About: I've owned many pets over the years and taken full care and responsibility for them, I help my mom out at the human society and I help my mom dogsit for her dog sitting business. I would prefer part time on the weekends, as long as im given 12 hours notice and I can do part-time on the weekdays if given a week's headsup. I usually take dogs out every 3 hours and I've cared for dogs and cats with a plethora of different diets, bathroom schedules and medications that they are required to have. I live in a dorm right now so I don't doing care in my home for the time being.

About: Hello! My name is Nyx; I'm experienced with big dogs, small dogs, special needs, seniors, and puppies. I am First Aid/CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross, as well Basic Life Support (all information transfers to pets very similarly). I have been volunteering with various rescue organizations for years (mostly transport and events) and have previous experience working with a service dog organization as well. I'm confident in my ability to safely handle all kinds of dogs, medication administration, light grooming (baths, nails, ears, teeth brushing), and training reinforcement. I'm also known to make my own homemade dog treats and would love to spoil your pup. I have very flexible scheduling and can't wait to provide you with an excellent experience! About: I've taken care of all types of pets from a very young age. Whether it be a tiny chihuahua to a sizeable Bullmastiff, a cat, birds including chickens, reptiles, fish, even small furry friends like rabbits or ferrets. I have adored and been fascinated by animals my whole life and am up for any challenge you throw at me. I've personally trained my dog to follow voiceless hand signal commands and he is also special needs, so caring for a senior or special needs animal is a breeze for me! I've even provided end of life care for my grandmother's cat, which included administering fluids via injection, so don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Not to mention that I have experience raising young kittens and squirrels at milk drinking ages! I am available from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday and overnights on Fridays and Saturdays. I could possibly do extended overnight stays in my own home if your pet is dog, cat, and young child friendly. Whether it be for a walk, potty break, comfort while you're away, socializing and training your puppy basic commands (and maybe a few tricks), or even just taking your furry friend out for a pup cup and to a sniff spot, I'm the gal for you. I will even provide litter or doggy doo doo cleanup for an additional price. Your pet will always be safe and loved in my hands. I am currently in between jobs, and my kiddos go to daycare from 7am-5pm M-F, so I am available to help between those times, or overnights at your house on Fridays and Saturdays. I could be purr-suaded to do extended overnight stays at my house if your feline is cat, dog, and young child friendly. If I am caring in my home, I have 3 cats-all fixed- a special needs male dog who is NOT fixed due to medical reasons, and two kids under the age of 5. If you choose to keep your pet at my home, they need to be able to get along with them or be kept in a separate room. If you have a female dog, they would need to be fixed with proof of spay. My special needs dog has no business procreating! I have a large home and a decent sized yard with a tie-out cable so that your pet can explore my whole backyard safely without fear of taking off. I also have a screened in porch that I often let the cats roam in during the nicer months. I have a Honda CR-V, so I can keep decently large dogs in the car as well for transport or in case of emergency. If I am caring for your pet in your home, I will cuddle, play, exercise, and feed & water them to their hearts content. I will ask however for an extra fee to pick up any dog poo or clean litter boxes.

Gabrielle made the process so easy - and made sure to keep me updated and took good care her! She kept up with her meds, and paid close attention to other dogs while out on walks. Will be booking again!”

About: I have several years of dog and house-sitting experience through word-of-mouth referrals, caring for pets during trips ranging from a few days to a week and a half. I strive to find what works for each pet as an individual. I have experience caring for elderly dogs, administering oral medication, and working with multiple pets. I’ve cared for a range of dogs—from picky eaters and nervous, anxious dogs that preferred a consistent schedule and energetic dogs with mischievous streaks. Working with such different dogs has helped me become flexible and responsive to a wide range of temperaments and care requirements. Past clients have repeatedly trusted me with their pets and homes, and many have returned for additional bookings. Through these experiences, I have followed detailed care instructions, monitored pets for changes in behavior, provided excercise and affection, maintained a safe environment, and communicated reliably with owners. This means that when a situation is worrisome, I will err on the side of caution as well as informing you. My goal is always to make pets feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while you’re away and for you to feel secure your pets are safe and in responsible, good hands. As a college student who comes back home for the breaks, my schedule is relatively wide open. However, I also appreciate still having some time here and there even while on sits to spend with family, should it be possible. When caring for pets in a client's home, I always prioritize following any provided instructions and established routines. In this respect, I especially appreciate detailed care notes, as they help me provide the most consistent and personalized care possible. Every pet is different, and I believe clients know their pets best. At the same time, I use good judgment and common-sense safety practices to ensure pets remain safe, healthy, and comfortable while their parents are away. I am patient, attentive, and observant, and I make it a priority to learn each pet's personality, preferences, and needs. Whatever that means, I aim to adapt my care to what will help each pet feel most at ease. I also value staying in contact with pet parents throughout their time away, as much as their availability and preferences allow. Regular updates help provide peace of mind to everyone, and if any questions or unexpected situations arise, I can communicate promptly so clients stay informed and involved in decisions regarding their pet's care. My goal is to create a safe and familiar environment where pets can thrive and clients can feel confident that their pets and homes are being well cared for.

About: I’ve had and helped care for pets my entire life! From dogs and cats to guinea pigs and horses, I’ve always loved being around and caring for animals of all kinds. I’m familiar with the needs of cats and dogs of all ages and am dedicated to providing reliable, loving care so you can have peace of mind while you’re away! I just graduated from high school this past school year and will be commuting to school starting in September. I only have a few classes each weekday, so I should still be available to care for your pets around my schedule! I am also very flexible and should be able to meet the needs of almost any pet parent! In my experience, every home is run differently, and every pet sitting job is unique, so I always follow the pet parent’s schedule and instructions. I pay great attention to detail and am responsible with timelines for tasks.

About: I have been an animal lover my entire life! I treat my cats like they are my children and I would do anything for them! I would take care of your fur babies as if they were my own! I also love dogs, I've had many dogs in my family growing up. I don't have the living space needed for a dog while living in an apartment. I would definitely have one if I were able! That's a big reason why you should let me pet sit for you! My availability is pretty open right now. I want to do a little something on the side besides other projects that I'm working on. They say that if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life! Pets definitely make me the happiest!! I like to keep the living space clean and sanitized, I clean litter boxes every day. I pick up poop while on dog walks. Also, while dog walking, if there's another dog near and the you're dog seems uncomfortable or threatened, I would move to the other side of the street or walk the other way to remove ourselves from the situation. Most animals, if not all, trust and love me back!

About: Hello, my name is Allie and it's safe to say that I love dogs. I work at a dog daycare so I have experience with a lot of different breeds and temperaments. My speciality is working with the shy terrified dogs. When it comes to walking dogs I do have experience with gentle leaders and double leashing. I have a Vizsla puppy and a Chihuahua. The two of them have taught me how to be extremely active and mellow at the same time. My schedule is fairly flexible throughout the week and weekends. Before working with dogs I worked at a group home. That experience gave me the ability to pay attention to the littlest details and to have fast reflexes. I also have experience passing medication (convincing dogs that it's not awful). I would love to be your fury friends friend.

About: I have taken care of dogs and horses and absolutely enjoy making sure they feel safe and loved. Pets bring so much joy and comfort. I hope to do the same for the pets I am watching. I'm currently working part-time, so I am available for more time. My son is off to the Marines, so I can stay at the client's house. This love for pet sitting began when my friends asked me to take care of their animals while they were on. vacation I prefer the pets at the client's house, where they feel more comfortable. Building trust with pets is key; they feel safe and secure while parents are gone. I will communicate with you as well as you see fit when you are gone to ensure you are happy and safe.

She sent photos of him knowing i would muss him, and expressed concerns of him not eating, which is typical for him so i just asked her to give him some of his lick em treats, which she did. He seems very comfortable with her. Will ask her to watch him in the future.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
