“Shayla is my go to for my old men little ones. They don’t warm up to anyone but have to her! She spoils them from the moment they walk into her house until they leave! We have been utilizing her services for 3 years and would definitely continue to!”

“Great experience - this was our first time leaving our little guy. Ashley was super responsive, answered my questions and sent photos and videos. She also sent us home with a goodie bag :) highly recommend!”

“Mary and Nathan were wonderful and caring to my pup! Mary was very responsive with pictures and frequent check-ins. My dog had the BEST time at Mary & Nathan's and can't wait to visit them again!”

“Kamal was very attentive to my pet and communicated very well. He made sure to send lots of cute pictures and updates while he boarded my dog Max. I would definitely book with him again!”

“Gen was wonderful from start to finish. She is great at communication, has the perfect home and yard, sent pics and updates while we were away, and wasn't bothered by our Birdy's extreme excitement when she first got there. I would definitely love to book her again the next time we go out of town.”

About: I grew up with family dogs and I have a spoiled little doodle mutt of my own. Your baby will be spoiled rotten in my care ❤️❤️ I often dog sit for family and friends for free since I love having a playmate for my Sushi (my dog) and now they’ve suggested I make it a side hustle. Also, I’m a nurse so I can take good care of both people and doggies. I work 3 12-hour shifts in a week so I’m basically free for 4 days. I also have my husband who will help in taking good care of your pets. Believe it or not he is an even more softie for doggies than me. We’ve been wanting to get a second dog so I’m hoping to keep him busy with foster babies and forget about it for now until we can afford to have another furbaby 😊 I have a fenced yard and 1 very cute doodle to keep your pets company. I also make it a point to walk my dog twice a day and bring her to the dog park nearby. I also often do a pup cup run with my baby so I can definitely bring your baby along and free pup cup on me 😊

About: I have experience caring for dogs and cats with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and needs. I enjoy making sure every pet feels comfortable, safe, and loved while their family is away. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, medication when needed, and plenty of attention and cuddles. I’m working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time of time to care for your pets! I’m available for boarding Friday-Sunday, and weekdays after 1pm I have a fenced in backyard and a friendly dog to keep your pets company. I can easily create your dog if need. At your home I’ll take care of all animals making sure they get the care they need and making sure they have fresh water and use the bathroom.
“Rayna has watched my super chill Great Pyrenees twice now. She totally gets it. She has a dog friendly place, loves all dogs big and small and I really feel like she cares. Dolly can be a little bit of a turd (stubborn) but Rayna rolls with it. Thank you!”
About: With over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, my life has truly revolved around man's best friend. I have raised dogs from energetic puppies to gentle seniors, learning how to read their body language, manage different temperaments, and anticipate their needs. Dogs are not just a job for me—they are a heartbeat for me. Over the last two decades, I have handled everything from administering daily medications and managing strict dietary routines to providing adequate playtime and basic obedience reinforcement. With over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, my life has truly revolved around man's best friend. I have raised dogs from energetic puppies to gentle seniors, learning how to read their body language, manage different temperaments, and anticipate their needs. Dogs are not just a job for me—they are a lifelong passion. Over the last two decades, I have handled everything from administering daily medications and managing strict dietary routines to providing structured play and basic obedience reinforcement. I have a massive, fenced yard where your pup can securely run, play fetch, and burn off energy safely throughout the day!! A typical day/schedule would flow similar to this: Mornings: * 7:00 AM: Morning potty break in the huge yard, followed by a fresh breakfast and water. * 8:00 AM: A brisk morning walk or active fetching session to burn off early energy before work starts. * 9:00 AM: As I log onto work, dogs settle into my office. They can snooze on a cozy dog bed right next to my desk or look out the window. Afternoon: Play Breaks and Stretch Time • 12:00 PM: Lunch break! We head out to the big yard for 30 minutes of supervised play, sniffing, and sunshine. Afternoons/Evenings: 3:00 PM: A quick stretch and potty break. If a puppy needs a strict schedule or a senior dog needs frequent relief, this is when they get extra attention. Evening: Wind Down with added Hugs/Cuddling/Loving up on them! • 5:00 PM: Workday ends. We celebrate with dinner and a long, relaxing evening walk around the neighborhood. • 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Couch time. Dogs hang out with me in the living room for brushing, belly rubs, and plenty of love. • 10:30 PM: Final potty break in the fenced yard before a safe, peaceful bedtime. Daily sweeps of yard for any hazards; constant supervision, especially during yard times and feeding; transparency in meet ups, daily video or photo updates can be provided to help with any uneasiness or anxiety; leashes used during walks; this list is not all inclusive.

I also make sure your home is respected and secure while keeping you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
“Anthony was amazing. He picked Charley up and brought him home. He was very flexible with my schedule. And Charley got the best care. Charley came home happy and tired from the dog park. I will be using Anthony in the future! It is great to feel comfortable about where your pet is staying while you are away. I couldn’t be more happier!!! Thank you so much Anthony. 😊😁”

“Layla was phenomenal with Suki! She kept me completely at ease the entire time with regular updates, photos, and videos. It was obvious Suki was receiving so much attention and love—honestly, when I went to pick her up, I wasn't entirely sure she wanted to come home! We will definitely be booking with Layla again. Highly recommend!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Shawnee home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Shawnee.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Shawnee sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in GA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
