“Jeren was able to watch our new pup on short notice and did a great job. She sent daily pictures and descriptive updates. Our pup looked like she had a blast! Additionally, Jeren had no issues giving ear meds and was patient with our pup's shy nature. When we need a petsitter again, we'll be contacting Jeren first!”

“Elena did an amazing job with our Old English Sheepdog Lady. I could really tell that she loves taking care of animals, and she did a great job. Our dog was pretty nervous as she went to the vet the day before, but Eleana made her feel at home and I thank her for that. I highly recommend her.”

“Brigid took care of my senior girl, Chloe, for 4 nights. She was open to a last minute meet and greet. She accommodated Chloe’s senior needs, sent updates, and gave a nice verbal summary at how Chloe’s time went and included things she will miss about her. Chloe seemed content when I arrived, often going over to Brigid several times while we packed up all of her things into the car. Being a dog sitter myself, I found comfort in that, considering they were strangers just days before. I would recommend Brigid!”

We received lots of photos and updates, and Lenny came home happy and tired (and a little sad about having to leave James’ house). We absolutely would book with James again!”

About: We have been a dog family for the past 11.5 years! We love our dogs so much! We have an 11 year old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix and a 2 year old Aussiedoodle. They are sweet and fun and love other dogs! We have 4 kiddos as well who love caring for the dogs including our 12 and 11 year old girls who love taking the dogs for walks! We are a homeschooling family so we are home most of the time and don't kennel our dogs at all while we are home! We have a huge fenced-in backyard that the dogs love to roam and run around in! Playing fetch in the back yard is a highlight in our home!

About: I’ve had animals all my life. From dogs to cats to exotics. My pathway in school was for animal science which I have my certification from that class. I also have worked at a vet before so I would say I definitely have some experience! Right now I mostly work from home so I’m pretty flexible. Whether that be for boarding or potty breaks I can pretty much make anything work. I have a section of my yard fenced off so they can just go out and potty but also love to take them for walks in my neighborhood! If they get along with other dogs great! If not I can manage to keep everyone separate if boarding is preferred at my house.

About: I grew up with family pets and spent years fostering animals before adopting a pup of my own, Lemonade (aka Lemmy). She is a little under 2 years old and loves making new friends. This is a great opportunity for your dog to come stay and play. For best care, I only take pets from one family at a time in addition to my own. I work from home full time during the weekdays, so your pet will be offered lots of play time, potty breaks, and cuddles. I also spend a lot of time home on the weekends and can provide extra quality care. I have a fully fenced front yard and my puppy Lemonade will be with me to help entertain your pet and keep them company during their stay. **Meet and greet is required before your first booking**

About: Hi, I’m a lifelong animal lover with 15 years of experience caring for pets! 🐾❤️ My journey began as a foster parent with Boise Bully Breed in Boise, Idaho, where I discovered just how rewarding it is to give animals love, patience, and a safe place to land. Since then, caring for animals has remained a huge part of my life. I’m currently a proud dog mom to a bully breed and share my home with four cats, so I understand that pets aren’t just animals — they’re family! I know how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets while you’re away, and I want to give you peace of mind knowing they’re receiving plenty of love, attention, and care. 🐶 My services include: * In-home boarding: I welcome one dog at a time into my home so your pup can receive personalized attention and care. * Drop-in visits: I can stop by your home to check on your pets, provide meals, refresh water, offer playtime, and give them plenty of affection. * In-home pet sitting: I can care for your pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own home while you’re away. I believe every animal deserves to feel safe, loved, and comfortable. Whether your pet needs a little extra patience, a playmate, a cozy place to stay, or simply someone to keep them company, I’ll do my best to make their time away from you as stress-free as possible. Your pets are family, and I’ll treat them like they’re part of mine! 🐾💕 I pet sit and clean homes on the side, my full time “job” is taking care of my family and my pets. I’d love to take care of yours as well! When caring for pets in my home, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where they can feel at home while their families are away. I have a partially fenced-in yard where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time, fresh air, and opportunities to explore. For everyone’s safety, outdoor time is supervised, and I use a leash or other appropriate safety measures when needed. I offer in-home boarding for one dog at a time so each guest receives personalized attention, affection, and care. I can also accommodate crate-trained dogs or maintain a familiar crating routine when requested by their owners. I’m happy to follow your pet’s established schedule for meals, walks, playtime, rest, and any special needs. As a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet owner, I understand how important it is to maintain familiar routines and help pets feel secure in a new environment. When caring for pets in their own homes, I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, exercise, medication instructions when applicable, and plenty of companionship. My goal is to make time away from family as stress-free as possible for every pet while giving their owners peace of mind. Your pets will be treated with patience, kindness, and the same love and consideration I give my own! 🐾

About: I have lived with/ taken care of various animals for as long as i can remember. I have experience with just about every type of animal such as dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, pigs/ livestock, hedgehogs, and rabbits. I've always been an animal lover and I guarantee I'll be your furbaby's new best friend. I am willing to adapt to any environment and provide the best service for your pet specifically. I love all breeds and I work well with them whether we're playing, training, walking, or relaxing. I have been told by many that I am somewhat of an "animal whisperer." I have a calming energy around animals and I know how to let them get to know me on their own terms and in their own way. I have more than enough patience and love for any situation.

About: I’ve lived with dogs and cats my entire life and have over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for pets. Growing up, my mom had five dogs—some of which had puppies—and I helped raise and care for them. I’ve also cared for cats in multi-pet households, including feeding, litter box maintenance, and creating calm, safe environments for shy or senior cats. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me for years to walk, feed, bathe, and care for their pets while they’re away. I now have a black Yorkie of my own, and I treat every animal I care for like part of the family—whether they bark or purr! I currently work part time- and have lots of free time! I will send out a daily schedule of what I’ll be doing with the pets! I will take your dog out on walks on our neighborhood trail outside! I also have a few ring cameras, and will send a lot of pictures/videos throughout the day.

About: My home is a calm, attentive environment where your dog gets genuine one-on-one care — not a revolving door of pets. I come from a lifelong background with animals, hold a full-time professional position, and take on pet sitting purely for the love of it. Your dog will never feel like a side hustle. Currently, I am available on weekends and every other Monday. Friday can be a drop off day for boarding. It has to be after 6pm Friday. My availability looks like this. FRIDAY STARTING @ 6PM SATURADY ALL SUNDAY ALL MONDAY ALL UNTIL 6PM My Home: Currently, I live in Eastport area about equal distance from Quiet Waters Park and Downtown. I have amazing dog park and walking available. I have a fenced in yard all the way around. My Mom's dog only weighs ten pounds and he has escaped through my gate. We have to talk about that depending on the size of your dog. I am working on a fix for my Mom's dog because he loves to find escape roots to chase squirrels! 😎 My furniture and my home are 1000 percent pet friendly. I allow all my dog guests up so you have to let me know if that is an issue. I currently have dog bowls for food and water ready to go for my dog guests and ofcourse wash in between. I also have two dog beds that I wash in between visits. I also have a few dog toys I let everyone play with so just let me know if there are any issues or special requests with that. I have an extra leash available and always keep doggy poopie bags available. I do have dry dog food and treats on hand but it is always best if your dog sticks to their diet and I need you to provide that. Wellness Complete Health Adult Wholesome Grains Natural Chicken & Oatmeal Dry Dog Food, 5-lb bag, And Stella & Chewy's Chicken Hearts Freeze-Dried Raw Dog Treats, 11.5-oz bag is what I keep on hand. Those are my best dog friend"s favorites so I keep them always. I guess what I am saying is, you can literally just drop off and I am all set if needed! Your Home: For drop in I just need all the details from you surrounding that. I am okay boarding cats too but I just need to build up my cat pantry and I think disposalable litter pans are the way to go for a short weekend. Although if your cat has litter specific requirements you just need to let me know. Also, if I am cat sitting at my home, they would not be allowed outside, no run aways on my watch!!! I feel like cats are a drop in situation because they are always more comfortable in their space. But I am open to boarding them too! Owners know their pets best and what will work for them. Just let me know. Always, just ask about any pet situation. I am open to all pets and being a Navy veteran makes me very trainable! 🐾⚓️

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Dog Boarding in Ruthsburg is $49 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $44 and $54 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 391 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Ruthsburg. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

96% of sitters in Ruthsburg can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Ruthsburg home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Ruthsburg.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Ruthsburg sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
