“Casey was able to care for our dog when we made a last minute request. Saved our vacation! She had plenty of room for our dog to roam and clearly made him comfortable, as he was giving her high fives by the end of his stay :)”

“Danielle took my last minute request to board Luna at her house. She was an AMAZING sitter. When we met her (since this was our first time meeting) she had a pen and paper ready to write down what Luna needed. Throughout her stay, Danielle sent lots of adorable pictures of play time and it made me feel at peace knowing Luna was in good hands. Her messages provided lots of updates with how Luna was doing and any pet who has her as a sitter is blessed to have found her!”

“We’re always nervous about leaving our pups for the first time with someone, but Jani and Paul made us so comfortable! Plenty of picture updates and our pups seemed SO happy when we picked them up. You can tell they love animals, we will definitely be using them again!”

“This was the second time that Abigail watched my dog Charlie. He was so excited to see her again! She took great care oh him! She even made him a bag of homemade treats! She’s absolutely amazing!”

“Kasalyn was great! She took excellent care of my dog, kept me updated, and made the whole process easy and stress-free. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog with her and would definitely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Cory did such an amazing job with our dog Juno! Despite it being her first time staying with him, she warmed up quickly to him and his family and had a great time. Cory sent a pic with a comment each day, which helps so much when you miss your pup! We would not hesitate to board Juno again with Cory- I highly recommend him!”

About: I’ve had dogs ever since I can remember. From a golden retriever, Chocolate lab, Chihuahua to an American Bulldog. We lost our Poe (American Bulldog) several months ago and instead of getting an new pup I want to love yours! I am active and will take your pup on walks and they will get the best care and attention while you’re gone. We have a doggie door so they can get out whenever they need to and be in our enclosed backyard. I currently work from home with lots of flexibility!! I might run to the gym or to the store but your pup will be covered. My husband and I are a team and love animals! We live on 11 acres. So plenty of space to roam with several fenced in kennel areas as well as wide open area to play and run.

I am flexible and can provide excellent pet care whenever you need. I have a yard and a large park next to my home with space for walks. I also have a dog and am currently fostering a cat.
“Laura kept our 9-month old, 70lb 'puppy' for a week and we had a great experience. Laura was prompt, easy to deal with and kept in regular touch with us while we were away. Our dog had a learning curve to contend with - it was her first Rover experience and her first time living around other dogs. Laura handled it all without complaint . She provides lots of room to run, play and be free at her space.”

“Great hosts and a wonderful environment for our elder beagle Rusty! Clear and prompt communication, and very accommodating of our schedule. We will happily book again if we're in need in the Staunton area.”

“Falen and her wonderful family were so good to my Thor. She provided excellent updates with pictures and her communication kept my mind at ease. I am absolutely going to use her again. Thanks so much, Falen!!!!”

“Jennifer was very attentive to my sweet puppy and flexible with pick up/drop off times. She is very professional and prepared for the job. Will definitely be using her services again!”

About: I have a genuine love for animals and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. As a pet owner myself, I know that every animal has its own personality, routine, and needs. I am patient, attentive, and dedicated to making pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. Whether it's feeding, playtime, walks, or simply providing companionship, I strive to give every pet the same care and attention I would want for my own. I am currently balancing school and part-time work, but I enjoy making time in my schedule to care for animals. I am happy to work with pet owners to arrange visits that fit their pets' routines and needs. I understand how important consistency is for animals, and I do my best to provide dependable, attentive care during every visit. My availability may vary throughout the week, but I am always happy to discuss scheduling in advance! Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I understand that welcoming someone into your home and trusting them with your pet is a big decision. I will always respect your home, follow your instructions carefully, and maintain your pet's usual routine as closely as possible. I pay attention to each animal's behavior and comfort level, allowing them to interact at their own pace. I am also happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel reassured that your pet is safe, happy, and receiving plenty of love and attention.

“We are very picky about with whom we leave our lab Jack. Meeting Danielle in person was very reassuring because she is a combination of energy and friendliness. I suspect Jack had as much fun playing with Danielle's dogs as we did on our mini-getaway. We intend to use Danielle in the future as the need arises and we give her our highest recommendation. I don't always leave online reviews but my wife and I really like Danielle.”

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
