“Michelle did an excellent job taking care of my dogs. She was reliable and caring, and I highly recommend her services. Notably, she went above and beyond when she noticed my older dog had developed a sore that required a vet visit. I truly appreciate Michelle for taking him to the vet and ensuring he received the necessary care. Having her do the drop-in visits was a much better option for my dogs compared to boarding. We will definitely use her services again.”

About: I’ve had my rescued dog for 8 years and a rescued cat for 3 years. I love animals and treat my fur babies like family with all my love and company. I currently work from home, so I have lots of flexibilities to accommodate your fur family. I'm usually home with my pets except a few hours at a time to run errands. I have a medium sized dog and a cat at home. They are friendly to new friends. The backyard is unfenced, my dog enjoys running and sniffing around. Your fur-baby will have potty breaks in the backyard supervised and will have so much play time there.
About: I have had a dog to take care of my whole life! I even worked a vet clinic for a while until I got pregnant and had to stop working to take care of my baby. I have also cared for neighbors dogs in the past in their homes and some had medical needs such as pills every day :) I am a stay at home mom, so I am always home unless of course there are groceries to buy and errends to run. But I have a dog room that would keep your pets and mine safe until I return. All I ask is that if you are picking up or dropping off on Sundays that it be before 11am or after 4pm. 😃 I have a big yard the dogs can play in and a dog room that I can bring them into at night. I am available to play with them at any time and take care of their needs whatever they may be.
“Sierra did a wonderful job looking after my cats! She always arrived right on time for her visits and kept me updated with plenty of great pictures, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. She took excellent care of everything and left my cats happy and content. I highly recommend her services!”
“Jared took excellent care of our dog, fish, and house while we were away! He went above and beyond when the wind took some branches down and made sure our pets had a clean home and yard to enjoy while we were on vacation! Thank you Jared! 🐶🐾”

“Catherine is great helper for our family. A few days before leaving she came by our home so I can give her a quick introduction to the cats and how to feed them. In addition I had to give her extra instructions as to when to let our contractor who needed to work inside the house while I was gone. She updated us with texts as to how the cats were doing. I liked that. I really appreciate Catherine and will definitely hire her again.”

About: I’ve had the pleasure of being a dog hiker for over 150 dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities—some of them during overnight stays or day visits as well. My background in hiking with dogs has taught me how to build quick trust, understand different energy levels, and create a calm, safe environment—whether we’re out on a walk or curled up at home. I treat every dog like they’re my own—whether we’re exploring a trail, walking through the neighborhood, or just hanging out at home. I’m reliable, calm, and genuinely love spending time with animals. You can count on me to show up, stay in tune with your pet’s needs, and communicate clearly with you. Let me know how I can help give your dog some adventure, love, and attention while you’re away! I hike dogs for a living so I can usually create my own schedule so I am totally willing to work with your preferences and needs. I always make sure every dog gets adequate exercise and outside time. I am good at reading body language and reading what their needs and comfort levels are.
“Aurey was awesome with Murphy. She was super reliable, kept me in the loop with updates, and I could tell she really cared. Murphy’s usually a little standoffish but he seemed totally at ease. It’s such a relief to have someone I trust, I’ll definitely be reaching out again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
