“Amazingly kind people with a great setup for taking care of dogs. I was very impressed with everything and loved the photos I received while I was traveling. Highly recommend.”

“Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! So much so that I was worried my pup wouldn't want to come home. She is a pure and true dog lover. Will absolutely use her again. She sent the sweetest pictures and notes regarding my almost blind little guy. Loved our time with Lynn.”

“Our pup was very happy in Delila’s care and playing her fellow doodle! Delila was very responsive and updated us with a photo each day. Planning to book again in the near future!”

“Danielle was the best to work with! Our family unfortunately had an emergency and she was a huge help coordinating the details to ensure our pup was cared for. She was also very easy to communicate with and I loved receiving updates/pictures of my dog while she cared for her. 10/10 recommend her caring for your animal(s)!”

“Megan has been an amazing dog sitter for my dog. I have booked with her three times already, and trusted her with my beloved dog for stays exceeding a week. She is responsible, loving, and a great communicator. I highly recommend her!”

“We feel good that our old dog enjoyed his own mini-vacation. Kena's creativity and dedication to care helped him through some initial anxiety and enthusiastically kept us up to date as he soon settled in.”

“If I could give 10 stars for Mitchell I would. She is the best!! My dog had great care and a really good time. Mitchell was sending me pictures and videos every day. Communication was prompt. My Corgi just loved her kids and got along with her dogs. I will be having her pet sit again and again!!!”

“Julie totally saved us Memorial weekend! Our dog Mabel appeared to have had a great time and didn't seem to show any symptoms of separation anxiety, that she usually displays after time away from us. The property was large and well-kept, and looked like a puppy paradise!”

“Tristi did an amazing job! She was communicative, attentive, and made sure all the pups were safe, comfortable, and happy. It's clear she genuinely cares about dogs, and that gave me so much peace of mind. Her family was wonderful too! I highly recommend her and would absolutely book with her again.”

“Thank you to Tara. Our dog Murphy was well taken care of during his time at Tara’s house. He was treated like a member of her family. We would definitely use Tara’s services again if we need to leave Murphy behind when we go away on a trip.”

About: Hi! We’re Brittany and Chris, and we’ve been dog people our entire lives. We know that leaving your pup with someone else can be a big leap of trust — they’re family, after all! Our goal is to give you peace of mind while making sure your dog feels right at home with us. We’ve both grown up with dogs and most recently had the joy of caring for our beloved Border Collie, Charley, through his senior years. We understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and quirks, and we’re happy to follow whatever helps your pup feel comfortable and cared for. Our home is clean, cozy, and very dog-friendly. We’re big fans of couch cuddles, playtime, and having a pup happily hanging out alongside us. If your dog thinks the best place in the house is curled up on the couch or snuggled in bed with their people, they’ll fit right in here! We have a securely fenced backyard for safe outdoor play, but your pup will never be left outside unsupervised. We’re also within walking distance of beautiful Bidwell Park, so there are plenty of opportunities for walks, exploring, and fresh air. I work from home, which means your dog will have lots of company throughout the day and won’t be left alone for long stretches. We’ll give your pup plenty of love, attention, playtime, and, of course, as many cuddles as they’re willing to accept. We’d love to get to know you and your four-legged family member and make their stay with us feel like a home away from home! Brittany works from home and has a very flexible schedule so can spend all day with your dog. We are happy to modify our daily routines to accommodate your dogs's normal walking and feeding schedule so they feel right at home. We can also accommodate last minute bookings. Your pup’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We have a securely fenced yard where your dog can enjoy outdoor time, but we will always supervise them while they’re outside. Inside, they’re welcome to make themselves completely at home — including cuddling up on the couch or sleeping on the bed with us. We only host one family’s dogs at a time, so your pup gets our full attention without having to share our home with unfamiliar dogs. We also do not have children, creating a calm and comfortable environment where your dog can settle in and feel at ease. We’ll follow your pup’s routines, preferences, and house rules as closely as possible so they feel safe, happy, and well cared for throughout their stay.
“I highly recommend Leslie. While I was out of town, she sent me pictures of Kobi. She reassured me that he was being taken care of. She sent a video of Kobi playing with the family. I will certainly use her again.”
“Cynthia took great care of my little girl! She’s very polite, professional and caring. I will trust her to care for my fur babies whenever needed in the future. She sent me updates and pictures every day.”

I work full time Monday through Friday. I am available some morning between 5:00am-6:30am, evenings 5:00-7:00pm and weekends are flexible between 5:00am -7:00pm. Animals are like my family. About: I’ve been house-sitting and pet-sitting since high school, and I absolutely love it! Throught my teens I regularly cared for pets and homes for four different families during the summers. I grew up in a big family surrounded by animals- horses, pigs, dogs, and chickens, so caring for pets has always been second nature to me. Now, I have a cat of my own and live with a friendly Husky-Malamute mix. They love people, other animals, and even babies! Whether it’s dogs, cats, or other furry (or feathered) friends, I’m here to provide loving, responsible care while you’re away. I’d love to meet your pets and make sure they feel safe, happy, and entertained! Since I already have a cat and live with a Husky-Malamute, pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I start my day making sure they’re fed, have fresh water, and get some morning attention—whether that’s playtime or a walk Throughout the day, I keep an eye on them, making sure they’re happy and engaged. For dogs, I make sure they get enough exercise and outdoor time, and for cats, I provide play and enrichment to keep them stimulated. If I’m pet-sitting, I adjust my schedule to match the pet’s needs, whether that’s feeding times, walks, or companionship. I love spending time with animals, so it never feels like a chore—just part of my day! I personally always love to hang out with all of them or their common area to keep an eye out, just in case. Even if they can freely wander outside, I will also go outside to hang out and play with them.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Palermo home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Palermo.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Palermo sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
