About: I have loved and cared for animals as long as I can remember. Dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, horses and anything else that needed me including humans. I'm good with special needs. I'm currently retired and have lots of time and love to share. I am available unless on the road, RVing with my pups! I'm ready whenever you are. I have a large house, fenced yard with a pool. I live with my two adorable rescue pups and occasionally a foster. We are always open to making new friends!
About: I have been a dog momma for about 30 years. Presently have 2, 1 Yorkies and a Sheepadoodle, who would love some playmates! I have a fenced in yard, and work from home so am available to their needs all day. Treats provided courtesy of Barkbox, with a large bin of doggy toys to keep them entertained! I would be happy to give your pet the love and attention that you would while you are away. Live in a country type setting, with room to run. My husband is also an animal lover, and either of us would be happy to throw a ball and play some fetch, or whatever else your furry friend enjoys doing. Happy to meet with you and your pet, to see if they would fit. I'm currently working part time, but I work from home so I am always here to let your dog outside or to get a quick bit of attention. I have a fenced in yard and two friendly playmates for your fur baby to run around with. We offer plenty of toys, although they may have a favorite of their own you would like to bring.

About: Hello! I take dog sitting seriously and safety is my number one priority. Your dog will always have someone around to give it lots of attention and affection. I do everything I can to to meet the needs of your dog to assure they are safe, comfortable, and having fun. I live alone and have a pretty big house where the puppers or kitties won’t get bored, I have a fenced back yard where they can go to town! Besides that I am just a very patient individual who loves animals. I work from home so I have a very flexible schedule. I make my own schedule in accordance to what is best for my service. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: HOUSE SITTING: I would just like to clarify the services that I am to provide to you (according to ROVER guidelines) when I’m HOUSE SITTING. A lot of people get a bit confused regarding the actual service we are to provide because rover does not do a very good job defining each service. House sitting is essentially OVER NIGHT sitting, a sitter comes and stays over night to watch over your pup/pups/pet and leaves in the morning. I usually take an over night sitting as an 8hr shift, so if I come at 10PM, I leave at 6-7AM. Unfortunately, house sitting is not a service where the sitter stays at your home over night and comes to check on your pet several times a day, those would be “drop-in visits” and you would need to book those :). I understand it could get expensive, so In cases where the client lives really close to me, I am willing to work with you, just contact me :). I usually take care of pets the same way I do with my family dog. With kindness patience and attentiveness. Snacks as well, unless instructed other wise.

“Melissa was kindly available for a last minute doggy daycare for my two dachshunds. She gave me updates on my dogs while I was at work, which i appreciate greatly. Thank you for the great dog sitting”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rangerville commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
