About: My family has owned numerous of dogs in our large family. From my Uncle's Dobermann trio to my mother small Pomsky (Pomeranian and Husky mix) I've taken care of them all. The dogs in our family are tired of me before I've run out of steam to play or walk. I own five cats at the moment though one of them acts like a caine. My cats are friendly and mind their business when I overnight board my mother's Pomsky or my sister's Old lab mix girl for a few days. Cleaning after animals do not bother me. I daily change 6 cat litter boxes. When I'm left clear instructions the job is done efficiently every time. I work from home full time and I'm awake before the sun come up. I'm ready to get the job done early and my job is flexible about my breaks. I can visit your pets anytime designated as I have my own vehicle. I have a open yard that's not fenced in though only one neighbor with a dog behind a fence. I'm working to fence my yard in the future as I like the idea to give sitted dogs that open space. For now know your dog will become part of my workouts and I love to walk about 3-5 miles daily. At my home your dog will be welcome to chill with us though during the night will board in the spare room in or out of any provided crates.
“We could not be happier with the house sitting and pet sitting Mari provided for almost a week over the Christmas holiday. She was very communicative , caring, and just took the best care of our babies. We could not be more pleased and o forward to having Marie help next chance!”

About: I ran a pet nutritional building for two years, I also was in charge of feline foster care, as well as walking dogs in our neighborhood in Pennsylvania. I have a soft spot for animals of all kinds. Daytime hours are preferred, willing to do nights for comeback clients. I’m located in lancaster so depends on how far the drive. Whatever is most convenient for your needs. I do not normally do in-home pet care, I will sit during the day, but I will not do overnights in house unless special request. I will do walks, and drop in visits make sure your baby gets lots of energy burnt out.
“Terry was great! We were visiting Florida from out of town and needed a sitter for 8+ hours with fairly short notice. Our sweet pup isn't always a fan of strangers - especially when we're leaving him with them. Terry was able to win him over - and even sent me a video of her giving him a belly rub! Not only was she willing to stay with him the entire time, but she brought him two toys - one being a stuffed alligator which has become his favorite since we've returned home! Terry clearly loves animals and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to spoil their pet while they're away - she's Dudley approved!”

“Diane is so wonderful! Leaving my fur kids is always stressful for me, but Diane made me feel so comfortable. My babies loved her and I will be traveling more since I found Diane!”

About: I have parented dogs, cats, puppies and kittens for over 30 years. I love all animals and would care for almost any type. Same day availability. I’m retired and available any time. I work part time remotely as an accountant. I have a fenced yard, a garage, and an extra bedroom. I will spoil your fur babies as if they were my own. I speak all species of cat and dog, but I’m not fluent in bird. 🤭😉
“Angela has been caring for our cocker spaniel for about a month now, and she has just been wonderful to work with. We recently moved to FL, and before that, our dog only had one caretaker for his entire life (he's 12), so we really wanted to take the time with someone new for both drop in visits and overnights/housesitting, and she has really gained his trust - and ours!! He seems very happy in the photos she sends. So happy we found her!”

“Where to begin with how wonderful Leanne was taking care of our puppy and our home?! We are new to town and needed to find someone for an extended trip we had planned. Leanne came twice, once to meet our dog and again to see our new house to acclimate to our dog's routine in his new home. She updated me on how our puppy was doing along with sending pictures. She left the house spotless. Our internet went down and the HOA decided to activate our gate system while we were out of town, but Leanne managed through it all seamlessly. I can't recommend her enough! She is a gem and we are looking forward to the next time we get to have her to our home. Wendy A.”

“Amber took wonderful care of our fur babies and home. She was in constant contact and sent lots of photos. She made sure to play with and love them as we would. 10/10 highly recommend”

About: I have always had a passion for animals all shapes and sizes. Ever since a little girl I could remember telling my mom how I can’t wait to be a “dog-doctor” and I am chasing that dream everyday. I currently am working to get my training certification, while working remotely at home. I have been in the pet industry for almost 10 years and plan on continuing to help my community and pet friends fur-ever. I can’t wait to meet you all! I am here to accommodate your needs whatever they may be. Any pet in home will be taken care with what I like call white glove service. They are essentially the homeowner in my care ! Definitely spoiled, lots of walks , scheduled meals according to pet parents preference. Many walks and lots of comfortability. My house is safe, only my partner and I live here and we take many precautions to ensure the home is safe. I work a very part-time job while I study for my certification so I will have ample time to give your baby, and give the attention they deserve ❤️. Although I do not have a fenced yard, my home is safe and secure and I have a secured field I can let my guest run freely and safely.

“Piper & Bailey were so happy and well taken care of! Rob was very responsive and due to a hurricane, dates had to be changed and he was very flexible! Would definitely recommend them to anyone!”

About: Ever since I was a small child and fell in love with my best friend, a German Shepherd mix named Shilo, I have been a friend to the animals. I am also a cat lover and my family have always had feline companions. I love to walk and play and I will take good care of your babies. I have done a lot of house sitting over the years and will look after your home as though it were my own. Any questions, feel free to ask. Thank you 🙏 I am a writer, copywriter and a grant writer. I was born and raised here in DeLand and have recently returned back to live in my hometown. I am a mature, experienced, educated and responsible woman. I love all creatures, big and small and love to go on long walks and adventures.

About: Why is my price so competitive? I keep my rates lower because inflation has pushed pet‑service costs to levels that no longer make sense for everyday pet owners. Many boarding facilities now charge prices that rival or even exceed the cost of an Airbnb, which I believe is unreasonable. My pricing reflects a commitment to fairness—quality pet lodging shouldn’t break your travel budget. Working remotely allows me to attend to you pets at the highest level with frequent breaks to go outside and stretch, run, and play! I look forward to having a co-worker snoozing next to me. Having a one acre FENCED yard will be your dogs dream. They will always be constantly monitored when they are outside exploring, sniffing and urinating on everything. I live in a low density neighborhood. The traffic is usually 1-2 cars per hour on my street.
About: I never leave a pet family until both the dog and human feel like they understand everything we worked on. I provide videos and take request if there are specific things you would like me to work on with your dog(s). When I take care of pets, even just over night, I provide a balanced and healthy environment. I have mentored under numerous dog behaviorists throughout the past 10 years and can assure that your dog will always be in the most caring, loving hands. I have experience with various breeds of all sizes and age. As I own a dog training business, pet care is what I do every day, all day. My routine consists of feeding, walking, playing with, training and caring for dogs! I have a yard in the back where dogs can relieve themselves. I own a treadmill for hot days when the dogs need to be walked but the concrete is too hot for their paws. I have an endless amount of toys, bones, crates, mind puzzles, etc.
“Such a wonderful experience. Cheryl was friendly and professional. We felt extremely comfortable having her watch the house and taking care of our pets. Thank you again for everything.”

“Darci was amazing! She was extremely flexible and accommodating. She treated our animals and our home with kindness and respect. We felt 100% comfortable on our weekend get away and that peace of mind is priceless. We will certainly be booking her again!!! If your debating on an in home sitter this is the one!!”
About: I have been caring for dogs and cats in some aspect my entire life. I have successfully cared for many different breeds. Animals are my biggest passion and I believe they are family that deserve the same respect and care. My hope is to make pet care my full time job. I would like to be able to dedicate all of my availability to caring for pets. I believe it is important to follow the pets normal routine as directed by the owner. If a fenced area is not accessible the pet will remain leashed while outdoors. While in fenced areas pet will be monitored closely to avoid any potential problems.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 322 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Salt Springs. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Salt Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Salt Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Salt Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
