drop ins. I can also try to work with your needs if able. I have Fridays off and full availability on the weekends! I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can run, explore, and get their energy out through supervised outdoor play. Inside, dogs are treated like family. They’ll have a cozy place to rest, lots of love and attention, and plenty of opportunities for play, cuddles, and exercise. My goal is to make every guest feel safe, comfortable, and right at home while you’re away!
“Bre did a fantastic job with our three cats! We have two senior cats who are a bit high maintenance and one younger one who is sweet but energetic, and she didn’t mind the list of details to keep everyone content while we were out of town! Extremely thorough, great communication, would definitely recommend Bre and will use her again!”

About: I've been pet sitting for friends and neighbors since around the time I entered by teenage years. I've also worked in two veterinary clinics that offered animal boarding. As such, I'm experienced at caring for a variety of both cats and dogs, as well as administering medication, following strict diets, and cleaning up messes. My coworkers wpuld pften request me by name to help deal with larger or chunkier dogs. I'm currently attending college with classes Monday through Thursday. However, I have no exceptionally early classes, and my school day is always over by 2pm. The rest of my schedule is flexible enough to work around pet sitting with little issue. Friends and neighbors have trusted me in their homes to care for their pets for years, and I've never broken that trust. I always make sure to clean up any messes caused by pets, report strange behavior or possible symptoms of illness to the owner, and lock the doors behind me as I leave. I also make sure every pet gets plenty of attention from me.
About: I’ve taken care of pets for my friends and family since I was a child. Taking them for walks, giving them baths, house sitting or bringing them to my house to care for them. I’ve always loved it! I have many years and types of animal experience. Let me know how I can help you out! I’m currently working from home- meaning I can be at your house 24/7 to care for your animals! I have a flexible job so walks, medications, and love and attention to your pet with be my priority! When staying in clients homes, I assure the animals stick to the schedules created by their parents! It’s important to me to keep the whole house running while my client is traveling- mail, trash, lawn services, etc. can all continue like normal with me there to keep things running smoothly! I also beleive it’s my job to leave a home “better than I found it” so you can return home with no extra chores from my stay!
About: I have mostly dog sat in the past, but love cats just as much! I have assisted some dogs with health conditions take their medicine. Will strictly follow your preferred pet care according to dogs' or cats' needs. I work M-F, 8-5 but have flexibility. Sometimes I travel or work remotely. If working remote, I can drop in as needed or take my work with me if an animal requires more attention. I have always loved animals growing up. I do not currently have in-home accomodations for pets. However, I would love to meet and love on your pets in their home, and can even assist you by keeping the home clean before your return! My motto is, I like to leave things better than I found them. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
“Hannah got to meet my roommates dog and showed her just as much love as she always has Snoopy! Ive felt so awful asking for help last minute, but Hannah has done a wonderful job of assuring it is not a problem!”

I would love to complete any special requests or just give them some extra hugs! Of course until they know me, I allow them to get comfortable around me before making any big moves!
About: I believe all animals are “good boys” and “good girls“. Unfortunately, as an owner, you can’t always be by your pet’s side so please allow me to be your second pair of eyes, ears, and voice. I am a proud dog and cat mom so I am familiar with most of your pets’ behavior. You will absolutely receive updates regarding your pets wellbeing and the occasional cute pic :) I hope you consider me as your care taker and I look forward to hearing from you! I work through the weekdays between 7am-4pm and get a 1 hour lunch break. My weekends are typically free for house sitting/ frequent drop ins. I will accommodate to the owner’s rules and routines as well as I can. Your pets’ needs are prioritized during my care regardless of my schedule.
About: I’ve taken care of many dogs. I am also experienced in cats, I’ve had one my whole life. I know how to take care of newborn kittens and puppies. I am an experienced dog bather. I am home most the week with my fur babies. I have my own pets so I know how important it is to make your fur baby feel safe, I’m 100% down for cuddles and just making sure they get all they need!

About: I am an owner of two Jack Russell Terriers who make my life incredibly entertaining. Both of them are rescue pets. The relationship I've built with them has introduced me to a whole new part of myself. I love to dote on others' fur babies as well. I'm a professional musician who does this as a way of supplementing my income, so my schedule is *usually* accommodating to almost any pet owner's needs. I prefer to do drop ins and some house sitting. I don't typically want to bring my own pups along with me until I know your dog's temperament. Even then, it is rare. They are beginning to show that they’re senior pups. If you think I'll fit your needs, don't hesitate to call. I'f I'm available, your pups will be well cared for and smothered with affection.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Sheffield
If there were 10 stars, I would give them all to Lisa. She was amazing with my cat. I tell everyone that my cat is neurotic. She doesn't like anyone, even me a lot of the time. She bonded with Lisa right away. I think she is indeed the Cat Whisperer! She was so attentive. Not only did she send pictures from every visit but sweet notes about her visit. If she happen to be running a little late for her scheduled visits, she would let me know why. On her last day she even ran the vacuum and cleaned up so I wouldn't have to do it after my vacation. I highly recommend Lisa to take care of all of your fur babies. I didn't worry about my Callie one minute while I was gone. Lisa is precious and I was so blessed to have her with my kitty.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
