My dogs loved Francesca C! They enjoyed their walks and I had peace of mind knowing I had an experienced animal lover with my boys. If she is available the next time I need a dog walker, I will contact her first.

About: I have worked in animal shelters. I have rescued stray and abused animals and helped located their owners and if I couldn't I kept them until they were ready to find a home. I am currently taking college courses to become an animal cop I want to continue to save the abused and neglected animals. I treat my pets like family. I have helped animals including babysitting in my home and at the residents for 18 years. I have worked at the animal shelter and volunteered there. My passion for animals has never changed. My kids also love animals. They have sat and watched animal cops with me and they say to me mommy we need to help them they need a family. It's sweet seeing my kids feeling the same passion as I do. I am a stay at home mom I do babysit kids during the week. I make sure all dogs get exercise while in my home. I have one 12 year old dog I allow all the animals to free roam unless I start seeing some aggression then I do separate bathroom times and things.

About: Hi everyone! My name is Lindsey. I work full time and have my bachelors in Criminal Justice. I have three wonderful boys, and they love animals just as much, if not more, than I do! We have two loving, awesome dogs and one cat. I have prior pet sitting experience through Rover, and through close friends and family. I also have foster experience. I have love and compassion for animals, and will treat every dog as if they are my own family member. I will give your pet the love and care that it deserves and make sure he or she is well taken care of in my care! I’m currently working full time, but remotely. I can do drop in visits on the weekends, and possibly board during the week/weekend depending on how the animals interact. If a drop in visit during the week is needed, please disclose ahead of time, of the time needed to ensure there will not be a conflict with my full-time job. We do not have a fenced in yard, therefore, they get walked multiple times throughout the day by leash and harness. Because of this, we ensure we find a way to get any energy out by going on a run with them or taking them to a park. We also have a crate to board if needed.

About: I have always lived in a dog household- I find myself happiest when around canine friends. I have walked, dog-sat, and generally been around dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I look forward to learning the specific needs of your canine friends, and how to best support them when you are away. I work from home, and have a lot of flexibility on where I work from. Although I am working during the hours of 10 am - 6 pm, I remain open for discussion on needs of your pet. I can regularly step away to take care of pets, as well as house-sit and work from anywhere. Open to catering to your needs! I have experience working with larger dogs with... more assertive walking styles, as well as will pups that are just along for the ride. I love hiking, playing fetch, and always love to work with dogs in enrichment activities with food/treats.

About: Hi there! I’ve had dogs my whole life and can’t imagine a home without them. I’ve cared for pups of all ages from playful puppies to sweet senior dogs, and I love getting to know each dog’s unique personality. Whether we’re going on long walks, playing fetch in the yard, or just cuddling on the couch, I’m all in. We have horses, chickens, a hermit crab, and a sweet rescued dog named Ladybug! I love spending time with animals and will care for your animal just like my own! I have worked with a professional dog trainer and understand basics of leash walking and basic obedience. I am professional and on-time with appointments, attentive to detail, and highly organized. I have had pets my whole life and worked with animals professionally for about 18 years! I also volunteer with the Wake County SPCA when my schedule allows and passionately advocate for local rescue groups! I work full-time as a scientist who primarily works remotely so my schedule is very flexible during the week and weekends. I also ride horses locally! I only accept 1 client at a time, so your pet will get all the attention they deserve! I am an attentive care-taker for a variety of pets including dogs, cats, livestock (horses, goats, sheep & cows) & birds (parrots & poultry). For pet-sitting on my property your pet will be allowed full access to my home away from my personal pets (I keep my personal animals quarantined in a separate suite within my home when we have visitors) and also have access to our large yard for potty breaks & outside time when weather allows. We also have a large fenced in area for outside playtime when the weather allows!

  • 87% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
