He passed unexpectedly in 2016, leaving behind my Aunt Krista and their two young girls, Claire was 7 and Hannah was 5. My aunt and uncle loved each other so deeply and enjoyed hosting family and friends regularly. I am extremely grateful that you reminded me of those memories I had forgotten about. Please continue to have people over and share these moments with each other! So again, thank you for proving a loving home for my puppy to stay while also bringing back some wonderful memories for me, even though it was unknowingly. About: I have been a dog mom since I was 15. I currently have 2 dogs of my own, a shihtzu and a Labrador retriever. Dogs are members of our family and get treated as such! I am a stay at home mom. I have a lot of kids, but 3 of them currently stay home during the day. I have a lot of time to go to parks or a simple walk around the pond. It will be just me tending to your pets needs, other people in photos are just part of our dog loving family! I have 2 very friendly dogs in my home and very loving children. There's have a really nice pond to walk around and a lot of toys to play with.

About: I know how energetic dogs are, and I am as well so we’re a perfect match! I can keep them entertained while they are also making my day so much brighter! I am a full time student but classes do not take up much of my day! I love to go on long walks and I can entertain any dog for hours. I can do late afternoons and mornings, as well as nights if need be. I have 2 dogs at home, but here at college I do not have any pets. My apartment does allow pets so it would be no problem to have them over:) I also have the option of a fenced in yard if your little pup prefers to run around freely.

About: I’ve taken care of fur babies of all kinds since before I could walk. I grew up with a dog and cat always in tow. I lived in the country, so learned fast that the world can be hard for an animal, thus beginning my rehab ‘career’. As I got older, I pet sat for neighbors and family friends. In my mid 20s I trained as a vet tech, prepping animals for surgery, giving vaccinations, nail trims, etc. Until the ISU Wildlife Clinic closed, I volunteered there, learning more care for wild native animals. I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life, I can’t imagine life without animals. I currently have a senior border collie named Lola, she has arthritis so sometimes she needs help getting around and I’m always willing to help my girl. I also have a senior cat. Currently I’m a doordash/grub hub driver, so I literally am free 24/7 to care for your pets! I will prioritize Rover over delivery, so I can work with any schedule you need. I’m available for repeat needs (several walks a week, drop ins, etc). I live in a duplex with a yard. For me to board a pet, they would need to get along with my dog, and she can honestly be a bit grumpy meeting new dogs, so I feel going to the client’s home would be best. I will respect your home and follow whatever instructions you have for the care of your pets.

About: I grew up caring for dogs my entire life so far, and cats/exotic animals later on. I had a golden retriever from ages 0-10, two Bichon Shih Tzu mixes from ages 11 into my late teen years, and a mini golden doodle and Bichon poodle mix from my teens until i moved out at 18. I also grew up keeping exotic animals since age 8 with help from my parents, and started caring for them on my own since age 16. I have kept frogs, toads, an anole, and even a praying mantis! My partner and I currently have a Husky/German shepherd mix, 3 cats, a bearded dragon, a red eared turtle, a day gecko, and an american toad. I am well versed in caring for all kinds of reptiles and amphibians of all habitats, including arboreal/tropical, desert, aquatic, etc. When it comes to feedings, any kind of feeders/bugs don’t scare me😅. I currently work part-time, and am a full time student. I am doing online college, and working towards a business management degree. My coursework is online, so my schedule is pretty flexible when it comes to pet care. I am home daily, and my partner has days off on Mondays and Tuesdays. We are both huge animal lovers, and have endless love to give! I live in a 3 bedroom condo, with a partial non-fenced backyard, so I would be walking any dogs on a leash. We have 3 cats, so we have 2 litter boxes in the house for use.

About: I’ve lived on a farm my whole life and have extensive experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens and cows. We have two breeding dogs at our farm and our family has raised and trainee Australian Shepherd puppies. We are well acquainted with the special needs of working with and training dogs and always have someone willing to play with a four legged friend. At the moment we have chickens, cows, cats and dogs on our property. I stay home with my youngest son, do all our animals chores and also work part time from home. I have adequate time to care for an additional dog or two. We live on a farm and do not have a fenced in yard. If your dog has good recall, he or she could happily burn some energy in our yard with our two friendly dogs or alone. I can accommodate your well trained dog in our house loose or also in a crate if desired.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have had my dog for 10 years now. I have trained my dog and have plenty experience. I currently work part time and will have plenty of time to play and spend time with your dog. Between me and my roommates your dog will always have a companion. We do have a small fenced yard but there is a park across the street with a fence that your dog would be allowed to sniff around and have fun.

About: My pets are indoors AND outside because I have safe, pet friendly, separated or joined, sheltered, natural areas where we can all unwind on my seven acres. I'm a retiree who devotes all my time to my grandkids, animals and hobbies. Your pets' needs are provided for at all times whether they are here for a day, week or month as they are included in our family activities. Pets are kept separated or allowed to play together depending on their needs. I provide crates, mats, kennels and even my bed for peaceful sleeping.

About: I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals of all kinds—chickens, ponies, cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, lizards—you name it, I’ve probably cared for it! That experience gave me a natural comfort and confidence with animals from a young age, and it taught me how to read their behavior, understand their needs, and treat them with gentleness and respect. I’ve looked after everything from snuggly lap cats to high-energy dogs who need lots of play and exercise. I enjoy taking active dogs to parks and getting them the movement they need, while also knowing how to slow things down for older pets or animals who need extra care. I’ve also cared for pets who were mildly sick or healing, giving them special attention, gentle handling, and keeping a close eye on their needs. Right now, I’m in a season of life where I’m home full-time and have plenty of availability to care for pets. I love being around animals, and with my flexible schedule, I can give them the time, attention, and consistency they need throughout the day. If this turns into something steady, I’d love to make pet care my full-time focus! For now, my days are wide open, and I’m excited to spend them keeping your pets happy, safe, and loved. When caring for pets in my home, safety and comfort are my top priorities. For in-home boarding, I’m currently only able to host quiet pets due to both my living situation and the peaceful nature of our neighborhood. This includes animals like cats, hamsters, reptiles, and even spiders like tarantulas — all of which tend to be low-noise and easygoing. I share my home with my spouse, who is a light sleeper and highly sensitive to sound, so it’s important that any pets I host are calm and relatively quiet. While I generally don’t board dogs at this time, I may make exceptions for certain small, quiet breeds — such as older Shih Tzus — who are known for their gentle, quiet temperament and cuddly nature. Please note that other small breeds like dachshunds or beagles, which tend to be more vocal, unfortunately wouldn’t be a good fit for our environment. Of course, I understand that every animal has its own personality, so if you believe your pet is especially calm, feel free to reach out and we can discuss! I live near a walking path that’s perfect for regular walks and potty breaks. I’m happy to provide exercise and fresh air as part of their daily routine. I always follow the pet’s normal routine as much as possible, and I’ll communicate closely with you to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for in my home or yours.

About: I’ve been a devoted dog owner since 2009, and my dogs have always been cherished family members. Our home includes two friendly dogs who get along well with others, plus two kids who love being part of the “pack.” We have a secure 6-foot privacy fence for safe playtime, and I can work from home when hosting dogs that need extra attention. Life here is relaxed. Our dogs run and play in the yard, nap on the couch, and soak up attention all day. I work in Ames and can work from home if pups need more company during the workday. My kids love to help with feeding, walks, and snuggles. I am even available during ISU football games to swing by, feed, or let your dog out. In our home, pets are treated like family. Visiting dogs can play safely in our fenced yard, relax on the furniture, and enjoy plenty of supervised attention. I make sure water is always available, follow any feeding or medication instructions, and keep a close eye on interactions with my own dogs to ensure everyone is comfortable. My kids also pitch in with gentle play, walks, and extra snuggles, so your pup will feel right at home.

I have a 1 year old husky… so basically a raptor, and a 4 months old pitbull dachshund mix.
