“Mandy was amazing! She was prompt and spent time with my cat so he could warm up to her. He’s never come up to someone so fast but he came right up to her and talked and let her pet him! She follows instructions to the T, sent photos, updates, and is very reliable. We will definitely choose Mandy for our future stays!”
“I'm a first time Rover user so I was new to the process and a little apprehensive, but I had nothing to be concerned about- Autumn was amazing! We had a meet and greet with her before our trip and she immediately made us comfortable about leaving the care of our kitties to her. It's clear she loves animals and our two 9 year old kitties loved her visits while we were out of town. She took great care of them and was extremely communicative with us the entire time. I will definitely request her services again in the future!!”

“Emily did a great job with my 1year old kitten and 28yr old Quaker parrot. Neither one are friendly, and don’t like strangers but it only took 1 day for them to warm up to her. This is the happiest my pets have been when we have come home from a trip. We will definitely be using Emily for all our pet sitting needs in the future. Emily was meticulous, detail oriented, followed instructions to the letter and even brought her own survey for me to fill out with questions about my pets and routine I wouldn’t have even thought to mention. Cannot recommend her services enough❤️ Thanks so much Emily!”

“Jurnee has been amazing for our family. We cannot say enough good things about her. She has taken excellent care of our Persian cat and put us at great ease knowing that she is so dependable. We could not recommend her more. Thank you, Jurnee!”

“Jennifer, took great care of my cat. She was very friendly and informative about her check in! I loved all of the photos she took of my cat and for reassuring me that he was happy! I would highly recommend booking Jennifer to watch you pet!”

“Haylee was absolutely wonderful with Chestnut! She was great to work with, communicated very well, and took excellent care of him while we were away. Chestnut is a senior dog and can be a little more high maintenance, but she took his care very seriously and followed all of the instructions we left perfectly. We could tell he was very comfortable with her and well cared for. We are so happy with our experience and will definitely be using Haley again in the future. Highly recommend!”

About: I grew up owning dogs so I know the basics for them. I more recently have gotten a cat. I have previously fostered 7 kittens at a time so I know I can handle whatever comes my way! I work full time on the weekdays so I have time on the weekends to check up and help out with your pets then! I can’t wait to meet your pets! I have watched and sat many pets for friends and families so it has given me plenty of experience. As a pet owner myself I know how to react incase of emergencies.
“Brianna took excellent care of our 18 year old cat and 27 year old Quaker Parrot while we were away on a 3 week trip. The peace of mind her daily check ins with pictures gave me was priceless. Will definitely use her in the future and highly recommend you do as well.”
“Chyenne went above and beyond. Not only did my spoiled cat love her but I came home and my house was cleaner than I left it. And her rates are VERY competitive. Highly recommend.”

About: I have had pets since I was 8 years old including cats, dogs, rats, mice, fish, and horses. I absolutely love animals and enjoy spending time with them over anything else. I have trained 4 of my own dogs and have assisted in training two others. I have dog and cat-sit for multiple people and have even taken care of a rabbit on multiple occasions. I am always happy to work with animals. I also have experience bathing animals, including those with fleas. I am also familiar with administrating various medications. I am currently in medical school full-time but usually have afternoons/evenings and most weekends free! I’d love to make use of my open time caring for animals. I keep a diligent eye on pets and ensure they are properly fed, have clean water, get their play time/exercise, and ensure that their behavior is normal for them. I also love to send updates on how your pets are doing!
“Sarah has been great! She took care of a total of four cats which belonged to me and my friend. She is very friendly with the cats, sent timely photos and videos (which was a relief), understood the needs of our pets and understands the traditional as well as modern cat appliances which was a plus. Had a truly amazing experience.”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. Growing up with both dogs and horses helped build a strong understanding of animal behavior, responsibility, and daily care. Today, I have two dogs of my own and spend a lot of time outdoors with them, especially hiking and staying active. Pet sitting for friends has also provided opportunities to care for dogs with different personalities and needs. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes, and I enjoy making sure they get the exercise, attention, and care they need to stay happy and healthy. As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule and am available for drop-in visits every day except Saturday. I can accommodate mornings, afternoons, or times that best fit your pet’s routine. About: Hi! My name is Emma. I moved to Fort Smith from Dallas, and have several years experience working in the Veterinary field. I live with my husband, Jason, and share our home with our three cats- Bones, Minx and Tiko- and our two beloved rescue pups, Sadie and Lil Bit! I’ve been surrounded by family pets for as long as I can remember, and caring for animals is my priority and passion! I have enjoyed the wonderful opportunity of working with pets every day, and I am excited to offer quality home visits- with time for play and walks - and of course, treats (if allowed) -with lots of pets and snuggles! Animals are the true joy of the world, wouldn't you agree?! As a fur mama with my own special needs pet, I realize how important it is to have someone you trust to care for your fur baby while you are away. Please let me know if you are interested in allowing me the opportunity to pet sit and care for your pet! I currently have open availability, most days of the week, but I do work a part time job from 9am to 2pm Mon thru Fri, so my availability is flexible around that. I am always willing to work with what you and your pet may need, in order to provide them with the best experience and give the most loving care possible while you are away, but please be aware I will be away for a small portion of the day. I appreciate any insight into your pets typical daily routine, and I will always attempt to follow any specific instructions given closely. I realize how important it is for your pet(s) to recieve consistent care, and I strive to provide your pet(s) with a stress-free transition with minimal disruption while away from their pet parent.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
