“Michelle was prompt, kept in touch every day while we were away, and took great care of Cotton and Maizey, including making sure Cotton got all her meds every day. She was flexible when our plans had to change at the start of our trip. This was our first time using a dog sitter who stayed at our house, and Michelle made us feel really comfortable. We’ve just arrived home to two happy and healthy pups. Thanks Michelle!”

“Samantha took care of 3 of our dogs in our home while we were out of town and she was great with all of them!!! They were well cared for and happy when we got back. She also left the house as clean as when she arrived. She is reliable and attentive. Our Pug wears pampers and sometimes they fall off but she cleaned up after him as if he was her own. We highly recommend Samantha !”
“Terri was the best sitter I’ve ever had. I have had dog/house sitters for 15 years and this is the first time I felt totally comfortable. Terri messaged me at feeding times, when my Weimaraners received their meds, and texts about how they were doing. I received pictures of my Girls and I could see they were happy! Terri is a true professional in all aspects. I would never use anyone else, felt so secure with her. I have found my forever animal sitter. I promise Terri will go above and beyond. I’m so happy I found Terri?”

“Kya did an amazing job caring for our animals. She kept us updated every day and sent pictures, which we really loved. It was clear they were in great hands. We would definitely book with her again!”
“Declan was fantastic with our two labs! He is super accommodating to specific schedules and care requests and was really responsive. We loved our daily pictures! Definitely would recommend him and work with him again.”

About: I grew up with lots of animals and have been helped people with there animals and know how to take care and stay on schedule I mostly work afternoons which are typically 8 hour shifts. I can wake up early, and also stop by late at night. I usually am not busy in the morning or on weekends. I currently have a fenced in yard with a pool, so I know how to guide your dog around areas that maybe aren’t the best for them!
“We couldn’t have asked for better care of our animals and house while we were away. Sarah did a great job keeping us updated on our pets and really did an outstanding job.”

“Ava was fantastic, she went above and beyond to make sure not only our dogs but our home as well was safe and maintained, our dogs took to her perfectly and were very comfortable with her. She is definitely someone I would recommend and someone I will use again in the future.”

“We were extremely pleased with the diligent care Monica provided for our 4-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd. She did an excellent job not only watching Jaco, but also taking great care of our home while we were away. It gave us real peace of mind knowing everything was in such good hands. We would absolutely use Monica again and highly recommend her to others.”

“This is the first time I’ve had someone stay in my home while I travel. When I let Kelly, she was friendly and professional and obviously loves dogs. She asked great questions and I was very comfortable going on my trip and feeling that home and dog were in good hands. She sent pictures every day. I came home to a happy dog and a clean, well cared for home. Kelly was amazing!”
“We booked Jason for house sitting with our dog who has separation anxiety and does not do well in a boarding environment. Jason is great with our dog! Jason came into our house and our dog immediately migrated to him. Jason provided ample walks and gave our dog personalized attention. His wife Emily is also a dog sitter on this site and she has watched our dog too! She is also amazing! We will only be using their services for our dog! We love the husband and wife team!”

“I booked with Aixa last minute and she showed up for us. She came for a meet and greet with our fur babies and took care of them and our home overnight. She is very sweet and loved on the babies like her own. I will definitely be a repeat client.”

“Heidi was truly amazing… She really took great care of my little guy while he was in recovery after an unexpected surgery. She kept me in the loop on everything that was happening and really helped keep my mind at ease when I was unable to be there. Very grateful to have found her, and will definitely use again in the future.”

“Madelyn was great when she watched our dog Cooper when we were on our week long road trip. She was very communicative and we could tell she took great care of Cooper. We definitely will book her again.”

“Overall things went well. Dogs were not stressed when we arrived home after she dogsat our three dogs for two nights. She also swept the floors before leaving (which is something we said she didnt need to do as we know the Huskys cause explosions). My only thing would be communication, the inital communication was great, I wish she had communicated a bit more for our meet and greet as she was late, which is fine as she was at work but I had to be the one to reach out to find out what was going on. I also wish there was inital communication upon arrival and final communication when leaving. Even an overall on how the dogs were/how things went when she left for the final time. The dogs seemed happy though when we returned and that is my biggest concern, and im sure is the same for others.”

“Abigail is wonderful. She takes great care of our pups (even when they’re a bit naughty). And, when we’re away, she takes care of our home like it’s her own. So grateful for her help!”

“Devin was amazing! I loved receiving so many pictures of the pup, and the dog seemed to have had a blast. We really appreciate all the love and care Devin showed for our Sadie and how respectful she was of our home while we were away. Highly recommend.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,724 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Paris. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Paris walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Paris maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Paris choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Paris. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
