“Hailey went above and beyond for our cat! We love her as a pet sitter, and I will absolutely book her again! She has a true compassion for animal, and she does an excellent job!”

“Erica did a fantastic job taking care of my furball! She communicated clearly and was very polite, Maggie must’ve liked her as well because she came out to visit each time Erica came by. I will definitely reach out to Erica in the future!”

About: I've been a Dog mom since I was a child, spoiled pets are the BEST. Give me all the attitude. Just looking for a bit of extra income and a chance to up my daily step count. My kids are in school starting at 8am, I dont clock into my part time local job until 230 and I only work until 430. This gives me all day and all evening to be at Fidos Beck and call. Toys, treats, pets, and play are all apart of a happy dogs day. Dogs have feelings and emotions and if you just listen they'll tell you what they need.
“Heather is so kind and also confident around our reactive dog. I am grateful she is taking time to get to know him so we can leave him with the assurance she would be able to take care of him!”

“Rachel took such great care of our dog and 2 cats while we were on vacation! We loved getting updates and photos letting us know that they were safe and happy while we were away. Definitely recommend!!”

About: I took care of dogs for a short time, with old partners. They were brought into my life and I don’t see them much these days but the time I was included in their life it brought joy to me. I don’t own dogs myself but I actively help to take care of two dogs with my partner. They are so funny and crazy, and I absolutely adore them. I am willing to care for small and large dogs size does not deter me all of their basic needs are a breeze for me and any special requirements I am sure I can manage! I work part time as a pharmacy technician, my hours are generally short and spread out across the week so I have plenty of time to be flexible and head to and fro. I don’t generally do a whole lot other than anyone else’s daily errands cooking, cleaning, and such so I’m not required to use any other spare time for anything so I can put your pets first! I will not be offering boarding services, I am available for in-home pet care. I am capable of all basic care , including any special requirements for feeding or medication or anything like that does not deter me. I was the sole caretaker of my own tripod for the months after his amputation. He required daily medications and monitoring, special adjustments around the house for his own daily routine, and so on. So I am not afraid to help with any special care.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was around 6 years old, always having a family dog around to look after or helping other family members with their animals. I’m also acquainted with senior and special needs care for cats, as my last cat dealt with needing daily medications and monitoring. I’m currently looking at making this a part-time career/full time career, not currently employed elsewhere and I’m taking a semester off from school so my availability is pretty open Depending on the care needed for the pet, I’ll follow the owners instructions to a tea, I’ll have no issues crating pets, sticking to a routine for visits, and giving them lots of attention during the visit
“Rachel did an excellent job when watching our dogs while we were out of town! Her communication was incredible, and I loved the pictures and videos. She was never in a hurry and sometimes stayed longer than expected. We will definitely be using Rachel in the future.”

About: I got a dog just recently and I love her as if she's my own daughter. I am a better person because of her, and I am so glad that I rescued her and gave her a home with so much love and attention. I do a lot of work at home stuff on my PC as well as a lot of Doordash, Instacart, etc. when I am not busy at home. I am very flexible and care about giving humans and animals a sense of safety when dealing with me. I tell them and show them what I do as well as have an open conversation about everything upfront. I honestly like getting to know people first before doing business.

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was about 10, I’m 21 now. My major is Pre-Veterinary because I’ve had a love for animals and dream of being a vet since I was 7. I have a cat of my own, Luna, and she’s my world. I treat her like a baby so I would love to share the same love to your fur babies! I work full-time as a manager at Walmart, and I’m a full time college student (online). I’m pretty fair and understanding with scheduling, as long as you reach out in advance. If my schedule doesn’t fit for you, I do not mind adjusting to accommodate you and your fur babies! I also don’t have an issue with last minute planning, just be mindful of scheduling issues or certain questions I asks in regards of the service you’ve requested! When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, and get plenty of exercise and attention throughout the day. I also monitor their behavior to make sure they are happy, healthy, and not feeling stressed while their owner is away. As well as in a clients home, I respect your space and specific instructions on pet care! Ensuring your pets and home’s safety is never an issue.
About: I’ve always had a huge love for dogs and truly believe they deserve all the love, attention, and affection in the world! I had a dog of my own who passed away a couple of years ago, and I still miss having that special companionship in my life. I’m ready to share that love with another pup and treat yours like my own! Whether it’s going on walks, playing, cuddling on the couch, or simply keeping your dog company, I want to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and so loved while you’re away. I know how much our pets mean to us, and I would treat your fur baby with the same care and affection I would want someone to give my own. I can’t wait to meet your pup and give them lots of love! 🐾❤️ I work from home, which gives me some flexibility throughout the day to give your pup extra love and attention! I have a lunch break when I can take dogs out for a walk or potty break, and I’m off work at 5 p.m., so I can head straight out for an evening walk or spend time with your dog at home. I love being active and getting outside, so having a furry friend to join me would make my day even better! My goal is to make sure your pup feels comfortable, cared for, and loved while you’re away. I have a fenced-in backyard where your pup can safely play, explore, and get some fresh air! I also live in a safe, dog-friendly neighborhood with great walking areas, perfect for getting outside and enjoying some exercise. Whether your dog loves running around in the backyard, going on walks, or relaxing at home, I want to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved during their stay!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
