“Mel came highly recommended by a friend and I’m so glad she was available to watch our pup for us on the weekend we needed. We knew Hank would be in good hands and loved. She sent videos and stayed in contact with us daily, and you could tell Hank was treated like their own during his stay. Great first time experience! Thank you Mel & family ?”

“I’m so thankful for Kelly! She took great care of my hyper but sweet girl. She sent lots of pictures and videos and reassured me that my girl was doing well. We will definitely ask for her assistance again”

“Diana was wonderful with my dog, Blue! She took him in on a short notice and gave him so much love and attention. I could tell he felt right at home. About: I have cared for dogs for many years. I can walk, feed, and play with dogs of different sizes and personalities. I will treat your pet like my own and make sure they feel safe and loved. It's a large part of my daily routine. I have three dogs, all different breeds, which means I take care of them differently because of their different personalities. I have a part-time job; however I work a maximum of 6 hours and I am free before and after work. Right now, I don't offer in-home care at my residence; however, when caring for a client's pet, their safety is my priority. I make sure fences and doors are secure and pay close attention to any illnesses or special needs.
“Did fabulous watching our dog Twilight made sure Twilight was well taken care of also made sure to give updates with pictures of our dog it was a good environment for Twilight and Twilight was comfortable for the days that he was being watched”

“Marietta was wonderful! She had great communication leading up to and during Jade’s stay. She sent lots of pictures. When I arrived to pick Jade up, she looked happy and well taken care of. Marietta treated her like her very own fur baby! I’m very glad I had Marietta keep jade during the holiday.”

“Anissa it’s so thoughtful, my dog has anxiety and she’s always looking out for him and sending updates. My dog is always happy to go to her home, he gets lots of attention from her and her son. My dog chewed at his bed at home, so I sent him with a torn bed and she sewed it up!”
About: I have been a dog mom most of my life. More recently I’ve worked with a rescue and have experience fostering dogs . All 3 of my dogs are rescues and they are all very different so I’ve learned that they all their own individualized plan I currently work full time so I am available most weekends for boarding. Sometimes I’m off over the summer so my availability opens up then I have a really big fenced yard and a cozy pet friendly home. I have 3 small dogs who I love very much. My heeler mix is a bit fear aggressive towards new people and large dogs but he is obedient and I am working on socializing him more and I know exactly to manage. I’ve fostered a variety of dogs the last year and he just needs time to warm up to new dogs and people. My other 2 are terrier mixes and have been socialized since they were pups.

About: Wah Gwaan! My Name is Ronley and I just moved to California from Jamaica! I am a dog lover with over 10 years of hands-on experience raising, caring for, and training dogs. In Jamaica, I helped run a kennel with more than 35 dogs at a time and regularly worked on basic training and behavior. I was never formally certified because certification was not required there, but I gained years of real-world experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. Since moving to the U.S., I’m excited to get back into the dog world. I love everything from energetic puppies to sweet senior dogs, and I bring lots of energy, patience, and love to every dog I care for. I currently work part-time and am available Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with additional availability depending on the day as I work Nights. About: I’m a proud toy poodle mom of two, so caring for small dogs is part of my everyday life. Dogs are very special to me, especially as a deaf person—I rely on body language and visual awareness, which makes me extremely observant and attentive to a dog’s needs, behavior, and safety. What sets me apart is my patience, calm energy, and strong understanding of how dogs communicate without words. I’m especially comfortable with small breeds, shy dogs, and dogs who need gentle care. I work alongside my mom in her home childcare business, which is located right next to my house. Because of this, I am home most of the day and nearby at all times. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and supervision. Pets in my care are rarely left alone for long periods. They become part of our calm, structured daily routine and receive lots of attention and care throughout the day. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and supervised home environment. I closely monitor body language and behavior to ensure every dog feels safe and relaxed. I follow feeding schedules, give regular potty breaks, and keep pet parents updated with messages and photos. Your pet will be treated with love and care, just like my own two toy poodles.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Paige home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Paige.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Paige sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
