“Tamara has been grooming our Emma Rose for over 10yrs now, and Roscoe’s whole 5 yrs! They just love seeing her come through the door. It makes my fur mommy heart so happy, to not have to worry about them, when we are traveling. Thanks so much Tamara!”

“We had an amazing experience with our Katelyn! She took exceptional care of our pups and kept us updated with frequent messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. When one of our dogs went on a food strike, she didn't panic and she thought outside the box, found a solution that worked, and kept us informed every step of the way. It's clear she genuinely cares about the animals she watches. We came home to two happy pups and a well cared for home. We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely be booking her again!”

“Heidi took care of Lucky and she was amazing sending pics of each visit and keeping great communication to let me know all was good and taken care..I highly recommend Heidi to take care of yr furry babies!!”

“The girls were great, they cleaned up after themselves, including washing and folding their towels. Our dogs are pretty codependent and so they had to cuddle with them most of the time. It appears they followed the directions for feeding and medication’s. We will definitely use them in the future again.”

I am available to board fur babies most weekends and during the week. I have a fenced in back yard. The backyard is huge as well. I have one dog, she is super friendly and energetic. Right now I work full time but am soon changing to part time which will allow me to have more free time to hang out with the fur babies!
About: I’ve been the go-to family/friend pet sitter my entire life, so I am constantly around animals and committing to taking care of them. I also worked at a pet store, where I learned a lot about pet care, food and products. I’m pretty comfortable around all dogs & cats and I’m always willing to learn and adapt to their individual personalities. When you trust me to play, walk, or take care of your dog, I want you to know that they will receive the dedication and love that my own fur balls get (lots of it!). My partner and I have 2 dogs and 3 cats that I love dearly. My boy dog has some neurological issues which makes his care a bit more complicated but it has given me experience for dogs with additional needs! My availability is currently wide open so I am available for drop ins, dog walking, or house sittings whenever needed! I’m also incredibly flexible and can accept last minute bookings as long as I am given some travel time! When in your home, I would love to take your babies for walks or field trips to the dog park, anything you would already do with them to make them comfortable. I make sure pets are fed, have fresh water, get plenty of attention and playtime, and stay comfortable in their routine. I also keep their space clean and watch for any changes in their behavior or needs in order to let their owner know along with following their owners given directions.

I take pride in providing dependable, and thorough care and I prioritize the highest quality of service possible! I provide high quality service that emphasizes the pet’s safety, comfort, emotional well-being, routine, and overall care while the owner is away. What my high-quality pet care service involves • Understanding each pet individually: Every animal has a different personality, routine, comfort level, and set of needs. I take time to learn the pet’s habits, likes and dislikes, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and behaviors rather than providing one-size-fits-all care. • Maintaining their normal routine: Pets generally feel more secure when their familiar routine is maintained. This includes feeding them at their usual times, refreshing their water, cleaning litter boxes or potty areas, providing walks or playtime, and maintaining their normal sleeping and daily schedule. • Providing companionship and attention: my quality care includes genuine interaction. Depending on the pet, that may mean playing, brushing, walking, giving affection, talking to them, or simply sitting with them. For pets that experience separation anxiety, calm companionship can be especially important. • Keeping the pet safe: As your pet’s sitter I prioritize creating a secure environment and preventing situations that could put the animal at risk. This includes checking doors and gates, being mindful of hazards, monitoring interactions with other animals, and following the owner's specific safety instructions. • Observing behavior and health: As your pet sitter I pay attention and inform you about any changes in appetite, drinking, bathroom habits, energy level, mood, mobility, or behavior. Recognizing that something is different can be extremely important to your pets health and well-being. • I ensure all care instructions are completed with qualityand care regarding food, treats, medications, exercise, allergies, behavioral concerns, or special routines. • Keeping your pet's environment clean is top priority! This includes cleaning litter boxes, picking up waste in the yard, washing food and water bowls, cleaning accidents, and keeping the areas where the pet spends time comfortable and sanitary. • Providing enrichment Pets need mental stimulation as well as basic physical care. Toys, interactive play, walks, scent exploration, routine exercises, and age-appropriate activities can help prevent boredom and reduce stress. • Respecting the owner's home I ensure to treat my client's home with respect and professionalism. This means being responsible with keys and access, keeping the home secure, cleaning up after the pet, and leaving the home in good condition. • I prioritize communicating consistently providing you with reassurance that your pets are safe and doing well. A high-quality and meaningful updates about your pets day and, photos or video updates. Communication is open and honest—if something unexpected happens. My high quality services ensure and prioritize that your pet is treated with patience, compassion, responsibility, and genuine care—not simply being checked on!

My goal is to provide the same level of care, attention, and love that I would want for my own dogs. I’ve been caring for dogs for over 8 years and currently have three dogs of my own. Two were adopted from shelters, and one was a stray I rescued while in college. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me with their dogs and cats because they know I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and take their care seriously. I have experience with dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior companions, and I am comfortable administering medications and following detailed care instructions. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Round Top walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Round Top maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Round Top choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
