“Hailey is the best! She took such great care of our kitty Ollie and even sent us daily updates and pictures! She truly understands animals and caters to their specific needs. We will definitely rebook her!”
“Erica did a fantastic job taking care of my furball! She communicated clearly and was very polite, Maggie must’ve liked her as well because she came out to visit each time Erica came by. I will definitely reach out to Erica in the future!”
About: I've been a Dog mom since I was a child, spoiled pets are the BEST. Give me all the attitude. Just looking for a bit of extra income and a chance to up my daily step count. My kids are in school starting at 8am, I dont clock into my part time local job until 230 and I only work until 430. This gives me all day and all evening to be at Fidos Beck and call. Toys, treats, pets, and play are all apart of a happy dogs day. Dogs have feelings and emotions and if you just listen they'll tell you what they need.
“I was super grateful to have found such a highly recommended sitter for a very much needed short trip. It was a relief to have someone look after my pets and know that everything was handled at home. My pets were well cared for, and I appreciated being able to take my trip with peace of mind.”
“Charlene is terrific! So patient and kind with my two crazy dogs. Couldn’t ask for a better, more loving person to check in on them. She has been more than willing to spend time with my large dog who has terrible anxiety and isn’t great with strangers but he took to her immediately which is how I knew I made the right choice when choosing her as a sitter. So thankful we found her!”
About: I have had dogs my entire life, as a four years ago I got an orange cat and could not choose between either for the life of me. I cannot wait to meet and take care of your fur babies :) I am currently in nursing school only taking up 2 to 3 days a week. I am now available for boarding at my home so feel free to look into that as well!! I make sure that the bowls are always full, or their food has been given on time along with medication if needed. I also make sure they are getting as much outside time as they can get.
“Jennifer is amazing! She has a gift with cats. I have rather shy cats, 4 out of 6 will hide with strangers. She was able to win 5 out of 6 over immediately. Even with the one that stayed hidden she would keep in contact with me to make sure she is OK as I have cameras up to make sure they are good. She did everything we asked and made sure our Gnomio had his diabetic medicine every day. This was the first time I was able to go on vacation and relax knowing my babies were well taken care of. I will definitely be a repeat customer.”
About: I have about 6 year experience with dogs any where from puppies to seniors. I have trained dogs mine included. His name is bullet and he is 4. I work during the week so I’ll be available weekends and some evenings. Time will vary but I will accept as much as I can I’ve got a fenced in yard I live on a large property. I have two dogs very sweet and I don’t like next to a road.
“Angelica did a wonderful job taking care of my cats while I was away! She made sure their kitty litter box was clean each day. She made sure they got fresh water and food each day. She took the time to reassure my cats and to play with them as they became more comfortable. I loved the pictures and texts she provided each day. This was my first time to use a cat sitter and I loved her¹ I absolutely plan on using her again to care of my cats the next time I go on a trip!?”
About: Hi, I’m Cheyenne! Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve cared for everything from family pets to livestock, worked at a horse ranch, veterinary clinics, and currently at a pet adoption center. I’m comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and personalities and love keeping pets happy, safe, and loved. I am currently working full-time, but I am available Sunday through Thursday after 6 PM. I will be available most Fridays and Saturdays at anytime. Depending on my clients living situation I can let the dogs out to play in a fenced in area or take them on a walk with a leash.
“Adelaide did an amazing job with even our most anxious pup. She took her time and gave them all the time they needed to run and have social interaction. She kept us updated and shared pictures and videos to help ease our worries about leaving the pups behind. We will be using her again!”
“Rachel did an excellent job when watching our dogs while we were out of town! Her communication was incredible, and I loved the pictures and videos. She was never in a hurry and sometimes stayed longer than expected. We will definitely be using Rachel in the future.”
“Alexis was a life saver for us being able to take care of our two cats on short notice while we were in the hospital. She did an excellent job and the cats seemed well taken care of. She even clipped one of my cats nails which is always appreciated! We would hire her again for our next trip.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
