“Lacey and her family watched my home and two dogs for a full week while I was on vacation, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! They took great care of our house and left it super clean, sent pictures of my fur babies every day, and were very quick and easy to communicate with. 10/10 recommend, will definitely be booking her again in the future.”

About: Hi, I’m Ashley! I’ve run a horse ranch for going on 10+ years, and my own household includes three dogs, horses, a donkey and a mule. At this point, I’ve met just about every animal personality: Hollywood, shy, opinionated, and the ones who act like they pay bills. I’m kind, patient, and very aware that you know your pet best. Tell me their routine, their silliness, and favorite things. I’m experienced with special needs cases and first aid trained. I have a large amount of experience with common household animals, fish including large ponds, reptilian, winged, exotic, and livestock critters. I’ll follow your lead and exceed care expectations. I do like to send photos so you can see they’re happy, comfortable and in great hands. Happy to be your pets new friend! Pet care has always been part of my everyday life! Between caring for my own animals and working with horses, I’m no stranger to early mornings, feeding schedules, muddy paws, and making sure everyone gets the attention they deserve. I work remote, which gives me flexibility to incorporate pet care into my schedule. So if your pet needs a midday walk, a little company while you're at work, or someone to keep their routine running smoothly while you're away, I'm happy to help! Your pets are family, and I treat them that way! My experience working with animals, including gentling wild mustangs and burros, has taught me patience, awareness, and the importance of earning an animal's trust. I understand that every animal has its own personality, boundaries, and comfort level. Some want to be your shadow, while others prefer to observe you from across the room like a tiny, judgmental landlord. Both are welcome here! When caring for pets in your home, I respect your space, follow your instructions, maintain their normal routines, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I also believe in keeping pet parents updated with pictures and messages, because I know how much we miss our furry kids when we're away.
“Ann was great with Ozzie and Izzie for a week sitting at our home. We were able to have several pre-meetings at our house to go over details and get more familiar with each other and to gain confidence that she could handle both dogs. She kept us posted with pictures and communicated daily with us. Both dogs really enjoyed her while we were gone. Would highly recommend her and will be looking to use her in the future.”

“Hailley watched our cat and dog for about 10 days. She communicated frequently with us during our trip and even sent photos. Our dog got a tummy bug and she went out to get chicken and made her rice and chicken. The animals seemed happy upon our return, the house and animals were clearly well taken care of.”

“I'm grateful I found Christine here for Jasper, since relocating to Idaho Falls. She especially and her husband Clint were welcoming, very receptive and attentive to Jasper the week he had with them! I felt he was well cared for, kept safe, loved on, and included well in their family! Thank you so much! I'm most appreciative!”

“Evelynn is amazing with both dogs and cats, and is careful to make sure pets are comfortable and happy while I am away. She has a sweet way with more sensitive dogs. Helps them feel secure and safe. My dogs were rescued from overcrowded shelters, so need someone who understands dogs who have been through hard things. Evelynn is amazing with them.”

“Kaitlin took great care of our dog while we were out enjoying the St Anthony Sand Dunes. She was very attentive to his needs and made sure he was comfortable and safe while we were gone. I will definitely reach out to have her take care of him if we are in the area again.”

About: I have been with animals my whole life. Though not certified, I have trained dogs to heard cows. I’ve also helped them with extreme behavioral issues. I love understanding a dog’s body language. To out it simply I know how to act around most dogs. I have also helped my family take care of puppies! I work a job at a day care center Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. I am able to let dogs out for a quick potty break around 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. I may leave for an hour or two during the weekend to meet up with my family, but never more than that if I am house sitting. I do my best to not only respect and love the animals of the home, but also your home itself. I will do my best to keep everything clean and leave it the way I found it. I am more than happy to meet an odd or long requests and instructions if they are written down for me!
“Kaitlynn, was very nice and sweet to our ederly black lab Jessie. She did an incredible job and went above and beyond giving her lots of special care and assistance while house/dog sitting for us. We would definitely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone on Rover.”

“Robin is the BEST EVER! My dogs absolutely loved having her take care of them while we went out of town. She sent so many pictures and videos of them enjoying themselves. I will 1000% use Robin in the future :)”

About: I've owned and cared for dogs since I was a child! My husband and I have a rescue German Shepherd, his name is Kiba. He is 3. We have 3 kids. I have a dog and a cat! So taking care of animals is a part of my regular routine. But I'm also a stay-at-home-mom of 3 kids. So I'm home a lot and have the time! I've worked in many people's homes in the past, not with animals, and I'm very respectful of peoples spaces. I'm there to do a job and love your animal while you're busy! The same in my home, they'll be there to be loved when you can't!
About: Animals are family, and that’s the approach I take when caring for them! I have extensive experience with a wide variety of dog breeds, sizes, personalities, and training techniques. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, a daily walk, or some extra love and attention while you’re away, I would be happy to provide them with the same care I would give my own pets! My schedule is extremely open and flexible, allowing me to easily accommodate pet care throughout the day and week while giving each animal plenty of time and attention. I follow each pet’s routine closely, providing plenty of exercise needed, affection wanted, supervision, and patience while respecting yours and their space, habits, and individual needs.
“Zoe was amazing with our two German shepherds and took such great care of them and our two cats for the week we were gone! I did not have to worry about a thing the whole time. She let us know regularly how things were going and sent us the cutest pictures of our animals! Our house was so clean when we got home and the animals were so content. We will definitely be using her regularly when we have to go out of town for any length of time!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Osgood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Osgood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Osgood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
