“I am so grateful we found Kristen! She was reliable, professional, and cared for our dog Bella like her own. She is so sweet and thoughtful. Kristen is a great communicator. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and would absolutely use her services again in the future.”

“My cat, Foster, is very needy and any little thing upsets him so I decided to schedule a house sitter rather than drop-in visits. Malika was great, sending pictures and making sure both Foster and I were okay. :-) I will be sure to reach out to her again when I travel!”

About: I have been a regular pet sitter for friends, family, and coworkers since I was a teenager. I have experience with large or small dogs, elderly dogs, cats, and pets that need medication or other accommodations. I have experience with dog-sitting for up to two weeks at a time. This has sometimes included, but is not limited to, administering medication, cleaning up messes inside and outside, walking, feeding, and bathing. Ensuring the safety, health, and happiness of each pet I take care of is my top priority and it is one of my favorite things to do in the world! I do not have the same schedule weekly, so I will constantly update my availability. I only know my availability up to 3 weeks in advance. Unless I have to work very early the next day, I am available for overnights at least 3 days a week (typically). I am unable to have pets at my house because I live with a family member’s dog that does not do well with other animals. Please give me any and all instructions! I will make sure to follow any routine that I can for your pet to be comfortable. I will provide as many updates/photos as requested.
“Airyana and Michelle were incredible. We were nervous leaving our girls at home while we went on vacation (rather than boarding them), but it worked out perfectly. Airyana bonded with our girls and did a great job giving one of them her medications 2x's a day (not an easy feat). Communication between us was solid - there was total transparency and zero concerns in this area. We felt comfortable with Airyana staying at our house over night and she did a great job keeping the house tidy, watering my outdoor plants, and getting our mail. We would 100% book again! Kudos to mom, Michelle, too, who helped and communicated with me if there were ever any questions or concerns.”

“Brittney took great care of our two dogs!! She stayed at our house and also took great care of the house! She sent pictures and updates throughout. When we got home the dogs were very a lot ease, no sign of being stressed with us gone. Would highly recommend and plan to use her again!”

“Michelle was incredible. Excellent communication, took amazing care of our babies, and left our house pristine. Can't say enough good things. Will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Sammy was great! She came by to meet Leo prior to our vacation and asked all sorts of questions which really showed me she was paying attention to all of the details and that doing a good job was important to her. Sammy sent me a few messages while we were gone with updates about Leo and let me know when she arrived and left. I hope to use her services again this summer!”
“Trinity was so great! Great communication and our pups were able to be cared for in our home, which we are always most comfortable with. Highly recommend and will use again!”

“Sarah did a great job pet/house sitting for us. She sent lots of photos of our pets which we really enjoyed receiving and when we returned home, our house was clean and the pets were very well taken care of. Would definitely recommend Sarah for your pet sitting needs.”

“Jasmine came out to meet my dog & cat prior to pet sitting and was very sweet to my silly dog. She communicated throughout our trip and carried in delivered packages. It was clear to me that my pets were happy with the pictures Jasmine sent. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Jasmyne was amazing! Our dog can be pretty anxious but did great with Jasmyne — and she gave us lots of updates and photos throughout the time we were gone; which helped put us at ease too. The house was in tip-top shape when we returned, and our dog was happy and content. We will definitely be calling on Jasmyne again!”

“Amara did a great job taking care of our pups! This sit was on 4th of July and our dogs get a little anxious when they hear fireworks. Amara kept them close and calmed them down. She checked in before she left to see if we needed her to do anything else, which was much appreciated.”

“Olivia was wonderful with our pups while we were out of town. She was prompt with responding to any questions I had leading up the day of our departure, and was communicative while we were gone. She also sent me pictures of our dogs which was nice to see. She meshed really well with our dogs during a meet and greet so I had no doubt they’d warm up to her. She was also very generous in tidying up things like dishes, folding up any blankets used on the couch, and watered the plants for me. I am looking forward to booking her again!”

“Hannah has been great to watch our dog multiple times when we are out of town. She is reliable with good communication throughout the stay. We will continue to reach out to her!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats, including my own, since i was 12. My neighbors, friends and family trust me to take care of their pets when they’re away on trips or at work. I am currently part-time and looking to fill up my schedule with things I love doing! Two of those being getting to work with different dogs every day and meeting new people! I have a flexible schedule and can’t wait to show the best care to your fur babies! My current dogs live with my parents so in my home, they will get undivided attention and the best care possible! I have a good sized backyard that they can play in, the only request I have is for you to bring your leashes! I can also do in home care at the clients home! I will do the same as I would do in my own home and make sure they have a great relaxing day!
“Cameron cared for my pups and my home just as I would. Great communication, easy scheduling. Meet and greet put me at ease for my first time using Rover. My dogs are anxious when I am away and one of them is elderly (blind and medication needs)…I went on vacation and didn’t worry that my girls would be well cared for. I will absolutely book Cameron again!”
“This is the second time we have had Chris stay with our two dogs while out of town and both times we have had great experiences. The dogs love him and are always happy and healthy when we get home. We got regular updates and I feel he went above and beyond in many ways. I would absolutely use him again! Thanks, Chris! The girls miss you!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pleasant Acres
Natalie was absolutely fantastic with Lola and Callie. We have pretty detailed care routines, especially with Lola’s supplements and Callie’s feeding, and Natalie handled everything incredibly well. We actually had a miscommunication on our end before leaving and didn’t have everything portioned and prepared the way we intended, and she didn’t miss a beat, she figured out Lola’s supplement routine, used the food scale for Callie’s meals, and made sure everything was done correctly. She was also incredibly attentive throughout the stay. She noticed small things like a change in the indicator light on our Litter-Robot and checked in rather than just ignoring it, and she was very conscientious about our home, locking doors and being careful with the garage when coming and going since we have a cat who likes to sneak out. Communication was great, and we came home to happy pets and everything exactly as it should be. We felt completely comfortable having Natalie care for our pets and home and would absolutely trust her to stay with them again. Highly recommend!

Our pups really enjoyed having Erin here in their own environment!! She was very communicative & took great care of dogs. She was even woken up by kisses from one of the dogs which tells me they were super comfortable around her which really made my heart happy! I would recommend Erin & wouldn’t hesitate having her watch the dogs again.

Alissa was great! She was very punctual and communicative! She sent me so many photos of my babies which I love as an anxious mama! She did amazing with our 6 animals which isn’t always easy! She also did great with our dog Jasmine who takes some time warming up to new people! She worked with Jasmine until she was comfy and Jasmine ended up cuddling her later that night! Definitely will book with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pleasant Acres walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pleasant Acres maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pleasant Acres choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pleasant Acres. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
