“Katy was heaven sent, or found. Even the best dog lover has had a difficult time winning over our golden doodle. This was not the case with Katy, she was loved at their first meeting. Our other fur baby loved her equally. We are to be counted among Katy's number one fans. We appreciated the pictures and videos while we were away. We will be welcoming you back again. Thanks Katy!”

“Suzanne was a loving, caring and joyful person who took great care of our dog while housesitting. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone in need, and we will certainly be a repeat customer of hers. Thank you, Suzanne!”

“Erika was great. Lainey took right to her! Erika went over any beyond what was expected. I appreciated her taking Lainey to the park to explore new things. The house was just like we left it and she even did the towels. I appreciated her taking such good care and playing with Lainey while we were away. Will definitely be using her again. Fabulous dog/house sitter.”

“This was our first time using Rover for watching our 5 Yr boxer for a long weekend getaway. As most pet owners would agree that leaving your pet with someone can be stressful. Well, it could not of gone better for us. Belle was watched over and all instructions were followed and she was a happy dog on our return. We will use Taylor and Trenton again when we need to leave her behind.”
“Summer watched Katie for me on short notice and did a wonderful job! Went above and beyond to make sure my girl was cared for. I’ll reach out to her next time I need a sitter!”

“Emory has watched our pup three times now and has done a wonderful job each time. She is punctual, great a communication, and follows all of our instructions. We will definitely be using her again!”

“I was kind of in between a rock and a hard place.. I had to go out of town in a week, and didn’t want to leave my dog in a kennel again.. he has special needs and kennels have too many dogs to pay special attention to him so I tried Rover... My request for assistance was accepted right away. I was always able to reach the sitters and they sent me updates and statuses ... definitely recommend Cheyannes assistance if you need a sitter”

“Nick is always so great with the animals and a huge help! He's very friendly, goes above and beyond, and the animals enjoy spending time with him. If you're looking for a trustworthy and flexible petsitter - Nick is your guy!”

About: I've been caring for animals for over 10 years and have always had a passion for pets. I have experience house-sitting, feeding, walking, cleaning up after, and caring for dogs and cats for neighbors, family, and friends. Growing up with pets has taught me that every animal is unique, and I treat each one with the same love, patience, and attention I'd give my own. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I'm a graduate student completing my degree online while working about 30 hours a week in my internship. Outside of work and school, I spend most of my time with my family, my boyfriend, and at church on Wednesdays and Sundays. My schedule is generally flexible, and I do my best to accommodate pet owners' needs whenever possible. I often spend time accompanying the dogs with snuggles and a couple of hours of playtime a day. I provide food and water for the animals as instructed by the owner as each owner has a different approach. I often take dogs on one or two walks a day because exercise is extremely beneficial for pets.
“Jessica was great! She made sure everything went smoothly and my dog seemed to have a good time while I was away. Thankful for her quick response at the last minute to come stay at the house with my puppy.”

“Daryne stayed in my home with my dog, June, for five days while I was away working. She could not have been more pleasant and professional in her communications with me. She sent daily updates and photos, managed everything well, and left my home clean and tidy. I highly recommend her!”

“Laurel was great taking care of our babies Ranger and Maddie and even went beyond when our flight was delayed. I would highly recommend Laurel if you want your babies to be loved while you are away. I would definitely hire again when needed.”

About: I’ve had the pleasure of pet sitting for others for many years. From puppies who are still training to seniors who need lots of extra care. I grew up around dogs and cats in my youth from our beloved Shetland sheepdog who we enjoyed 12 years with to taking in strays and fostering dogs and cats for periods of time. In my adulthood, I’ve raised my mixed breed, Louie, since he was 4 weeks old, and he just turned 7. I look forward to caring for your animals in whatever way is helpful! I currently work part time so I have plenty of time during the week to care for (or just hang out with) your furry friends! In addition, I have most weekends available for pet care from pet sitting at your residence to walks, feeding, etc. For me, pets are family, and that means my top priority is maintaining their safety. From our initial interaction, I want you to feel confident that I will do everything in my power to keep your animals protected and loved. I hope to be an extension of the care and love provided by their owners!
“Emily and Taylor were fantastic!! We searched for some time to find the perfect match to come and house sit/dog sit for our German Shepherds and now we have found it with them!!! We have one that is a senior and one that can be anxious- so it has to be a good fit all the way around- they came out and solid two visits prior to the actual weekend house sit. They showed up on time for the visit; communicated throughout the weekend; sent us pictures; and asked questions for clarification before the visit and during if needed. Their personalities are great for our dogs who warmed up to them ASAP; they took fantastic care of them as well as of our house. We will continue to use them in the future and highly recommend them to others.”

“We had the pleasure of having Heather take care of our sweet golden at the last minute on a holiday weekend while attending a family funeral. I was a nervous wreck to leave my girl with someone strange but Heather took the leash and handled everything professionally. Her communication (pics included) put me at ease. She was great - went above and beyond - and if I lived in that beautiful area I would hire her often and feel right at ease.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Peters Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Peters Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Peters Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Peters Creek. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
