“Kyla was wonderful with our 2 cats. Her time was flexible and she was easy to book with over Christmas. During our initial meet and greet, the natural way she interacted with both Magik and Spooky, learning her history with animals, and her authenticity put my nerves at ease. During our time away, Kyla kept us up to date on her visits, how our cats were doing and included pictures. When we returned home, both cats were happy doing great. Kyla will be our go to anytime we are away.”

About: I love all animals. Ive worked in a vet clinic, a PetSmart and an animal shelter. Animals are not seen in pets in my eyes but part of your family. They are very therapeutic and comforting. I'm okay with any breed of dog, mutt or pure bred. I have had multiple breeds of dogs and currently have a hound, cane Corso, and three cats! Working at different locations I have set with any (stubborn) breeds. It brings me joy taking care of animals. They have no voice so we have to be their voice. They give us unconditional love and support so we must return that favor. If you have any questions please feel free to get ahold of me. I'm flexible with hours. Have a good day, and enjoy your companion! I am a stay at home so I have all the time to spend with any babies! Everyone gets a lot of attention, the dogs eat twice a day, cats have food all dat. Water available 24/7 I have a huge yard! We have 9 acres and love animals! I love meeting new animals but I cant bring anymore home! So I shall try and pet sit and walk instead

About: Some see them as animals, I see them as little people... whom deserves to be loved and cared for properly. I am dedicated and trust worthy. SAFETY is my number one priority when it comes to your pet. I am a Welder by trade and its currently too hot outside for my career, so I'll have lots of time for your pet till the fall when it cools down. I have two very friendly children in my home, ages 17 and 7. We have lots of room in our home and a big back yard which includes chickens. The chickens stay inside their chicken run, they don't like dogs or cats anyway. My schedule is pretty open right now, so just let me know when you would like services, and I'll let you know if I'm available. We currently have chickens and one mixed breed dog named "Charlie" who loves all dogs, cats and even the chickens. Your pet would have our undivided attention! We absolutely love dogs and cats.

With a diverse range of breeds and sizes under my care, including various other animals, I'm adept and comfortable in handling them all. My journey in professional animal care began at the tender age of 10. Their trust in my abilities was a testament to my dedication and professionalism. From potty training to obedience and even teaching tricks, I'm well-versed in various aspects of pet training. Senior dogs hold a special place in my heart, and their unique needs are met with gentle care and affection. Cats, too, find a kindred spirit in me. If ever you require a trainer, count on me to rise to the occasion. In essence, when it comes to animal care, there's little I can't do. About: Hi! I’m Gaby, a full-time professional pet sitter and lifelong animal lover. Caring for animals isn’t a side job for me, it’s full time job and passion! One of the biggest benefits of booking with me is that I do this full-time, which means your pets receive far more attention, companionship, and supervision than they would with sitters who work traditional 9–5 jobs or are in and out all day. Your pets won’t be left alone for long stretches of the day, and their comfort, safety, and routine will always be my top priority. I have professional experience working in daycare and boarding environments, including Kennelwood Animal Resort and Y Bark Alone. Through that experience, I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes, breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I’m comfortable administering medications (both oral and injections), handling puppies, seniors, and special-needs pets, and recognizing signs that a pet may be stressed, anxious, or unwell. When I watch your babies, they aren’t just another booking. I take the time to learn their routine, personality, favorite activities, and any special instructions so they can feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they receive the individualized care they deserve. You’ll receive tons of pupdates, photos, and messages so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy, safe, and in caring hands. My goal is to become the sitter you can rely on whenever you need help, a trusted person who treats your pets like family and provides the same love, patience, and attention I’d want for my own! I look forward to meeting you and your furbabies!🐶🐾 Rover is my full time job at the moment so my schedule is very open to give your pet the proper time and attention they deserve. How I care for your fur baby is completely contingent on the owner. I follow all guidelines they have set in place whatever those may be. But you can trust they are always in the best of hands.

About: Hey friends! I graduated with an AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2019 from Muscatine, Iowa. I have been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2020 and I absolutely love it. I have a large passion for animal care and know that they deserve as much love as people do. My family and friends have always had animals as well, so I’ve helped with them here and there. I’ve done quite a few jobs on here and it’s always been a great experience! I am CPR trained for both cats and dogs and know how to give various medications in various ways. I worked at Northgate Small Animal Hospital in Collinsville, IL for over 2 years and recently quit this year due to my CF, but I still keep up to date with my licensure! I can work with dogs, cats, and small exotic animals including hamsters, Guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, etc. Don’t worry, you can trust me with all of your fur babies!!! As previously mentioned, I quit working as a Vet Tech in 2023 do to hardships with my Cystic Fibrosis. I still do Rover jobs, so feel free to ask me if you need me! I had a baby earlier this year in April, so my schedule will depend on him and that of my hubbys! Other than that, just let me know and ask me! I don’t watch animals at my home due to our dog, Chief, being dog aggressive but I’m always happy to come to your home and visit your pets! I’m happy to follow a schedule or do whatever you need while at your home!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
