About: Greetings! My name is Cassie, and I am a self-proclaimed crazy corgi mom. I have had dogs of my own for 14 years (corgis named Camden and Savannah), and cats for over 20 years. I also worked at a veterinary clinic from age 16 to 20 - full disclosure, I was a receptionist, not a vet tech. However, my time there has helped develop my comfort with furry friends of all sizes. I have no fear of any breeds. I have worked with Great Danes, Mastiffs, Rottweilers, Pitt Bulls, GSD, and more. I am a military veteran with a law enforcement background. I know how nerve-wracking inviting a stranger into your home to take care of your loved ones. Trust is earned, and I hold myself to a high standard. My day job has very flexible hours during the summer, so I have plenty of availability during the day to help care for your pets. I have taken care of dogs who needed oral medication and sub-dermal injections. I am also comfortable giving insulin to cats, though not oral medication (unless liquid). I work for ISU, so during the summer, I have a very flexible schedule. As long as I have time to take care of my own dogs (a senior and puppy), I am available to assist folks with their own pets. There are several things I consider when walking dogs: 1) Familiarity of the area for your dog / their anxiety (if any) - If your dog is anxious, I don't want to take them to areas they are not comfortable. This is especially true when they do not know me well yet. I'd rather do several laps near the home than stress them out. 2) Weather - It's hot out there. I will stick to walks on grass whenever possible to ensure their paws are not damaged by hot concrete. On particularly hot days, I would prefer to keep the walk short, followed by play inside. 3) Traffic in the area - Safety first!

“Thankful for Abigail. She made sure my Sky dog had plenty of water and always turns my alarm back on when the walk is complete. She is easy to communicate with over text and I love seeing the pictures of Sky before and after the walks.”

This skill is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of the pets under my care. In additon, I have a high level of patience and understanding when it comes to working with pets. By being patient and attentive, I am able to build a strong rapport with the pets I care for, making them feel comfortable and secure in my presence. Proper leashing depends on the size and weight of your dog. I am mindful of your pets physical needs and limitations. If your dog has medial conditions or is older please consider booking shorter walks. Weather is also an important factor within dog walking. If weather is too severe and I do not think it is safe for your pet … I will ask you to reschedule. Please check the weather before booking. I am mindful of your pets body language, and other cues during our walk. If I am sensing something may be upsetting your pet … I will contact you immediately. No need to provide poop bags … I always bring extra. By following these guidelines and taking the time to ensure your pet is happy and safe … I am creating a positive and enjoyable experience for both you and your pet.

About: I love all animals. I especially love dogs and cats. I have worked with animal rescue groups and I volunteer my time to help shelters and their efforts. I have had dogs and cats all of my life. Mostly large breeds. I am comfortable with any large breed. I am also very patient with dogs that are still learning. When I am walking a dog I am fully focused on them and do not try to rush them. I help reassure them if they feel anxious or unsure of their surroundings. It should be an enjoyable and healthy experience for the dog and for me as well! I would like to have several regulars that know me and are excited to get a routine going. Having a relationship with the dog and owners is important to me so everyone can feel comfortable.

“Cassandra kept my big dog Roux for me, and she went above and beyond. She has previous vet tech experience, too, which is a huge plus. She took my big guy on a walk to go potty before leaving after keeping him company while I had a trip out of town. Roux has a more complex diet than others, so she mixed the food for him according to instructions. Rougaroux and I give her to thumbs and four paws way up!”

“Isabelle is good with taking care of our 2 Great Danes & 4 cats. She makes sure they have food & water, plays with them when they want to, keeps the litter boxes clean, & gives lots of love. We don't live where she can take the dogs on walks, but I'm sure she would if she could. We have no problem trusting her with our stuff while we're gone & know that everything will be taken care of.”
