“Ashlyn was great. She really took great care of my puppy. I will definitely be asking her to come again. Even the neighbors who saw her walking Daizy told me how well she did. I definitely recommend Ashlyn.”

“Stephanie was genuinely attentive and adaptable to my needs. She responded well to my cat’s unique personality, and it was heartwarming to see my usually shy male cat begin to open up to her so quickly—she treated her with real love and kindness. I am truly grateful!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life! I currently stay home and care for my 2 fur babies. I have a 3 year old Lab and a 2 year old mini Goldendoodle. My husband says I’m the reason they are so spoiled! I honestly think I have separation anxiety from them! I will provide a safe, trustworthy and loving environment for your babies at all times! I currently stay home and take college classes online. I have 2 fur babies that get all day attention! I can drop by anytime of day that is convenient for you and your needs! I will gladly send updates and photos as I check in on your babies! I will provide gentle, loving care as if they were my own!
“OG is so so good with our timid dog. She took extra care to set up a meet and greet session, and even a practice session before our trip! She is very patient and kind, even with our nervous girl. She is so communicative and provides lots of pictures and updates.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was little. My neighbors would asked me to watch, feed, play, and walked them for as long as I remember. I can deal with all different types of dogs. If they need a bath, I will give them a bath. I can give medication if needed. Im currently working part time, but I have plenty of time to play and walk them as long you are able to contact me beforehand to see what I can do. I have three friendly dogs if something happens I can care for them at home. I can crate them if needed. I can keep you updated throughout the day if it helps you throughout your day too.

“This is my first time booking with Tayla and I would book her 1000 times again! She took wonderful care of Rubí while I was out of town and she was really calm when I came home rather than being anxious like when I’ve left her with people in the past. Highly recommend, she did a meet and greet with me and Rubí a week beforehand, communicated really well, sent lots of pics, which I loved, and even bought her extra snacks! Definitely recommend! I only booked her for my cat but I would absolutely book her for my dog as well.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 7 years old! We have a German Shepard and mini poodle. I really enjoy dog sitting and getting to know and love your pet! I’m currently working full time, in the city of New Albany. I have a pretty flexible job, so I am able to leave when needed! My home is next door to my job, so I am able to check on dogs who are in my home at anytime. I am available any time on the weekends. I enjoy watching pets. I will be sure the pet does not mess up the home and will ensure that we will play together. If there is a fenced in yard, we will play there and go on walks.

About: I am a pet lover myself. I have had experience with many family/friends’ pets in the past including feeding and walking while they’re absent. My main experience begins with my golden doodle/blue heeler mix. I am equipped with experience dealing with high-energy dogs that hate to be on a leash and are in need of a big area for play time . Second comes my black Labrador retriever. He is a timid, large-for-his-age dog that is afraid of almost of everything. In which case, I carry him to quiet areas for walks. To me, pet care is by far the most rewarding and stress-reliever anyone could have. It provides time to enjoy the environment without feeling pressured. A fluffy partner always makes walks/caring better as well. From my experience, the best way is to always give them an area where they are free to play around! And also taking time to provide them company as well

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
