“Jimena is absolutely lovely! She is so sweet and loving towards the dogs she cares for. She is very organized and responds to any communications I send. She is such a hidden gem for Boone to have. I wish her all the luck in the world with her business!”

“We dropped off our 9.5 year old dog with Jill for about a week while on vacation and she took great care of our boy. It was clear that he had a blast! Thanks again Jill, we’ll definitely be booking with you again.”

“Elizabeth was the perfect sitter for my dog! My puppy is pretty hyper and I was looking for someone that could handle all that energy. Elizabeth responded immediately and kept me updated with photos the whole time. And my pup loved her!”

About: I have been a dog sitter for 6 years! I love dogs because sometimes they’re easier to talk to than humans. I would love to meet your furry friends! PM me for any further questions. I am free 7 days a week to care for you. I am a college student but I only have class 2 days a week from 9-10:15am. I have a huge front yard which is not fenced in but I live 2 minutes from a fenced in park! My house is dog proof!
“Heather took the best care of our dog, Betty while we were on vacation! She sent lots of pictures and communicating very well the whole time, we trust our dog to have the best time with her on future vacations! :)”

“My dog, Kira, was well cared for during her 9‑day stay. I received daily photos and updates, and she came home happy and relaxed. She was clearly treated like one of their own, and communication was great throughout. I felt comfortable knowing she was in good hands. I would book again.”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was a little girl. I am currently a full-time student at Appalachian State University studying Veterinary Technology. I am going to be entering my third year in the fall. I am looking to spend time with fur babies while I am completing school! I am currently a full-time student studying veterinary technology to become a licensed veterinary technician. My schedule is generally very flexible; on occasion I will have some classes where we meet online. I treat all animals as if they are my own. My animals are my children, and I will take care of yours the same way. I will have to say taking care of animals of all kinds is a true passion of mine. Which is why I have chosen this path for my career! I may have started a little later in life but better late than never I always say!
“Could not recommended Laura enough! She did an amazing job with Ebeneezer and even though we were worried about his anxiety…he felt right at home with her! She constantly provided updates and pictures to let us know how he was doing. Plus she responded quickly to any texts we sent! Would definitely use her services again in the future 💜”

“Best dog sitter we've ever had. Our dog seemed to love all the other animals and Tanya gave our dog Bummer extra attention. Bummer may have found a second home. Thank you so much!”

About: Throughout middle and high school I was a local dog sitter to several different families in my neighborhood. Now, I spend my time volunteering at the local animal shelter or pet sitting. I currently am in graduate school at Appalachian State. I am only in class Monday and Tuesdays and the rest of the week I work part time at a school. I’m able to come home in between classes to spend time with pets and let them outside. I care for pets like I would my own! I make sure that they have everything they need for their happiness and wellbeing. Dogs and cats get especially anxious when their owners leave, so I understand the importance of giving them extra love and care!
“Helped me out with my dog for a whole weekend short notice. Sherrie and her husband were really nice and down to earth and they took great care of Baxter and he made some new friends. Will hopefully use them again in the near future.”

About: Picture this: you love your working breed dog... but they can be a boarder's nightmare. Does it make you nervous that they won't get enough stimulation while you're away? You can rest assured dogs with me will get 2-3 miles of trails a day along with 2+ hours (more on weekends!) of supervised play time with an equally energetic husky. Along with structured crate time to decompress. I've dealt with the worst of leash pullers and have trained my own dogs with high expectations of good behavior. You don't have to worry about your pup loosing manners or reverting to bad behaviors while you're away! I can reinforce proper training while he/she enjoys vacation at a beautiful hideaway with miles of private woods, right on the lake for some water play when it's hot! Your pet's schedule: 7-9am: breakfast! 1-2 miles of trails 9-12pm: crate time with options of mental stimulation toys and food toys 12-1pm: potty break and inside or outside supervised play time with my dog 1-5pm: crate time 5pm: dinner time and evening walks 6pm-bedtime: supervised time around the house, options to interact with other pets, myself, household members. Bedtime: crate or bed if they prefer Note: this is based on my regular daily work schedule for weekdays and weekends. Some flexibility on time frames, excersize amounts, etc are possible. Just ask and let's see if can work something out! I have a high focus on making sure every animal gets adequate amounts of physical and mental stimulation. If your dog has needs outside of what I have listed, let's have a conversation! Crating is required while I or my husband is not in the house. Your dog will be crated in a low stimulation environment away from other animals for proper decompression time. And will never be longer than 4 hours during the day.
“We are so happy we found Fran! Fran was wonderful with our pup Lupine. She took her walking, on play dates, and let her snuggle with her. Staying with Fran was like a puppy vacation for our girl. I highly recommend Fran!”

About: “I’ve had dogs as companions since I was a child, and they’ve always been cherished members of my family. I treat every animal in my care like family, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away.” “Pet care is a natural part of my daily life, not just a job, but something I truly love. Living in the Appalachian mountains has taught me the value of a calm, grounded lifestyle, and I bring that same peaceful energy into the care I provide. I treat every pet like family and pay close attention to their unique personality and needs, whether they’re playful, shy, elderly, or needing extra comfort while you’re away. My goal is always to help pets feel safe, loved, and at home in my care.” “I care for every pet with the same attentiveness and love that I give my own children. Safety, trust, and comfort are always my top priorities, and I work hard to create a calm, dependable environment where pets feel secure and cared for.
“McKenzie did great with Mandi and her family. You know your dog is happy when she runs to greet you and then back to Mandi’s porch to sit and get more loving. Mandi is very flexible and I will definitely be using her in the future”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Purlear
Lane is very professional and caring. The first thing he asked when I brought my Hobie (Golden Retriever) to him was "Has he had breakfast and his meds"? He is a great communicator. There is a nice fenced yard to run around in. He had Hobie all brushed and cleaned up when I arrived to pick him up after 4 days. I highly recommend Lane.

Overall, Lane provided great boarding & the girls from what we were able to observed. They were very happy to see us when we picked them up. I appreciate his privacy of not allowing strangers in his home, being he has small children. But, if you are going to accept money to board someone’s fur babies they would like to know where and what kind of conditions they will be left in since they are paying you to provide this service of boarding.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
