“Sar was an exceptional caretaker for our 6 month old greyhound puppy, Tiffin. He made sure that his every need was met, and kept in constant communication with us with lovely photos and videos. Given the holidays, we were grateful that Sar made Tiffin a part of his family for the week, and even gave him his own stocking and present! We felt very safe trusting Tiffin with Sar, and wouldn’t hesitate to do so again in the future.”

“Great experience with Franklin & Yoru! On a last minute booking Franklin was so flexible with doing a meet and greet before and he was an instant yes for us! We have a good boy but big and loud German shepherd and always hesitate with people to watch him, and Franklin was the perfect choice. Would 10/10 recommend using Franklin to others that are looking! He is SUPER communicative with pictures and videos. Our dog Ace came back happy and tired from all the fun he had!”

About: I've been caring for dogs for 6 years, and I treat every pup who stays with me like family. I'm comfortable with all sizes and breeds. For anxious dogs, I offer a calm space, patience, and plenty of reassurance until they settle in. For high energy dogs, I keep them busy with long walks, yard time, and play so they go home happy and tired. For seniors, I keep things slow and cozy, with extra comfort and a gentle pace. My home is dog friendly with a fenced in yard, and I have two friendly dogs of my own, one small Italian Greyhound and one large Husky, so your pup may get a playmate if they're up for it. I always start with a meet and greet before the first stay so your dog (and you!) feel at ease. Then I stick to your dog's routine for meals, walks, and bedtime, and send regular photo updates so you can see the tail wags for yourself. I work from home, so I'm available during the week and weekends, so your dog won't be left alone for long stretches. I can keep your dog on their usual schedule for meals, walks, and potty breaks, and provide steady company throughout their stay. Your dog will stay in my home with a fenced in yard for safe play and potty breaks. I have two friendly dogs of my own, one small and one large, so your pup gets company if they're up for it. Before the first stay, we'll do a meet and greet so I can learn your dog's needs and make sure everyone gets along. I'll send regular photo updates so you always know how your dog is doing.

About: I’ve taken care of pets of all kinds since I was very young. Growing up in a family that always had a dog around, and taking care of family and neighbors pets while they were on vacation has given me a lot of experience. As an adult, I’ve always had pets of my own. I currently work full time as a teacher, and I will take dogs for a walk in the morning before leaving to work. I am usually home at 3:15 pm, easily providing them another break as soon as I get home. During the summer and on holidays, I am home all day. I live in a townhouse without a fenced yard, but I provide walks to the animals I am carrying for every 2-3 hours. I can also accommodate small pets that are used to using a wee wee pad. I have plenty of room inside for pets to play.

About: I’ve been a dog owner and animal lover for many years and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. My property offers plenty of space for dogs to safely explore, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors while receiving constant supervision and attention. I am experienced with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments, and I work to maintain each dog’s normal routine to help them feel comfortable and stress-free. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, walks, or simply relaxing, they’ll receive personalized care, affection, and regular updates while you’re away. My goal is to provide a safe, fun, and comfortable home-away-from-home experience for every dog Why I love dog sitting: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I enjoy spending time with them, getting to know their personalities, and providing a safe, caring environment where they can feel happy and secure. “Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine because I have hands-on experience caring for my own dogs and other pets. My day is structured around feeding, exercise, potty breaks, playtime, and making sure pets receive plenty of attention and supervision. I understand the importance of consistency, safety, and following each pet’s individual routine. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, daycare, or overnight stay, I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for.” “Providing a safe, trustworthy, and comfortable environment is my top priority. I have experience caring for dogs and treat every pet like family. My property features a secure fenced yard and acreage, giving dogs plenty of room to exercise, explore, and enjoy supervised outdoor time safely. Pets are never left unattended for long periods and receive lots of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I follow each pet’s routine as closely as possible and maintain open communication with owners through regular updates and photos, so they can feel confident their pets are in good hands.

About: I started my pet sitting career in Boston in 1993, little did I know it would grow to over 150 dogs a day and over 15 employees. Those Boston days are well behind me, I hold them dear as I am still in contact with my very first client (reference available). As I got older, married, moved to Nantucket MA and then Telluride CO. while raising 3 children, my home was always filled with dogs, I found that good people who needed good pet care always managed to somehow find me. My vast experience allows me to truly enjoy the company of these fantastic creatures that bring us such joy. It my goal, to be sure that an owner that has endeared their pet into my care can enjoy their time away knowing that their dog is safe and happy. My strengths that set me apart as a dog companion are my abilities to be aware of the emotional and physiological aspects of dog behavior. I really watch to see if a dog is happy or unhappy. If a dog feels safe or threatened. It is important that a dog's needs are met on these basic aspects. I have bred dogs, worked with dog breeders and worked in animal hospitals in both Nantucket and Telluride. I have an extensive list of references upon request. Retired and an early riser, my sweet, calm, 5 yr old Lab and I are out the back door for a quick bathroom break, I do not have a fenced in yard but I do have a 4 acre back enclosed courtyard that is quiet, green and well maintained. Then it's breakfast time, I usually give the digestive process an hour or so before it's time for a good hour of play and or a 3 mile walk, especially before it get's to hot. Bathroom breaks are through out the day until dinner at 5, then another good walk as it gets cooler and weather permitting. There is a final bathroom break before bed. I will always gage the activity to my clients needs whether older or younger. I do ride my horse a few times a week, when I do leave it is my priority that the dogs are tired and have plenty of water. My home is set up for pets and people. Dogs are welcome to lounge on all furniture and beds. I have plenty of space for dog beds and if a dog prefers a crate, I am able to accommodate that as well. It is important to talk about various aspects of your dog's behavior and needs. For example, It is very natural for a dog to need space and privacy while eating and some even need quiet time with no other dogs around. Some female dogs enjoy being the boss and need to "safely" work out the hierarchy within the home. While everyone loves 'Treat time", for some dogs it creates a competitive environment. If that is a possibility treats are for another time! It is an important discussion to have to ensure all dogs and humans stay safe and have fun.

About: As a mother of five grown children and a devoted dog owner, I have spent much of my life caring for others with patience, kindness, and responsibility. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have often helped friends by looking after their pets when they were away or in need of extra support. Through these experiences, I have learned that every pet has its own unique personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to understand and adapt to each one. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and understand the importance of providing them with love, attention, and a sense of security. Now that my children are grown, I am excited to dedicate my time to helping other families by caring for their pets as if they were my own. I'm currently not working, which allows me to provide plenty of companionship, attention, and flexibility for the pets in my care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I enjoy having animals as part of my day. I'm able to provide regular potty breaks, feeding on schedule, playtime, walks, and lots of affection while also respecting each pet's individual personality and needs. I understand that consistency helps pets feel safe and comfortable, and I'm committed to creating a calm, loving environment where they feel at home. I provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where pets can feel relaxed and cared for. My home is also fully fenced in and neighborhood is pet friendly. In my home, l maintain a calm routine with plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and regular potty breaks. About: Before I became a human mama, I was a fur mama.. so therefore, I know how worried you can be when you’re gone all day or for a trip! It’s always reassuring to have someone who also loves animals care for your family. I’d love to give you that peace of mind and care for your fur kiddos! I had a gentle giant, Great Dane / Greater Swiss Mountain Dog fur baby, who was my world! We enjoyed beach days, walks, car rides to Starbucks, and especially naps. After he passed. I had human babies, but I still needed to have myself a fur baby. I am now lucky enough to have a wild child, Ramsey who is the sweetest, most gentle puppy. He is so full of joy & energy, and amazing with our 3 kids! I am lucky enough to make my own schedule, so I am extremely flexible. I balance my days out according to what’s on the agenda for that said day! We have a fenced in yard for our kids & fur baby, Rambo. They all love to play with dogs & get along great! We’d love another friend.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Pahokee home-away-from-home, packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Pahokee.

<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Pahokee sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
