About: Pretty much not a single day of my life has gone by without being around animals/pets. Even though I am new to the rover platform, I have cared for animals my whole life and will treat your fur baby just like one of my own! I’m really trying to build up my clientele to make this a successful side business so if you give me a shot I won’t disappoint! I currently work 2nd shift so I am readily available most weeks as listed: Mon, Wed, Thurs = 10am-3pm Tues = 10am-1pm Fri & Sat = 10am-6pm Sun = not available None of those times are set in stone and depending on the situation I may still be able to work something out with you. I’m flexible so you just let me know what you need. Those times are just a general idea of when I’m available each day of the week. I will treat your home with respect and will follow any guidelines you ask in order to care for your pet. Safety is my #1 priority so I will always ensure I am following your routine of doing things to keep your pet free from danger (walking on a leash if you do so, not letting them escape the house, etc)

“I couldn’t be happier with the care Nicholas provided for my cat, Jack! He was absolutely wonderful from start to finish, and most importantly, Jack absolutely LOVES him. 🥹❤️ It's clear that he genuinely cared about Jack and took the time to make him feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I received wonderful updates and pictures while I was away, which gave me so much peace of mind. I came home to a happy, relaxed, and very well-cared-for cat, and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thank you, Nicholas!”

About: I love cats and dogs, and have had cats most of my adult life. I believe animals are truly family members and should be treated with gentleness and respecting their nature. I have no problem following detailed instructions, and every visit I take pics to show you your fur baby is being well cared for! I am free most mornings before 8:30am and in the evenings after 6pm. On weekends I have more flexibility in my schedule. I’ll be happy to work with you on whatever your scheduling needs are! If a client discusses a list of instructions, I’ll do my best to follow them to the letter. Otherwise, I’ll follow what to me is ideal care for an animal: ensuring they have clean and fresh water, proper food, cleaning litter boxes or taking a dog out for a walk as needed, and spending a little time cuddling and playing (respecting how shy they might be!). If a pet is too shy to play, sometimes I’ll just spend a few minutes sitting on the floor and talking to them in a soothing voice so they can get used to my presence as someone who is friendly. If approved beforehand, I can even bring (or use your own) a few treats! I may also reach out to you if I see something that I think needs addressing (not enough food or litter, a pet seeming lethargic or coughing excessively etc.). If that happens, I’ll discuss with you how you want to handle it. In case of illness, I take my own cats to Wentworth Animal Hospital so, for example, if I saw your cat seemed to be vomiting excessively, if you approved it I would have no problem taking them in for a walk-in and working out the payment and a reasonable rate with you over the phone. The most important thing is to ensure that your fur baby is given the best care possible. :-)

So the rest of the week I can play and walk your pups 🐶!! I’m super flexible with my schedule. I have three pups of my own and two acres of land for them to run and play, I do prefer to do walks or in home check ins on others animals though! One of my pups gets anxious around others sometimes. About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats, young and old, since 2019. I’m a lifelong animal lover who’s parented guinea pigs and parakeets as well. I pride myself on creating enriching experiences for the animals I sit through play and exercise. I’m a freelancer by trade and work for myself so I have open availability during both weekdays and weekends with limited notice needed to make myself available. I ask that pet owners provide any necessary supplies as I do not have them at home. I do live in a newer apartment complex with a fenced in playground for dogs to run around and lots of sidewalk space for walks.

About: My daughter and I grew up helping take care of dogs and have been around them for as long as we can remember. We’ve looked after our own dogs as well as those of friends and family. There has never been a year in our lives without a dog in it, and we truly can’t imagine life without one! I currently work full time as a 2nd grade teacher, but I’m available for boarding, doggie day care, walking, dropping in, or playing with your dog during the week and on the weekends. My 17 year old daughter will be assisting as she absolutely loves dogs too. Our house is in a neighborhood. We currently have one dog who is a morkipoo and is very playful and loves other dogs. We are able to crate your dog if needed.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments for over 15 years. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and provide loving care for their pets while they’re away. I’m attentive, reliable, and treat every pet like they’re my own. I’m comfortable with puppies, high-energy dogs, and senior pets who may need a little extra patience and care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority, and I’ll make sure you feel at ease with regular updates and communication. I work 12-hour hospital shifts, so my availability can vary slightly week to week, but I’m intentional about only accepting bookings I can fully commit to. On my days off, I have plenty of time to give pets the attention, walks, playtime, and care they need. I’m reliable, communicative, and always make sure pets stay on their normal routine as much as possible. I care for every pet with patience, attention, and genuine love. I know how important it is to trust someone with your animal, so I make safety, comfort, and communication a priority. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and individual needs so your pet feels secure, cared for, and as relaxed as possible while you’re away.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Oregon Hill

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 744 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Oregon Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oregon Hill. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
