“We haven't used a pet service before, so my expectations were mixed. Other people who accepted the job canceled at the last minute, and I reached out to Mandy. She was kind, professional and my animals took to her quickly. We have an elderly dog who got himself in a jam going down into our basement without the ability to get back up. Mandy CARRIED him--a 55lb save of potatoes--up the stairs! When I say I would recommend her to everyone, I mean it. She was a lovely person and even left treats for the pups AND the humans. 15/10 so many 🌟”

“Erin did a fantastic job! She was willing to adjust her schedule to accommodate my schedule change. She attended to Shatsi as requested and kept me in the loop - loved the pictures! She can be counted on to meet her commitments and is an excellent communicator. I intend to be a repeat client. Thanks again Erin!”

“Patricia helped me out on very short notice, which was a great relief even before she began care. She provided care based on written communication, without our having opportunity to do a meet and greet. This was a first for me and my 70-pound, highly energetic dog. She pulled it off in exemplary fashion, as far as I can tell (my dog is alive and well!). She was punctual enough and, between my instructions and her intuition, there was hardly a hitch. I think you and your dog will be in very good hands.”

“Mairin is beyond reliable, so great with communication and she takes great care of my Stella girl, and she’s just a sweetheart! It’s nice to have people who you know will treat your pup like their own, and I know Mairin does just that!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life! I live in an area where there are trails to take walks on and a dog park to play at! My goal is to make sure that your pet is loved and taken care of during your time away from them! I work at a full time job, but I am off at a decent time and have plenty of time during the weekends to play, walk, and take care of your fur baby! I make sure that I get up in time to make sure that I can give about 30 minutes of play before work and that they are fed in a timely manner.

About: Hi! My name is Stephanie, and my husband, three kids (3, 7, and 10) and I are so excited to love your dog while you’re away! A Roof for Ruffs is the brainchild of our 10yo daughter. We are a foster family for a local dog rescue organization where we take in one or two dogs at a time until they can find their forever homes. We’re having so much fun with fostering that our sweet girl suggested we take on paying clients between our fosters, and donate some of the proceeds to the same local dog rescue organization. ♥️ I’ve owned dogs my whole life. Between fostering, petsitting for family, neighbors and friends, and caring for my own pups, I have experience with all ages—from very young puppies to seniors and everything in between; small and large breeds; well-behaved and questionable; medical cases, and even the occasional cat. 😱 Your dog’s vacay siblings for their stay will include a 2yo female Great pyr/St. Bernard rescue pup, and two 4yo guinea pigs. We are so very excited to meet your dog, and to treat them like family for their stay. My husband works full time, but I am a freelance writer with flexible hours working from home while caring for our three kids. In other words: your pup won’t be left alone often! 😆 **Please note: all pets must have proof of updated vaccines and be okay with kids (they will be loved on and spoiled by our kiddos while they’re here!) I am home daily with my kids, so lots of potty breaks and playtime is possible throughout the day. We are available most weekdays or weekends unless blocked while we have a foster or for travel. We have a 4-foot aluminum fence in the backyard and live on a public park with a walking trail for easy exercise options. We have extra dog crates here if your pup is crate-trained or feel free to bring your own.

“Jessica was great! We just moved to Chicago and were going out of town two days later. She made arrangements to FaceTime me during her visit with my fur baby since we didn’t get the chance to meet before. I felt so much better knowing that my kitty was checked on. Plus, she sent a bunch of pictures!”
