About: I've owned a dog ever since I was 12 years old. Dogs have gotten me through the best and worst parts of my life. I have a background in physical therapy and massage and for years I enjoyed bringing my dog to work every day, she became the nursing home mascot, seeing the joy she brought to both my patients and coworkers made every day at work a great day :). I work in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid as an independent contractor. My work schedule/hours can be very flexible/adjusted accordingly as long as I have advanced notice to plan accordingly. I live on 4.5 acres with a long driveway set back from the road. My property backs up to a wooded trail network. I also have a very large, gated Freedom Fenced in dog play area on my property. Dogs are free to all areas of home without restriction. Unfortunately, my husband and I are allergic to cats so I am unable to board them. I do have a 3 year old daughter, so if boarding, pet must be good around children. I also do not board or provide in home services for dogs that are exposed to smoking or vaping of any kind. Please note; when providing pet care services, I will never leave a dog unsupervised, or under the care of anyone other than myself.

“Even though she had a busy schedule, Julia was able to accommodate my girls schedule for a walk (through some crazy weather too). Def would book Julia again to take care of my two senior girls.”

“Kim was great! She walked Flora several days in a row, and every day, Flora would always be so happy. Kim's super responsive and flexible, which was really great for me and Flora. She always made sure Flora had enough food and water, and took her on different paths around town. She sent me lots of pictures from each walk so I could she how she was doing and notified me when she picked her up and dropped her off. Flora was only 2 months old at the time and was just starting to learn to leash walk, and Kim was really patient with her and Flora got so much more comfortable with leash walking. :) Flora was also anxious at the time whenever someone would leave her alone, and Kim would help calm her down and make sure she was comfy. Flora enjoyed Kim's walks and was a happy doggy. :)”

“Alli was great with our pets. She cared for our dog and cat for a weekend and all went really well. Our dog loved her instantly, and felt really confortable around her from the beggining. She sent frequent updates and lots of pictures. We really felt great about having her taking care of our babies and really recommend her.”

About: I’ve worked with dogs on and off for years but have had dogs all of my life. I have given played with big packs of pups and done solo play times as well. I have a flexible schedule that will let me have more availability for your fluffy friends to get out and play and exercise. About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was 17. I have had lots of experience walking active larger breeds and taking care of puppies, kittens and cats. When I’m not hanging out with animals, I stay active and creative. Over the years I’ve worked as a preschool teacher, full time nanny, swim coach/ instructor and security guard in New York as well as Northern California. I believe that understanding animals vocal and physical actions through sincere intuitive observation, is the most important quality to have when taking care of a pet and their needs. Safety, trust & environment; There are many safe trails throughout the Adirondacks that I’m comfortable walking dogs on and I always bring water to share with a on the go water bowl! When traveling with animals I always put on a gentle playlist I made for my own pets to ensure they don’t get any anxiety from the sounds of being on the road. I have a great amount of experience with bathing/ washing dogs and cats for either sensitive issues or just a routine bath for a muddy pup. I have lots of experience with handling and providing medication to animals, as well as bottle feeding with a gentle approach.

“Karen is the best pet sitter! She will spoil your fur babies! She's great with any kind of pet she's a loving and caring person! She runs her own mini farm with cats, dogs, Guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, rabbits, and fish! Each animal has there own area to run around!”

Jessica M.
“I highly recommend Jessica for work as a dog sitter or dog walker. She’s had a family dog since she was a young child and later adopted a shelter dog of her own. With lots of love and patience she took a wild, reactive dog and brought out a friendly, lovable companion. She accepts and respects every dog as an individual and makes sure they have fun while keeping them and others safe. Jessica has worked in a number of animal clinics and shelters and has a good knowledge of a dog’s physical and emotional needs, as well as first aid if necessary. She would treat every dog as her own, and I would let her care for my dog any time!”
