“My kitty is 16 years old and usually takes a long time to warm up to someone new. Cheyenne was wonderful with her and made her feel comfortable right away (I was amazed!). Made it very easy for me to relax and enjoy a few days away. I will definitely book with Cheyenne again!”

“Ashley is so attentive and truly a blessing to my fur baby. I was nervous with this being my first Rover experience. He immediately took right to her. She communicates very prompt and effectively. She is efficient and not only walks my baby but spends time playing with him and feeding him. I definitely recommend booking Ashley! She is a great photographer too. Always sending pic and videos on his Rover card!”

“Kaylee was wonderful with my two cats while I was out of town. She communicated with me and sent pictures each time she was at the house with them. I will definitely request her services again.”
About: I’ve taken care of sweet dogs, fearful dogs, young dogs, old dogs, sick dogs, high energy and couch potato dogs. All dogs like me and I like them. We snuggle on the couch, play and take naps. I don’t take large dogs anymore unless they are seniors. I’m retired and I live a quiet life. I love all animals and enjoy their company. Pet sitting is not a chore for me - it’s a joy. I’m home most of the day so your pet won’t be lonely. Your dogs are royalty at my house. Don’t expect discipline. They play, nap, get snacks (according to what you bring) watch TV, go on leash for potty breaks. If they need a schedule for meals or meds- no problem. What they get from me is ATTENTION.
About: I’m a reliable and caring dog sitter and walker who genuinely loves spending time with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Whether your pup needs a fun walk to burn energy or a calm, comforting presence while you’re away, I’m here to help. I was lucky to have my late dog, Molly, for 11 amazing years, so I’m experienced with daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, and overnight care. I always pay close attention to each dog’s needs, whether that means extra exercise, patience with shy dogs, or lots of belly rubs.
“Very happy with our sitter Korey! She is great with our cats. She was patient with our one cat that is not so friendly and she even turned on cat TV for them all to enjoy!! We even got some pics of the one enjoying the cat tv!”

“Ashley did such a great job with Ruger. She came to our home twice while we were away. She dropped in on time, took pics of Ruger for us, and let us know how he was doing. She took him outside to go potty, fed him and gave him water. She played with him for a little while and he warmed up to her right away. HUGE thanks to Ashley for “peace of mind”, being able to leave home all day knowing our sweet Ruger was happy and safe with her. 🥰”

About: Hi there! I absolutely love animals of all kinds and have spent years turning that love into hands-on experience. I’ve been a dog trainer for 5+ years and have over 6 years of pet sitting experience, so your pet will be in knowledgeable, caring hands. I have open availability for boarding and I’m flexible with scheduling for training and drop-in visits. Dogs staying in my home must be comfortable around other dogs and small children. If you’re looking for more structured support, I also offer board-and-train options. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you’re away 🐶✨ My schedule is pretty flexible I’m available for boarding anytime and dog walks. I’m also usually always available for drop in visits. message me and ask about availability I have a big yard with lots of room to run and 2 friendly dogs to keep your furbabies company. We also have a crate if you keep your pup in a crate at night or while gone and they can be easily crated if need be.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have only met a couple that was not interested in being my friend. Total dog dad with 3 seniors in the home, all are super friendly. They enjoy walks on the beach every day and are very comfortable around other dogs and people. Our neighborhood is very pet friendly and there is a park just a block away. I currently work from home and have a very flexible schedule. My pups get plenty of attention each day and enjoy playing with new friends. Your pup will be right at home in our house. It’s very relaxed and calm. We can also do drop in visits to your home, go to the beach, or to one of several parks on the island. I know how it feels to have to leave my furries behind, so with that in mind , I’ll do my best to keep them distracted while their humans are away.
“Melanie and her son Brinson are some of the most professional and kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with taking care of our yellow lab Kiger. We booked Melanie sight unseen as our daughter was getting married in St Simons Island. We got pictures every time they came to walk and feed Kiger and on the day of the wedding they managed him at the wedding perfectly so we never had to worrying once. Thank you for an amazing experience. If you are looking for someone to help take care of your pet(s) on St Simons Island I would not hesitate to use them and I highly recommend their services.”

About: I grew up taking care of dogs and spending time with other animals such as birds, reptiles and rodents. When I was a 10 years old my father and I partnered together to train a service dog for a family friend. I am an expert in animal behavior and training. As I got older I have been a very reliable and trust worthy person my family and friends have depended on for pet care. I can provide affordable, quality pet care for both dogs and cats. I promise my utmost attention and excellent care to each pet I sit. I am working a part time job and actively taking college courses. I am available for house sitting Sat-Tues, however I work Wed-Fri only being available in the evenings for sitting. I understand how important safety is to every pet owner. I do not board pets but I will take every precaution to ensure your home and pet are safe and secure.
About: I have been around all types of animals my whole life. Having marine biologist parents we had some unique pets: dogs of course, turtles, cats, bunnies, etc. I have experience with senior dogs and cats and overall love being around animals! I am currently a student at Georgia State but have plenty of free time. I am available on weekends and on Tuesday and Thursday after 2:30! I treat every home with the upmost respect, keeping things clean and just as you left them! I follow your pets routine as closely as possible and I’m able to crate you pet it needed.
“Staci was super sweet and kind to Lola. She works at the humane society which helped me be so much more relaxed because I knew she would know how to take care of her. Will definitely ask her to pet sit again!”
About: I’ve raised and potty trained both small and large breed puppies, cared for senior dogs (including administering seizure medication), and taught dogs how to walk calmly on a leash. I also love caring for cats. I’ve volunteered at the humane society, which gave me experience with shy, anxious, and high-energy pets. I’m patient, reliable, and committed to keeping your animals safe, comfortable, and well exercised. I also understand that pet owners have busy schedules, and it’s easy to feel guilty when life gets hectic. While I can’t replace the love you give your pet, I’m here to support you. I’ll care for your pet with the same attention, gentleness, and consistency I give my own, so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I'm currently working part time as I conclude my degree in HR and am looking to fill the gaps in my schedule with something I love. (Being around animals and helping others) For walks and drop ins, I focus on safety first. I keep dogs on secure leashes at all times, avoid unsafe areas, and always follow their routine. I monitor pets closely, lock doors when I leave, and double check food, water, and medications. For cats, I ensure they stay safely indoors and keep their space clean and calm.
“Katia was wonderful! She kept our kitty lots of company, took great care of her and made sure she was loved and played with. She was great at keeping me updated and I have complete peace of mind while we were gone :)”

“Kelley was easy to communicate with. She stopped by for a meet-and-greet 2 days before she did a drop-in visit. I appreciated that. She came by, as scheduled, so I did not have to worry about getting home early to let my dogs out. I will use Kelley again.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
