“Sophia did an excellent job watching over our dog. She asked questions, took notes, and let us know of any concerns. Of course she also sent us plenty of pictures. We are so grateful for her!!”

“Crystal was great! Highly recommend! Very quick to respond. She came for a meet and greet. She asked questions and made us feel comfortable and reassured that our dog would be well taken care of. She sent pictures and let us know how he did every visit. We will be using her services in the future.”

About: My love of dogs started when I rescued my first dog. Since then, I have acquired a load of knowledge not only in how to care for them, but also how to train them. I can provide mental and physical stimulation for your furry friend and bring most of my own equipment - I can also use the tools your pet is most familiar with. I can assess your pet to determine what your pet may need for stimulation, make suggestions for daily care, and learn at least some of their body language. My dogs and I are always interacting whenever I'm home, but most of our intentional fun/training happens outdoors daily. This includes both training and walking. I also help some of my friends train their dogs whenever our schedules allow. I believe your dog should ALWAYS be in training and you can make almost any situation a training opportunity. Your pets can be treated as my own and/or according to your specific instructions. Do you have multiple dogs that need to be separated? No problem. Can your dogs be together but need to be supervised so tension doesn't continue to build? I got you covered there too! Does your dog pull too much on walks, need to learn how to act in-doors? I can work with your dog on those things as well in addition to other things!
About: I walk an Jog everyday. I love dogs a puppies and cats! I also have 3 pet rabbits so if you have a rabbit I can take care of it as well. I have 4 dogs and 4 cats. 2 of my dogs are pure breed German shepherds and 1 is a Golden Shepherd so I’m not scared of big dogs!! I can do any drop in visit for cats or dogs or walks I’m a stay at home mom. My time is pretty free daily. I’m available for any drop in visit or daily walks. I also did Certified nursing my junior year of high school at a vocational school. I will follow all care instructions for the clients house and everything they tell me for the care of the pets they have so they know it’s right.

About: Whether your precious purse pooch needs a structured routine while you’re at work or you have to leave your gigantic baby home while going on vacation, I’ve got you covered! I have 10 years of experience taking care of my own pets (cats and dogs!) and friends and family have trusted me to feed, play, and meet their dogs needs while they’re away. I work part time and am saving up to go back to college in the Fall, so until then my availability is pretty open to help. Whether its early mornings, nights, or weekend stays, I am flexible when it comes to my schedule and value consistent communication when changes come up. I have reliable transportation and can accommodate last minute needs or plan for more structured, longer care. At the moment, I prefer to take care of pets in the comfort of their own home since I don't have a big enough space to invite your pets into. You know your pet best and sticking to what they're familiar with as far as feedings, exercise, and other care is what I will prioritize. My approach is calm, steady, and confident. High energy doesn't overwhelm me and big personalities don't intimidate me. Did you think of your feisty cat with the big attitude just now? Or is your dog sprinting a relay race from room to room as you read this? I would love to meet them! I focus on creating a balanced environment where dogs feel safe, comfortable, and understood.

Whether it’s a quick check in or a long walk, I’ll be there. Your home deserves to be respected. I can be trusted to treat your home as gently as I treat your pet. Your home will be left the same as it was when I arrived.

About: I have experience caring for pets of all kinds, making sure they’re fed, exercised, and comfortable. I’m reliable, attentive, and focused on keeping every pet safe, happy, and loved. I’m currently in college, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for pets. I’m available most days from morning through the evening and can adjust to fit your needs. I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment for every pet. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep a close eye on behavior, and make sure they feel comfortable and secure. In clients’ homes, I respect their space, keep things tidy, and provide regular updates with photos so you always feel at ease.
About: I’ve had experience taking care of small animals and big animals since I grew up with both. I currently have older dogs at the house but I also have a pup of my own here as well. I am currently not employed and love to work with animals so this is what I chose to do, I love taking care of animals and always have. I’m very used to taking animals out on walks, feeding them, and loving on them since that is what I do with my own. I treat others animals the same way I’d want mine to be treated.
“Lauren was really great, especially given our cat is very skiddish/scared and runs under the sofa at the slightest noise. Thank you for being caring and compassionate. When we go out of town again, Lauren will definitely be our selection. We highly recommend her.”

“We had a great experience with Marina! She is reliable, caring, and wonderful with our dog. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in good hands while we work such long hours. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker!”

Don’t fret or worry about your pets while on vacation, i will update you with pictures and texts everyday. I myself am a dog mom to five fur kids and understand the want to make sure your pets are in great hands. I currently do dog sitting full time so I will have plenty of time to play, care for, and give potty breaks for your fur kids! About: I have been taking care of my own dogs since I was young and love to be around all animals! I used to nanny for a family with 5 kids and they had a wonderful dog that I always helped to care for! Feeding and taking him to the groomers and vet appointments…all things that I was lucky to get to help with! I also used to care for 2 cats (both needing to take medication) and a bull dog on a daily basis! I have a Jack Russell (that just passed away) myself that I had for about 10+ years and no kids do she was my only fur baby! I have recently in the past year gotten a brand new puppy named Sugar! She is a beagle/terrier/lab mix and 25 pounds of Adorableness! She is so sweet And absolutely my little girl, as she follows me everywhere and tries to be wherever I am, and always under foot!!! She’s a little skittish and still all puppy at eight months! So I am no stranger to puppy needs at all! I also have Bella, who is a pit/beagle mix and she is a little over a year and a half old! She is 60 pounds of crazy but happy and smart and always at my husband side! What a love bug! But remember, with pets, there is no personal space! Lol I love pets of all kinds and will care for them as if they were my own! Snuggles are free!!! I am currently a part-time private nanny, to a bunch of different families who may need care for their little ones day a week, and my schedule is always changing from week to week so my availability will always be changing. But,I will try to keep my Rover calendar up-to-date as I hope more of you reach out! The plan is is turn this into a full-time gig so I will have probably more availability as time goes on towards the end of this year, but I’m hoping to find some regular clients that will book with me on a consistent basis! Plus, I’m really looking forward to all the pet snuggles! I am always very mindful of the time for feedings and walks…any medication will be given correctly and timely…I will make sure your home is locked up after I leave from a walk and/or feeding! Please know that I will do my best to. Gain the trust of the animal! Cats too! I do highly recommend a meet & greet ahead of time so we can meet pet parents and also meet dog(s)! Let’s them see me and hopefully remember me and feel comfortable with me in their house! (*Please note: House Sitting rates apply to stays where overnight accommodations (a clean bed/space) are provided in your home. If you prefer daytime/evening visits only without overnight stays, please book via my Drop-In rates!)

About: Hi! I'm a passionate pet sitter with professional experience working in both a boarding kennel and a veterinary clinic. During my time at the kennel, I cared for pets of all ages—from young puppies and kittens to senior pets—and worked with a wide variety of breeds, personalities, and energy levels. I also have experience caring for pets with medical conditions and special needs, including administering medications and providing attentive, individualized care. Working in a veterinary clinic has further strengthened my knowledge of animal health and behavior, allowing me to recognize when a pet may need extra attention and provide confident, compassionate care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I'll treat them like one of my own. My goal is to keep your pets happy, safe, and comfortable while giving you peace of mind with regular updates and photos throughout my visits. 🐾 I currently work full time at the veterinary clinic but I can pop in multiple times a day to check on your furry friend(s) or I can also stay the night at your house 😊 When caring for your furry friends in their home, my goal is to keep them comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine as much as possible. I provide feeding, fresh water, walks, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of companionship and attention based on each pet’s personality and needs. I also have experience working in both a veterinary clinic and a boarding kennel, so I’m comfortable caring for pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, including those with medical conditions or special care instructions. I understand that pets feel most secure in their own environment, so I take the time to make them feel calm and cared for while you’re away. I can administer medications if needed and will closely follow any instructions you provide to ensure their health and well-being. During each visit, I’ll also check that everything is safe and in order in your home, and I’ll provide regular updates with photos and messages so you always know how your pets are doing. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your furry family members are in caring, capable hands. 🐾

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
