About: I have always loved being around animals, but due to my living circumstances and travel activities, owning a pet has become complicated. After retiring in 2022, I stumbled upon pet/house sitting as a means to satisfy my travel urge and my desire to be around animals. In the three years I have been house sitting, I have cared for dozens of family pets in cities all around the US. I have a part time job working a few hours just a couple of mornings a week at a YMCA. However, I have plenty of room in my schedule when I am not traveling. Rover makes it possible for me to satisfy the urge for animal companionship when I am in KC. I do not have the space or circumstances to allow me to care for other people's pets in my home. However, I am willing to travel to your home to care for your pet when you cannot do so yourself. If you need to be gone overnight, I am willing to come and offer your pet the companionship they need to feel comfortable and safe. About: Animals have been a part of my life from the beginning. I grew up with golden retrievers, horses, and cats. My parents bred our golden retrievers which I helped with. About: Animals have always had an extremely special place in my heart. Ever since I was a kid I’ve helped care for my family’s own pets: feeding them, caring for their health, giving baths, taking them outside and on walks, and pretty much anything else having a pet entails. I also am in the process of beginning volunteering with the cats and dogs at Lawrence Humane Society! I am a full-time student, but I am available whenever I am not busy with classes. “At our meet and greet, my first impression of Daniel was, he has a very calm demeanor. Murphy is a very large and energetic dog. Daniel didn't flinch when he came barreling in towards him. He stayed with Pebbles and Murphy for 3 days. He was very early the first day. His communication is OUTSTANDING! I received so many pictures and updates. He even took out the trash! On one day, one of the dogs had vomited before he got here. He sent me pictures and asked what I'd like him to do. The next text I got said that he cleaned it all up, and that there were towels in the trash that he brought with him. He is so prepared, punctual, responsible, and trustworthy. I'm so glad I found him on Rover. I will most definitely book him again if he's willing to come back. I can't say enough good things about Daniel. I was able to relax and truly enjoy my time away with my new grandson and not worry about our fur babies. They were in excellent hands.”
