“Latasha was wonderful with our pets, Pepper and Lily, during the 5 days she cared for them. She provided regular updates and kept us informed about how they were doing, including their food intake, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She was very attentive to both of their individual needs. Lily is an indoor/outdoor cat who likes to spend time outside during the day, and Latasha was very accommodating to her routine while making sure Lily was safely inside by nighttime. She also took great care of Pepper and made sure both of our pets were comfortable and well cared for. We also really appreciated how thoughtful she was with our home. She kept everything clean and tidy, brought in our mail, and even left a few little goodies for us when we returned, which was such a sweet surprise! Latasha was caring, responsible, communicative, and clearly went above and beyond. We felt very comfortable knowing Pepper and Lily were in her care, and we would absolutely have her sit for them again. Highly recommend Latasha!”

“Ranae is GREAT!! My dog, who tends to be cautious and hang back with strangers, ran up to Ranae and welcomed her with kisses and happy sounds the very first time he met Ranae!! WOW!! A very good start!! Ranae was prompt, attentive, knowledgeable about dogs and clearly an animal lover. Yesterday was our first dog sitting session, but I'm happy to recommend her and look forward to her great animal care in the future. Thank you Ranae!!”

“Laura has watched my pup(s) a few times now and is the only one I trust to be there when I can’t be! She goes above and beyond every time and I am so grateful! Not to mention, she is so kind and thoughtful. Really, a great, trustworthy resource to watch your fur babies!”

About: Hey. My name is Ali, I train dogs and this is a cool way to do what I love! I treat my dogs as if they were mine children & would do the same for anyone’s pet in my care. Making sure they’re comfortable and safe is my top priority. The way pet care fits into my day is regular because I’m taking care of my dogs and others literally all day so it’s a normal routine. My home and yard is dog friendly I’ve been training dogs for 15 years so I have the hang of keeping pets clean an safe.
About: Hello, my animal care experience began when I was a child. I grew up on a farm, and learned animal care, and training. I have always loved animals, and felt and affinity for them. I have a background in human health care, but am well versed in animal CPR, and am experienced and comfortable administering medications including iv, and injections. I’m experienced caring for, and training pets of all ages, and stages of life. I love dogs and cats equally! I’m in the entertainment industry (musician) so I have a fairly flexible schedule. I often work on the weekends, but I will still have availability during that time. I’m not usually gone for more than 6 hours. I have no pets in my home currently. I live in a condo with a roommate. We have a small fenced yard, and a larger fenced area for dogs immediately adjacent to our yard. I love walking, and will typically walk dogs, unless there are reasons the dog can’t.

About: Hi! My name is Darius and I truly love being around animals. I don't have any right now, but I've had pets almost my entire life including a yorkie, two pomeranians, three cocker spaniels, a foster kitten, and a German shepherd. I used to live with two adult cats, but my ex got them in the breakup sadly. Fortunately, I've got another friend with older cats that lets me check on them when she's away. More recently, I've been the go-to pet sitter for my friends because I have a big house with a fenced in yard and a lot of squirrels to yap at. Long story short, I just want your baby to feel loved and taken care of while they're away from home. I'll be with them most of the day because I typically work from home. As long as they don't mind chilling around the house, walking around my beautiful neighborhood, or chiming in on the occasional business call, we'll get along great. Like I mentioned, 99% of the time I work from home M-F. I might occasionally go into the office but only for a 2-4 hours max. Three days a week I go to the gym for an hour but for the most part I'll be working, chilling at the house, or outside exploring the neighborhood with my new furry friend. I like to curate a calm, peaceful environment that's full of love for your pet to feel relaxed and at ease during their stay.
“What an excellent experience! Gaby was fantastic! She sent us text messages and photos every day with updates on how our pups were doing. She also was taking them on walks every day (when it wasn't raining...and sadly it was a pretty rainy week) and took pictures of them out on their adventures! Our house was well taken care of and she was very easy to communicate with during the stay. If she had any questions, she sent messages and was very thankful for the information. Will gladly have Gaby stay with our pack again!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Nutwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Nutwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nutwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
