Alex is fantastic. She was so good with my pup. She asked questions about his temperament and personality, she listened to my instructions about how to greet him because we’re working with another trainer; the whole nine. She brought my pup back and he whined when she was leaving like watched her car and whined. He was so happy to be with her and he came back so tired!! I will absolutely continue to use Alex and would recommend her to any of my friends and family.

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life as long as I can remember. I am so grateful to say I've never gone a full year without a fur baby in my life! Having had many pet dogs and cats over the years, I am very experienced with both puppies and full grown dogs and cats. I am currently a full-time student at Southeastern Louisiana University about to start my Master's in counseling. I am available Monday through Thursday to care for pets before and after school, Fridays, and Saturdays! I treat pets with the same respect and care that I do humans. It is so important to me to help bring joy and safety to the animals I care for. Cleanliness, timeliness, and communication are also important to me and I prioritize them on every visit.

About: I have always had animals in my life. I know each one is different and special. I grew up on a farm so I know having a loving and compassionate person to care for your babies is a necessity when you have animals. I am a stay at home mom so while the kids are at school I have plenty of time to come by and play with your babies. I have a fenced in courtyard area in my home. We also have two dogs that love other dogs. One is a rescue Maltese and is 12 years old. The other is a 2 year old poodle, he is my husband's service dog so usually he is at work with my husband all day.

About: I have experience caring for both puppies and adult dogs of all breeds, including those with special medical needs that require medication. I’m also very comfortable with shy or timid dogs and always take a patient, gentle approach to help them feel safe and at ease. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities, and I pride myself on being reliable and punctual. Although I work full-time, I have flexibility throughout the day to ensure your dog’s needs are met, including extra care or attention when needed. My home is pet-friendly and welcoming, with a securely fenced backyard where dogs can safely play and explore. I also have a friendly dog who enjoys the company of other pups, helping create a calm and social environment where visiting dogs can feel at home. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I make sure my dog gets at least an hour of exercise every day, whether that’s through walks, playtime, or a mix of both. On weekends, I love taking my pup on longer adventures or extended walks to keep things fun and enriching. Caring for pets isn’t something I have to “fit in”—it’s a priority and an enjoyable part of my lifestyle. In my home, pets are treated like family. I provide a safe, pet-friendly environment with a fenced backyard for play and plenty of supervised attention throughout the day. I make sure visiting dogs feel comfortable and cared for, whether that’s through regular walks, playtime, or simply giving them the affection they need. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine consistent and familiar. That includes feeding, exercise, administering medications if needed, and, of course, spending quality time with them so they feel secure while their family is away. My goal in either setting is to give pets the same love and attention I give my own.

About: I personally have had two dogs and one cat in my life. I grew up around dogs and cats. My current dog is almost two years old so I have experience with younger pups. I’m currently working part-time, so i’ll have an ample amount of time to have fun with your doggos. My hours are pretty flexible. I work from four to six hour shifts, four to five days a week. I’m versed in crate training, strict feeding schedules and dietary restrictions as my own dog maintains. I have a car so I don’t mind a small field trip. I also am flexible if emergencies happen.

Sarah and Russell made everything so easy! Quick response, easy to talk to, comfortable, and Herschel took to them quickly! They came over for a meet and greet at our convenience and stayed for a while getting to know our baby and talking about our likes and dislikes for our Herschel. They did drop ins to feed him, let him out, and some play time. They sent photos and updates! We are planning a play date with thier dogs so we can possibley let Herschel stay with them next time. Now my husband and I are actually looking forward to another get away knowing we have reliable doggie sitters!

About: I’ve owned animals all of my life, and currently have 2 dogs of my own, one which I adopted as an older rescue. I spent several years working as a vet assistant, which included walking and taking care of boarded animals. I also have no problem administering medications as needed. I am also a former marine animal caretaker, at the New Orleans aquarium (10 years). I use this app to have my dogs walked if needed, and I’d be happy to do the same for anyone in my area. I work from home 3 days a week, so I could also pet sit in my home for the day! I would love to walk your dogs, take care of your cat, or even dog sit for the day in my home most days of the week (S,M,W,F,S). I’m also available for dog walking and drop-in visits on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. I have a large fenced yard where your baby can run, a kennel inside only if needed, otherwise they will be cool and comfy with me and my fur babies inside. My dogs welcome other dogs, and they would have a great time under my supervision. I would be home the entire time your dog(s) are visiting.

About: Hello! I have taken care of dogs since I was 5 and cats since I was 18! My family was allergic to cats (so was i) but as soon as I moved out I got a cat! I also could not take my parents dog with me so I got my own dog. My first rescue is Hercules, he is my German Shepard Pitbull Mix and Scarface is my street cat! (We have no idea his origin we rescued him from the streets in Hammond). A year or so later we rescued our Black Lab Phil! Phil is a HANDFUL as most black labs are so I’ve seen it all. And then two years later we now have our Corgi Cheddar adopted from Tangi Humane and another street cat El Vira. I throughly enjoy rescuing animals and caring for/loving them. I currently work full-time from home. (9:30am - 5:30pm) However, I am not attached to my house so at anytime I can leave and take care of anything you need for your fur babies! I must advise that I will 95% of the time have my 2 year old daughter, Ella, with me. She is well versed in both big and small dogs and cats and very gentle. In the evenings however, I will leave her with my husband. We live in a home, Hercules & Phil live outdoors as they are our guard dogs. (Don’t fret, on cold nights they sleep in the house) they have a screened in back porch with 4 Large fans, their own couch, a dinosaur sized water bowl, a small kiddie pool to play in, a trampoline that they love to play on and a car port so their lives outside are pretty nice! Cheddar lives indoors with us as she is our alert dog, and Scarface and El Vira hang on the front porch! All of our animals get along with each other. I personally would prefer to come to a clients house as it does take an adjustment period to get all of my animals acquainted with a new animal in my own home.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for a variety of dogs through my previous work assisting a sitter on Rover. During that time, I helped with daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, and making sure each dog felt safe and comfortable in their environment. I worked with different breeds, sizes, and personalities, which taught me how to adjust my care to meet each animal's unique needs. I understand how important consistency, patience, and attention are when it comes to animals. Whether it's an energetic pup that needs extra playtime or a more relaxed dog that just wants companionship, I make sure they receive the care and affection they deserve. I'm also comfortable following specific instructions, including feeding schedules, medication, and any special care requests. My goal is always to create a calm, loving, and trustworthy environment so pets feel secure while their owners are away. I treat every animal as if they were my own and prioritize their happiness, safety, and well-being at all times. As a college student with a very flexible schedule, I'm able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care throughout the day. My availability allows me to accommodate walks, drop-ins, and extended stays without feeling rushed. Because of this flexibility, I can adjust to your pet's routine and make sure they get consistent care, attention, and companionship whenever they need it. 1 understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet and your home, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I always prioritize safety by staying attentive, following instructions carefully, and making sure pets are secure and comfortable in their environment. You can count on me to provide dependable, respectful care while giving your pet the love and attention they deserve.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
