About: I’ve always had a genuine love for animals and believe every pet deserves patience, affection, and individualized care. I understand that pets are family, and I treat them as such! Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, keeping up with routines, or simply providing companionship, I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m attentive to their individual personalities and needs and will make sure you have peace of mind knowing your fur babies are in caring hands. Basic grooming experience and loved walks! I work a flexible schedule from home! So I can make almost anything work. Not available to stay overnight at another location but willing to be flexible! I prioritize creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every pet. I follow each owner's instructions and routines, keep a close eye on pets, and make sure they always have fresh water, proper care, and plenty of attention. I treat every home and pet with respect and care, just as I would my own!
About: Not only have I been around and lived with dogs and cats my whole life, but I have at least 8 years experience. The first 3 or 4 years were under supervision of a parent. Then, once I was old enough, I started pet sitting on my own! I am an animal lover, and always make sure the fur babies have everything they need! I am a senior at Jax State and I majored in nursing! Unfortunately I am having to take a small break from school but I plan to start back in the fall. I am currently trying to work as much as I can to provide for not only myself but my kitties as well. My two girls, Cammie and Tillie, are my world. I do anything in my power to make sure that they are well taken care of. I care for my pets at home or client’s houses by doing what any pet parent should. Making sure that the animals have enough food and water are a must. Aside from food and water, spending quality play time with them and allowing several potty breaks are just as important! It’s a lot to take care of a pet, but no job is too big!
About: My passion for taking care of animals started at a young age. I have always had dogs and cats, including my Blue Heeler and Husky that I currently have. I enjoy being able to learn new animals, and am very patient while allowing them to learn me as well. With that being said, I would love nothing more than to be able to create a bond with your best friend(s)! I currently work full-time, but will always have time to be with your animals. If I feel like I wouldn't be able to give your furry friends the quality of time and care that they need, I will not allow myself to accept the service ahead of time. I believe in the ability to communicate and be fully transparent with everything that involves our animal families. I have plenty of toys, and bedding areas situated for your animals. If they need more secluded places, we can also accommodate for that as well. I will work my best to meet your needs and expectations for your fur babies.
“Whitney was amazing! She kept us updated and sent lots of pictures of our girls! She made us feel at ease with our leaving our girls! She is no doubt the best sitter we have had!”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life since I've been a boy. I've owned many different breeds from large to small, my current dogs are all rescues from Hawaii giving them a beautiful life here in Alabama giving them loves hugs and kisses every day. My daughter (Fay) is 27 and also helps with the dogs when I'm not home. Im retired so im available morning afternoons and nights plus overnight if needed. Always following schedules or routines food, water meds walks or playtime for sure. Keeping your fur babies are safe and plenty of rubs and love. At my home I always check my gates and fence line for safety. I always go out with them for safety, walks and playtime. Separate or rotate pets at feeding time if needed and treat time. I ask about your house rules and follow the instructions for any special needs for each pet, food mediation walks. I always double check gates locks making sure everything is secure before leaving.
About: I’ve always been around animals and naturally treat pets like family. I’m patient, attentive, and good at reading animal behavior, especially with nervous, energetic, or stubborn pets lol. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, so I try to keep them comfortable, safe, and stress-free while their owners are away. I’m dependable with feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, cleanup, and giving pets attention instead of just “checking in and leaving.” I also know how important communication is, so I make sure owners stay updated with messages and pictures. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I’m used to being active throughout the day and handling responsibilities that require consistency and attention. I can work around feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, medication reminders, and playtime. I understand pets need stability and patience, especially when their owners are away, so I make sure they get attention, exercise, and care instead of just being left alone. I also try to stay flexible for last-minute needs when possible. Cats have their own quiet, separate space where they can feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed without needing to interact with dogs unless they’re comfortable doing so. I understand cats usually do best with calm environments, patience, and giving them space to adjust at their own pace. 🐱

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Saks
Garrison was amazing! Our dog got hurt before we left and he was so caring and patient with her. He played so much with our cat that I think he will find us boring now that we’re home. He kept the house so clean and updated us so much. I will definitely use him in the future and so should YOU!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of November 2026, there are 81 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Saks. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
