“Can’t even begin to describe the type of care that was provided to my pups! Jessica dropped in on our two fur babies and provided them with top notch care! She sent plenty of hilarious photos, and in depth updates about our babies. She went above and beyond with communication and her response time is awesome! We highly recommend Jessica to care for your dogs and we will absolutely be using her again!”

“She came and assisted while also watching my boyfriends dogs. My other sitter had failed me while I was in Delaware and Anna saved the day. Thank you so much for dropping by to check in my babies 🥰”

About: 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 Hi, I'm Kiley! I am a former communications officer with the Fredericksburg Police Department who turned a lifelong passion into opening my own home bakery, The Giving Treat. My entire pet care focus is dedicated to providing premium, attentive care exactly where your pets are most comfortable: right in their own home. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 *𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞*: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑼𝒑𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔: You will receive frequent, bright, high-quality photo updates during our time together so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing. 𝑨 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝑲𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒔𝒂𝒌𝒆: At the end of my time with your pet, I print out one of our best photos, turn it into a custom magnet, and leave it on your fridge as a permanent keepsake. 𝑨 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌-𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕: Along with a handwritten wrap-up note, I always leave a complimentary fresh-baked treat from my bakery for you to enjoy when you get home! 𝐌𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒅 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 & 𝑺𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆: Leaving a senior or medically fragile pet can be incredibly stressful, but your furry family member is in safe, experienced hands with me. I am highly comfortable administering medications, managing strict veterinary schedules, and navigating specialized care. My personal and professional experience includes managing **feline diabetes**, tracking **strict prescription urinary diets**, and caring for sweet cats with **Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH)**. 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒔 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆: As a dedicated cat parent to four rescues of my own, I speak "fluent feline." I understand how to read cat body language, handle complex weight-management schedules, and give them the exact space, pacing, or affection they need on their own terms. 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝑫𝒐𝒈 𝑾𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈: I have years of experience walking dogs of various sizes and energy levels, keeping them safe, engaged, and thoroughly exercised. 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 & 𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕: My background in local law enforcement communications means I take home security, clear communication, and emergency preparedness incredibly seriously. Your keys, codes, and home are entirely safe in my hands. I can't wait to meet you and your pets! Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a Meet & Greet. I operate a small cottage bakery full-time, which gives me excellent flexibility throughout the week! My primary baking days are Thursdays and Fridays. Outside of those specific baking windows, my schedule is completely open and flexible for midday walks, drop-in visits, and plenty of focused attention for your pets on weekends and early-to-mid-week days. Because I run an active home kitchen, I provide care exclusively in your pet's familiar, comfortable home environment. My background in local law enforcement communications means I prioritize home security, strict adherence to instruction, and safety above all else. Your keys, home access codes, and pet safety are handled with the highest level of professional responsibility. I treat your space with complete respect while ensuring your pets remain safe, happy, and relaxed.

“Shelby is awesome! She is very communicative and our dog loves her! She ensures we have peace of mind when we have to leave our fur babies during a trip! Thanks again! ❤️”

About: I’ve had plenty of dogs my entire life as well as taken care of friends and families dogs. Overnight, check ins or walking. I love walking dogs especially and playing with all animals. I will provide a safe, caring, and loving environment for your pets so you’re worry free while away from them! Currently between jobs and am a full time online college student. So I am pretty flexible!! If something doesn’t work i’ll just make that clear but I do not have many scheduled things in my day to day. I don’t mind doing feeding, walking, play time! Also don’t mind light clean up if they make a mess while you are gone. My dogs are kind of crazy so I understand messes happen! My dogs have an open back yard but if your dog is trained to walk I will be happy to take them out that way. My dogs get plenty of play time mainly with each other but i’ve done plenty of play time with them myself and can incorporate that with you dogs if they require play time! I also have dealt with older and sick dogs so I know how to be gentle and handle that. I have also had my own cat and watched others, I adore cats. Mine was sick for a while so i’m familiar with oral medication for cats and soothing cats’ anxieties as mine suffered heavily from unknown anxiety.
About: Hi there! My name is Sam and I have experience sitting for all types of animals. From cuddly Pyrenees, and scary-smart German pinschers, to spunky chinchillas, their best cat friends, and curious pythons. I have been through partial behavioral training for dogs (and their humans), and have experience with animal hospice situations, as well as behaviorally aggressive dogs. I prefer to keep the animal's care as consistent as possible. The more details you have of your preferred method of walking, reward, or preparation habits, the better. Trust and care are my number one goals when it comes to animal sitting. Not just with the four legged babies, but with the parents as well. I know how important it is to feel comfortable with your care provider, and what a treat it is to know that you can trust someone with the care of your loved ones. Also, aren't dogs just perfect? I work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and am currently on telework, so my weekly availability is early morning, and late afternoon. I also volunteer at the Old Dominion Humaine Society and occasionally foster for them at my house. I have one <1 year old puppy, and I have a home with a large yard but no fence. That means all foster dogs get leash walked always and there are many mind teaser toys for rainy days. I feed in crates and make it a safe space for them to decompress.
“Crystal was wonderful with our dogs! There were some tech issues on my end but she was understanding and patient. It’s nice to have someone to help care for our pets when we are away and trust that they will be fine.”

“Jessica was great. She managed to get my dogs to go out in the rain (which they did not want to do!). Even my cat was comfortable with her right away and he’s usually a little skittish with new people. I will definitely be booking with her in the future.”

About: I’ve had over 8yrs in experience caring for family/friends companions. Dogs bring me so much joy! They can be so funny and attentive. I have experience with puppies-young adults. I am NOT shy to seniors or dogs with extra needs, that’s just extra love to give! I love hikes/runs and I love sitting on the couch all the same. Practicing more structured walks for the safety of your babies and myself. All dogs safe and welcomed! Currently a gym junkie, unemployed, and online masters student with plenty of free time. DoorDash and InstaCart are the only uses of time. Very flexible and accommodating. No other obligations. Always use slow/cautious approaches. Respecting their space(s). Following strict rules and suggestions. Making sure their necessities are replenished and/or cared for. Checking overall health and hygiene, taking any notes necessary for owners, and offering all the support needed for the furry friends.
About: Whether I am doing drop-in visits, dog walking or boarding your fur babes, they truly become part of my family. I have always held a deep affinity and bonding affection for animals, and my primary goal is to provide a seamless, stress-free environment for them while you are away. Efficient, loving care of your pets is what I will provide. & your peace of mind will be ensured. As a Registered Nurse, I bring a high level of clinical observation, assessment, calmness, and safety to my pet care. I also worked part-time in a veterinary practice earlier in my career, giving me a solid foundation in animal handling and wellness. I have much experience with my own pets past & present whom I have provided post-surgical care, administered medications & administered insulin injections. I have also administered subcutaneous IV fluids for several of my elderly cats in renal failure. I have loved all of my pets over the years, which included dogs, cats & guinea pigs! You can trust me with your dogs, cats or small animals. I’m currently retired with plans to work PT in 2027. For now I am “ free” to devote my time to your pets as needed. I have a very gentle & friendly rescued Beagle/ Foxhound who enjoys running & romping with playmates in my large fully fenced yard. I have a friendly, funny, curious 2 y/o tabby cat & a curmudgeon 17 y/o Tortie cat who sticks to herself mostly or lounges on her “Thrones” & observes her domain! If boarding, your pets can have relaxed free rein, including resting on furniture. In caring for your pets in your home, I will be respectful, honor your instructions & give affectionate, detail oriented, safe care.
About: Dogs are my babies. There is nothing I love more than to have them follow me around the house. I am willing to work with small and medium dogs (up to 30 lbs). When you leave your dog with me, you can expect a laid back day with frequent leash walks and lots of cuddling on the couch. I have experience pet sitting for family members, and it is one of my favorite things to do. I am available full time, any day of the week. I am also able to offer overnight care. I will promptly communicate any changes to my availability. My yard does not have a fence, so the dogs can only go out for leash walks. There are no other pets in my home.
“Stephanie has been a reliable and amazing dog sitter for my two pups. She is very responsive when I reach out and so understanding and patient with my anxious and shy dog. 10/10 would recommend ❤️”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Samuels Corner. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
