I spend a lot of my time researching behavior, breeds, care, and handling, and I’m usually the youngest person in the room at dog-related events. I don’t just walk dogs or stop in to feed them—I pay attention to the way they communicate and respond to their environment. I notice the small things, like when they’re becoming overstimulated, when they need space, or when they’re looking for more engagement. That awareness helps me adjust in real time so pets feel understood instead of simply managed. Working hands-on in a grooming environment has taught me a lot about reading body language, handling nervous or sensitive dogs, and staying calm and patient in stressful moments. I focus on making pets feel comfortable, secure, and mentally fulfilled during our time together—not just physically tired. Whether it’s a structured walk, a drop-in visit, playtime, or a calm check-in, I match each pet’s pace and personality instead of forcing my own routine onto them. I value consistency, trust, and clear communication, and I take the time to build a genuine connection with the pets I care for. Pet care is already part of my everyday routine. As a dog owner, my days naturally include walks, feeding schedules, outdoor time, and making sure my own dog is happy and well cared for. I’ve spent a lot of time around dogs with different personalities and energy levels, which has helped me become comfortable adapting to what each one needs. Some dogs need extra activity, some need patience and reassurance, and some just need consistency. Because caring for dogs is something I genuinely prioritize in my daily life, I’m able to give consistent attention and thoughtful care rather than treating it like just another task Whether your dog is staying in my home or I’m caring for them in yours, I do everything I can to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved, just like they would with you. I stick to their normal routines as much as possible, from mealtimes to cuddle time, and I always make sure they get plenty of exercise and fresh air with daily walks tailored to their energy level. My home is pet-friendly, cozy, and calm, with lots of space to relax or play. I treat every dog like part of the family, giving them the attention, affection, and care they deserve while you're away. EXPERIENCE I'm an experienced pet sitter, and beginner dog trainer. I enjoy learning about dog psychology and different training methods, but if I am totally honest animal behavior is something that first comes natural to me. I would love to help reinforce or curate a training program for your dogs, cater to their emotional needs, or simply oxytocin bathe with them! It would give me the opportunity to dial-in and work towards offering more specialized pet and animal services. ABOUT I have a lifetime of general caregiving and pet care experience, but have only turned to it as a source of income within the last few years when I developed a disability, and had to throw in the towel on the type of work I was doing before. As such I am not able to handle large dogs over 65 pounds if they pull on walks. I am also not able to do tug-o-war, or withstand throwing a ball if as a sole form of exercise and enrichment. The exercise I provide must be diversified and staggered throughout the day. A win in my book, since this is actually better for pets as well! I've been on Rover specifically since Oct 2024, and my main focus has been on house sitting. I am willing to travel further out for extended stays, but prefer to limit walks and drop-ins to my neighborhood. I strive for my extended-stay clients to have peace of mind during a trip away. Please feel free to message me about your expectations, and any questions you may have. AVAILABILITY One of the benefits of gig work for me is the privilege to live with the flow of life. I do a good job of keeping my calendar current, but being that I am in a transitional period of life and live in a state of travel, I prefer not to book too far into the future. And I don't mind last minute requests. Messages about scheduling and availability are always welcomed. SAFETY Animals naturally warm up to me and feel safe and comfortable with me, but of course there always exist exceptions. I prefer not to handle XL breeds, dogs with aggressive proclivities, or severe pulling and behavioral issues on walks. I can do drop-in and overnight sitting for large dogs if walks are not expected, or the dog is well behaved and doesn’t pull. I bring with me a tactical belt that serves as a waist harness to attach leashes, as well as an Ezy Dog leash and coupler, just to have some extra options for comfort and security. This setup works better if your dogs have harnesses. Of course I don't have to use it and can use what you provide. We should review your emergency contact info and preferred emergency plan(s), as well as any security measures in place for, or that I should uphold for your home. Alarm system? Is your home a key-less entry or will there be a key hidden?
